The Linyanti Concession can be visited year-round, but the best time for general wildlife viewing (especially elephants) is during the dry months, from May to October. Animals disperse during the wetter months, which means fewer sightings from November to April. The exception, apart from waterbirds along the Linyanti River, is the zebra migration. In November, zebras foal in the Savuti region of Chobe National Park, and they gather around Linyanti between February and April.

November to March Wet Season

  • Zebra calving and migration occurs
  • Migratory birds are present from November to April and many birds are breeding
  • The scenery is usually lush and green
  • There is less general wildlife
  • It can be very hot and humid
  • Rains can sometimes restrict activities and roads are often in poor condition
