One of the best, but busy national parks in Southern Africa

Chobe National Park in Botswana is one of the most amazing national parks in the world. You can see four of the Big Five in a single morning. You can possibly see a leopard strolling around, lions preparing for a hunt or Bufallo sharing a bath with Elephants.

Best of all this can be done with a game viewer or boat and you will have some of the most amazing wildlife and birding experiences.

However, there are so many visitors to the national park as well as the surrounding lodges that it feels like month end shopping sometimes. Instead od trolley bashing at Walmart, you will see 30+ game viewers fighting for a spot next to lions or leopards. Unfortunately, some of the accommodations have also become complacent and customer service could be better.

Ngorongoro Crater.

We drove up to the crater and coulndt see anything because of all the fog, I was thinking there goes a great day...
I couldn't be more wrong!
When we drove in we saw the complete crater and al of his beauty.
In there the landscape mainly excist out of grasland we saw Buffalow's, wilderbeast, zebra's, lion's, antilope's, hogwarts, some Elephants, a huge group of flamingos and a Giraffe on the edge.
Al of the craters edges are filled with bushes and trees, great for pictures.
After a great tour we went back up the edge and had the most beautifull view of the entire crater, I loved it!

I certainly recommend going there!

Best Regards,
Jeroen

Good place to see a high density of animals all living close to each other, with a great vista at the top. Best place to catch the infamous rhino. Definitely one of the busier parks, so feels a little bit less like a national park and more like a tourist attraction. Harder to get photos, unless game drive goes further away from the heavy traveled areas.

We wasn't lucky to see rhinos close! And famous enormous herds of zebra and wildebeests migrated to Kenya. But we still have seen lions cubs!

We saw plenty of wildlife but preferred the openness of the Serengeti

See most all the animals in one place - although kind of feels like cheating after Serengeti.

Ngorongoro crater is very scenic but our wildlife sighting was much better in Tarangire as well as Serengeti. We saw rhinos from very far since there appears to be some research going with the rhinos or perhaps there has been poaching.

Ngorongoro conservation area is worth a visit as rhinos can be found here while Serengeti might be too big and too hard to find such an endangered kind of animal. In the crater, there were big herds of zebras, buffalos, wildebeests, elephants and hippos while several prides of lions could be seen as well. The lanscape itself is unique being surrounded by the rain forest in the highland with a great plain at the bottom of the crater. Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is the best choice to enjoy the magnificent view of the crater.
