I have just returned from a 7-day safari in Uganda with Ngori Safaris, and all I can say is that it was a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, the agency was extremely kind, flexible and professional, and I would especially like to highlight the excellent way they managed everything throughout the trip.
Our journey started with an unexpected situation: my travel companions arrived one day late because their flight was cancelled. Despite this, Ngori Safaris did everything they could to reorganise the itinerary and make sure we were still able to do practically everything we had planned. To me, this really shows the ability of a travel company to adapt to unexpected circumstances and find solutions so that travellers do not miss out on their experience.
In my case, I arrived before my companions and was alone in Entebbe. Steven came to pick me up at my hotel and arrived right on time, which immediately gave me a great sense of professionalism and reassurance.
As I still had a few hours before my companions arrived, Steven immediately made sure I was comfortable. He asked me what I would like to do and what I wanted to see, and he recommended different places for me to visit and enjoy my time in Entebbe. He was attentive to me throughout and made sure that, even though I was alone, I felt accompanied and very well looked after.
And I have to say that Steven deserves a very special mention.
Over those seven days, I discovered that he is much more than just a driver. He is a kind, warm, patient, fun and, above all, incredibly thoughtful person. He was constantly checking that we were okay, that we were comfortable, that we had everything we needed and that everything was to our liking. Always with a smile and a wonderful attitude.
As a driver, he is also exceptional. He knows Uganda, its roads, tracks and routes extremely well, and he makes you feel completely safe. You can immediately tell that he has a great deal of experience and knows the terrain inside out. Throughout the seven days, we did not have a single problem.
But what really makes Steven stand out is that he genuinely cares about making sure you have a great experience. He does not simply drive you from one place to another. He gave us recommendations, explained things to us along the way and paid attention to all those little details that made the trip much more comfortable and special.
He also ended up becoming our official photographer! 😂📸 He was always happy to take photos of us, looking for good spots and showing incredible patience. Thanks to him, we now have so many beautiful photographs and wonderful memories of the trip.
Another thing he took great care of was the food. Whenever we ate outside the hotels and lodges that had already been booked for us, Steven always made an effort to take us to good-quality local places, so that we could also experience Ugandan cuisine. One day, he took us to a local restaurant where we had the most incredible roast pork — incredibly tender and delicious. It was absolutely fantastic.
The organisation by Ngori Safaris was also excellent. When I arrived, everything was perfectly organised and I did not have to worry about paying for small expenses that were already included in the programme. Even the entrance fee to the Lake Victoria gardens and the juice I had at Java Café were included. These may seem like small details, but for a traveller they make everything so much easier and more relaxing.
Our safari was an express 7-day safari, as part of a 19-day trip around Uganda, so we really needed to make the most of our time. Despite this, we managed to do practically everything we wanted to do and we did not experience a single problem during the safari.
Even on the days when we changed lodges, everything was very well organised, and Steven was always there to make sure everything went smoothly and comfortably for us.
And there is one thing I would especially like to highlight: thanks to Steven, I had one of the best travel birthdays of my life. 🎂❤️ Throughout the trip, he went out of his way to make me feel special and surprised me several times with thoughtful gestures I was not expecting. He turned what was already a special birthday, celebrating it while travelling through Uganda, into an even more beautiful and unforgettable memory.

Amazing and perfect
The trip with Ngoni Safaris was spectacular; words can't do it justice.
From the very first moment, Sedrick answered all our questions and made suggestions for improvements. Communication was fluid, clear, and quick, which made the whole process much easier, as they took care of everything.
The vehicle, the flexibility with schedules, punctuality, the quality of the lodges, the service, and the dedication of the lodge staff were hard to beat. A truly wonderful safari and vacation that will leave Uganda etched in our memories and hearts forever.
I want to give a special mention to our driver, Steven. His skill and confidence behind the wheel, his experience, his knowledge of the places, roads, and people, as well as his patience, made him a key travel companion and leader, contributing to the spectacular experience I can't stress enough. He even organized lunch, dinner, cakes, and balloons when he learned we had a birthday coming up, which was going to be a surprise. He's always cheerful, he listens, he's very polite, and he's always giving 100%. How lucky we are!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An incredible experience in Uganda with NGONI Safaris
Today we finished our safari in Uganda, and I’m leaving with the feeling that I’ve experienced one of those trips I’ll remember for a very long time. The itinerary was very complete and allowed us to discover completely different places and landscapes: Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife, went chimpanzee trekking and, of course, experienced one of those moments that stay with you forever: coming face to face with mountain gorillas in Bwindi.
The lodges were also a really lovely part of the trip. Each one had something special and they all fitted perfectly into the itinerary: from Tilenga Safari Lodge in the Murchison Falls area, to Turaco Treetops surrounded by forest, Enshama, Dorotia’s in Bwindi and finally Milele Lodge overlooking beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. It was wonderful to see the landscape and accommodation change as we travelled through the country.
But if I have to highlight one person above everyone else, it has to be Steven Schumacher, our “small boss” 😂. I honestly don’t think we could have had a better companion for this trip. As a driver, he is incredible. He managed to take us along some roads that, to be honest, I’m not sure should even be called roads 😂, and he did it with incredible skill, patience and, above all, safety. I never felt unsafe, even on the most challenging journeys.
As a guide, he was fantastic too. Always alert to every animal, making sure we didn’t miss anything and always happy to explain everything we were seeing. But what I will remember most about Steven is the person he is. He was warm, funny, polite, incredibly attentive and always so caring towards us. We had some great conversations, lots of laughs and many moments that we’ll probably remember for a very long time. And in the end, that’s what makes a trip go from being simply a good trip to becoming a truly special one.
Steven, thank you for taking such good care of us, for your patience, the conversations, the laughs and for making sure that even after hours on the road, we still felt ready for another adventure. 😂 It was a real pleasure having you as our driver, guide and travel companion. Our “small boss” has definitely earned a special place in our memories of Uganda. ❤️
And thank you to the whole NGONI Safaris team for organising this trip and making everything run so smoothly. I’m leaving Uganda with incredible memories, thousands of photos, a few sore muscles after the trekking 😂 and, above all, the feeling that I’ve had a truly wonderful experience.
Thank you for everything, NGONI. And thank you, Steven, for making this trip even more special. ❤️🇺🇬🦍
If I ever come back to Uganda, I really hope I get to meet my “small boss” again. Because after seven days together… he’s definitely become part of the trip! 😂
A dream fulfilled, a family expanded, and a heart forever in East Africa.
When I first dreamed of visiting East Africa, I hoped I would see incredible wildlife. I never imagined I would leave with a full heart, unforgettable memories, and what feels like a new son.
From the moment Ngoni Tours welcomed us, every detail was handled with such care that I never had to worry about a thing. The lodges were beautiful, the food was wonderful, and every guide they selected was knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely passionate about sharing their home with us.
The itinerary was perfectly balanced. We experienced breathtaking game drives, saw more incredible wildlife than I ever thought possible, and immersed ourselves in the cultures and communities that make East Africa so special. While the animals were spectacular, it was the people who truly stole my heart. Their warmth, kindness, and joy made every destination feel like home.
There is one person who deserves special recognition, Reagan. He began this journey as our guide, but by the end of our adventure, he had become family. His kindness, patience, sense of humor, knowledge, and genuine care made every day even more meaningful. I jokingly told everyone that I was bringing home a new son, but there is more truth to that than anyone realizes. Reagan, you will always have a special place in my heart.
To the entire Ngoni Tours team, thank you for making a lifelong dream come true. You didn't just plan a vacation, you created an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you for showing me the beauty of East Africa through its landscapes, its wildlife, and most importantly, its incredible people.
I arrived hoping to check something off my bucket list. I returned with memories that will last forever and a piece of my heart that will always belong in East Africa.
