What makes or breaks an adventure such as this is the support that is there to help make it happen. Edison at Semu was a pleasure to deal with when putting our Gorilla/Chimpanzees trek together and Jimmy, our driver who facilitated other ideas always had a "no problem" attitude and a huge smile to start the day and throughout. He helped to make the experience even better than it could be. Thanks Edison, Thanks Jimmy, I would not hesitate to refer you to family and friends.

Great organisation by SEMU Gorilla safari and tours before even reaching the country. Edinson was helpful and reply to all my questions within minutes via WhatsApp. Excellent communication throughout the process (regarding accommodation, activities, payment etc.).
We were awaited at the airport upon arrival by Edison who introduced us to Jimmy Mukasa our guide for the tour.

Jimmy was super dynamic from the beginning, explaining a lot about the country, the journey and the activities ongoing. We had a lot of fun with him, he was both professional and friendly. He made us discover the country from his local perspective, trying local food (we shared millet bread, matoke, kitafeeri, Enturire etc.). Jimmy was caring and made every demand possible. If you need something, Jimmy will make it happen !

The trip fully lived up to our expectations. All the planning, activities, and transportation were exceptionally well organised and executed. The company provides best-in-class communication—always just a WhatsApp message away. They were extremely reliable and consistently made sure that everything was arranged in our best interest.

We were especially lucky to have Jimmy Mukasa as our guide, who truly made our trip memorable. He has exceptional leadership, influencing, and problem-solving skills. If you need something, you simply name it, and he will find a way to make it happen—even when it seems impossible. If something is taking too long, no worries—Jimmy takes care of it in a matter of moments.

Beyond his professionalism, Jimmy is incredibly caring and has a wonderful personality. He was always happy to explain important facts, share useful tips, and introduce us to new experiences and flavours. His passion and dedication made every moment of the trip even more special.

Without a doubt, this trip would not have been as memorable without Jimmy. We are incredibly grateful for everything he did and would highly recommend him as a guide.

We booked a safari with Semu Gorillas Safaris and Tours in June 2026 and had a fantastic 16-day trip through Uganda!
Uganda was on our bucket list for years and we had some specific wishes in our visit. We were recommended Semu through Facebook and from the first moment the contact felt very good and trustworthy. Semu helped us fit everything we wanted to do during the trip in the timeframe we had and their responses to our questions were always fast. We had some of our own ideas, but we also were well advised on what not to miss by Semu. Also when one of us got a knee injury right before the trip and there were some concerns about Ebola, they reassured us and took this into account.

We would like to give special thanks to Jimmy, our fantastic guide and driver, for our unforgettable time in Uganda. Jimmy made sure we were having a good time with his stories about Uganda, his humor, his big smile and his knowledge about the animals, nature and life in Uganda. He always made sure we were okay and we lacked nothing! Jimmy took our trip to a next level and made sure we saw everything we came for! Even though it also depended on nature, like he would say :) We enjoyed traveling together with Jimmy, spotting animals, doing mango stops and being a good team and of course having a lot of laughs together! he made our Uganda dreams come true!

Uganda is characterized by its diversity in landscapes and nature. This, together with countless types of animals and friendly locals makes it a highly recommended travel destination and a must visit. The nature is breathtaking and everything still looks unspoiled. It’s impossible to choose the best between so many highlights. The memories of our trip in Uganda will forever put a smile on our faces.
