Amazing safari with incredible face to face events
JAMBO, JAMBO.... KARIBU...
We did an all-inclusive private tour/safari:
from August 1st to 11th, 2026 in Tanzania.
(7 full days of safari).
We were a group (family) of 10 people, traveling in 2 4x4 vehicles.
Our wishes were:
- to spend as much time as possible searching for and observing animals in their natural habitat,
- to see as many animal species as possible,
- to witness the Great Migration (the transhumance) of wildebeest in the northern Serengeti, crossing the Mara River,
- to spend at least 4 days in the Serengeti (2 days in the central Serengeti and 2 in the north),
- to visit the Ngorongoro Crater,
- to meet the Maasai.
We booked directly through a tour operator in Aarhus that we found online with very good reviews. We feel that agencies in France don't offer enough safaris in their tours, despite the relatively high price.
Simply contact him by email or WhatsApp. He responds immediately.
He is very professional and also speaks French. You can ask him about anything you want to do (custom private safaris), he offers excellent advice, is attentive, and very reliable. He takes care of everything.
- It's a small, friendly agency with nine 4x4 vehicles with sunroofs, all in excellent condition.
- A very good selection of lodges, very comfortable and pleasant, and superb tented camps in the Serengeti. An elephant came to visit us (there are no fences in Tanzania).
We also heard the cries of animals (hyenas, hippos, lions...).
- The food is very well prepared.
At lunchtime, the picnic is hearty and well-prepared (prepared dishes, meats in sauce, roast chicken, vegetables, rice, bananas, watermelon, biscuits, fruit juice).
Some days, a box of 3 is available.
- Bottled water and Coca-Cola are available daily in the 4x4's cooler, which is very much appreciated.
- Binoculars are available in the 4x4.
- The drivers/guides speak excellent French.
We were lucky enough to have Harouna, who is very experienced and has been leading tours for several years.
He knows a lot, communicates with other guides via CB radio to exchange information on animal locations, is very resourceful, always positions himself well for observing animals and landscapes, gives us the necessary time, and stops the engine for photos, videos, and for observing with binoculars. He is also very attentive, very kind, and always smiling.
Victor was the driver of The other 4x4.
He was also kind, helpful, and did his best to ensure we saw lots of animals. He was very friendly.
At the end of our stay, Joel made a point of meeting with us to discuss our experience and see if everything had gone well.
Our stay was exceptional. We returned home with our heads full of images and countless photos to remember it by: magnificent landscapes, thousands of animals with their young, herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, Thomson's gazelles... in the endless plains of the Serengeti, and superb sunrises and sunsets in the savanna. The collapsed crater, Ngorongoro, is a magnificent, treeless space where we continued our journey and saw our first white rhinos, as they are protected.
Our itinerary and the parks:
1 day Tarangire (famous for its baobabs, herds of elephants, and its...) Monkeys and birds...)
1 day Lake Manyara (herds of elephants, monkeys, hippos... but didn't see any lions, neither on the ground nor in the trees).
2 days in the central Serengeti (Seronara), (Maasai, leopards in trees, cheetahs, lions, lionesses, cubs...)
2 days in the northern Serengeti to see the Great Migration of wildebeest herds crossing the Mara River on the Kenyan border.
1 day in the Ngorongoro Crater (lots of animals, lions, raccoons, rhinos, hippos...)
then a visit to a village and rice paddies by tuk-tuk, lunch with a local family, last day accommodation facing Kilimanjaro and an excursion to the waterfalls at Materni, then we made coffee with Chagga singing and a Chagga meal at the home of a passionate (English-speaking) guide.
Feel free to contact the agency. "Chalema Tanzania Safari" in Arhusa offers excellent value for money. You won't regret it.
The safari was top-notch and exactly what we expected.
When we repeat the experience, we will definitely contact Joel again.
Thank you for everything. With Chalema, it's

Highly recommended!
I highly recommend Chalema for your safari bookings in Tanzania.
I booked a 9 day trip with Chalema Tanzania Safaris for February and had a great experience. I found them via safaribookings.com. Husna from the Chalema team was the travel advisor I worked with and she was very prompt in responding and providing me with multiple quotes based on my request.
My group was lucky enough to get the whole jeep to ourselves. No sharing the trip with strangers. Our assigned safari guide Harouna was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and ensured we had a great time. We were able to see the big 5 of Africa within our 5 days of game drives. It is true when people say the guide can make or break the trip. Our guide was very accommodating and catered to our request. Each morning, the jeep would come cleaned and ready for the day, which was very appreciated.
All the lodges and jungle camps that we stayed at were excellent. Good breakfast was available everyday and we were provided with packed lunches to eat during the game drives.
Just a few things to ensure you have a great trip :
- Double check the inclusions. Sometimes the included amenities are limited and not very clearly described in the quote. So talk to your travel advisor to ensure you understand the things and services that are included.
- Binoculars are not always available in the safari jeep, so carry your own. These are very helpful to see the animals up close.

Expert guide, great food, and extra comfort
We were more than satisfied with our safari with Chalema. Communication was prompt, and they were flexible with the schedule.
Our special thanks go to our driver, Barnabas! He has deep knowledge of animals and their habits, and knows exactly where and when to find them. Barnabas is also a highly experienced driver who can handle rough dirt roads while spotting even small animals from a big distance at the same time. He was always willing to stop for a good shot or change position to get a better view. He shared a ton of information on zoology and geology with us, his explanations were truly profound.
Lunch was always a highlight of the day. While other groups had only a simple sandwich and a not-so-fresh apple, we enjoyed delicious meals with meat, chicken, pasta, and vegetables. Barnabas also brought a thermos of hot water for tea and coffee, along with sweets or cookies for dessert.
All in all, the safari was an amazing experience and far more comfortable than we could have expected.

An Unforgettable 9-Day Safari in Tanzania
We were fortunate to experience a complete and diverse 9-day safari with Chalema Tanzania Safaris. The itinerary was perfectly organized, combining different parks and landscapes:
- Tarangire: our first immersion, with majestic elephants and iconic baobabs.
- Ngorongoro Crater: a magical day in this one-of-a-kind site, teeming with wildlife.
- Serengeti (Central, South, and North, Mara River): several days in the heart of the endless plains, witnessing the Great Migration and observing big cats.
- Lake Natron: stunning volcanic landscapes, waterfall hikes, and encounters with the Maasai people.
Altogether, we explored four major parks and spent full days on safari, striking the perfect balance between wildlife discovery, cultural immersion, and relaxation in comfortable lodges.

Unforgettable experience!
We organized our 3-day safari with Joël: an incredible and unforgettable experience! We were picked up directly at the airport by Joël and our incredible guide for the trip: Harun. He is extremely knowledgeable about animal behavior, the fauna, and flora of Tanzania's thousands of hectares of parks. He speaks fluent French, and, above all, is extremely kind. He made sure we had a wonderful stay; we searched for all the animals, without being stuck with other tourist vehicles. The 4x4 is very comfortable, spacious, and really well-appointed, allowing us to fully enjoy the activity and rest during the drive to the Serengeti (even if this is difficult when the landscapes are so varied and the journey itself offers a safari and total immersion in the local culture).
We stayed at Embalakai, in magnificent and spacious tents, right in the heart of the savannah and the treasures this environment offers! We were lucky enough to be woken up early in the morning by a hyena and lion fight in the distance. The food served for the three days was excellent! A magical experience, which we recommend to everyone. We 10000% recommend the Chalema agency. Harun is an excellent guide, a big thank you to him! Joël is very professional, he greeted us upon our arrival, also, he made a point of seeing us upon our return before our flight. Many thanks to him for this wonderful trip.
