Nakuru is quite a small park, but the lake is quite nice and there are plenty of rhinos, some lions and the occasional leopard. The water level of the lake has risen quite which has deducted the number of flamingos.

Supports a large number of pelicans and many other species of bird life. Not the best place to visit if you only wish to see large game.

I saw the White rhinos very near! Also is a place to watch flamingos, ask before if they are closer to watch, because in some cases they are far.

When we were there it was flood issues to deal with. Heavy forest was a challenge but came away with many, many fine images.

Lake Nakuru was really flooded when I went. But it was still a great place for wildlife and birds. Love the baboons!

A plethora of wildlife at the end of the dry season

We arrived at Lake Nakuru National Park on our Intrepid Travel safari bus and headed straight to the lalk, which was very, very low because it was at the very end of the dry season. The skies were overcast but it was dry!
Around the lake there was plenty of birdlife including a pair of elegant crested crowned srane. There were a variety of wading birds around the lake's edges including, ruff, little stint, greenshank, redshank and black-winged stilt as well as the ubiquitous Egyptian geese. In the bush good sightings of Rupeell's long-tailed starling were to be had.
Gazelles were plentiful and impala, Grants and Thompson's gazelle were to be seen around the park, as were olive baboons, black-backed jackal, warthog, African buffalo, Burchell's zebra and lion.
The highlight of the visit came at dusk just before we were leaving. We were treated to brief views of two blac rhinoceros before coming across a crash of 10 white rhinoceros.
A great trip to the National Park with great views of a variety of wildlife.

Great place to see wildlife with a good range of species, especially birds. Shame that it is fenced so not completely natural

We were there for only half a day and early next morning on our way out. The views are fantastic especially on the way and from the Sopa Lodge. Got to see a lot of wildlife like buffalos, gazelles, impalas, zebras & warthogs. We were so very lucky to see Rhinos, Giraffes and Lions and pigmy antelopes. We did not see different birds for which Lake Nakuru is famous.
The lodge was ok and not luxury as described but the views from the bedroom and dining area were fantastic. The staff were friendly and tried their level best to make the experience enjoyable. The food was not of high standard but was ok and the waitress failed to understand the order.
The weather was excellent and both guides made the experience memorable. Joe was very knowledgeable and knew where to go so that we can get to see the wildlife. He had the patience to wait for the animal to get closer so that we could get better photos of the Rhinos.
Our only regret was that we should have stayed one more day.
