Majete is fabulous because it’s accessible and close to Blantyre , it has options for various accommodations including sleeping in the hide overnight . The elephants in majete are always incredible, the lion population is thriving. Antelope, baboons and amazing birds. The river area and loops are brilliant, it feels small even though it isn’t so you can access a lot of the park in one day, waterholes are always great. In the green season it’s very bushy, but beautiful in the summer is open and animal spotting are so much better. Majete is always a great day out and the animal are thriving , there is rhino, wild dog, cheetah, leopard and more. It’s a beautiful place. Great entry cots, great restaurant and pool, 2 lodges of various budgets campsite, bush camo and tree houses. Something for everyone .

I have been on safaris before. This one was reconstituted, since poachers had pretty much destroyed this entire area of animals. It is nice for the government to repopulate the area but honestly it is a big waste of time Very few animals that you will see compared to other safaris. Very disappointing the country however is pretty. Accommodations terrible. The food a disaster honestly go to Disney in Orlando snd take the safari tour. A bus. In 20 minutes you see all the animals plus stay at their hotel the giraffes are right outside your window. This is a poor man’s safari with mainly bugs as the wildlife

Really enjoyed our visit to Majete - were able to drive around the park ourselves safely. The riverside setting is beautiful. We saw a lot of wildlife, none of the Big 5 unfortunately, but the highlight for us was seeing a nest of baby Warthogs! An amazing sight. The park attendants were very welcoming. We did a bush walk and safari drive and they were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would really recommend a visit if you're in the area.
