Once in a lifetime experience!

I researched a lot when planning our honeymoon and my husband and I are so glad we traveled with African Big Cats. We were able to add on a few extra adventures and activities (Day Hike at Mount Kilimanjaro and Hot Air Balloon in the Serengeti are musts!). I had lots of questions during the planning process and they were great to answer, clarify things, and offer different ideas. Our tour guide, Rick was fantastic! Super informative and ensured we got to see everything we were hoping to and more! Each accomodation was lovely, and each made us feel so special, surprising us each time and celebrating our honeymoon! We've told everyone we know if they want to travel to Tanzania they must use African Big Cats.

Our recent trip to Tanzania was honestly one of the best experiences of our lives. It felt like living inside a nature documentary one moment, and a tropical daydream the next.

We started with a safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti — and it was beyond anything we’d imagined. Our guides (Obedi and Frank) were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also nice, funny, and patient. Every day brought new surprises: elephants walking right beside our vehicle, lions and leopards lounging in the shade, and endless herds of wildebeest and zebra stretching across the plains — absolute magic.

The lodges were beautiful and welcoming, with amazing food and the friendliest staff. Sitting around the campfire at night, listening to the sounds of the bush, felt surreal.
After days of adventure, we flew to Zanzibar — and wow, what a paradise. The beaches were pure white, the water crystal clear, and the atmosphere completely peaceful. We spent our days swimming, snorkeling, wandering through Stone Town, and just soaking up the island vibe.
Tanzania stole our hearts. The people, the landscapes, the wildlife — everything exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and we came home feeling completely inspired (and already planning our next visit!). Thank you to Naomi, Obedi, Frank and everyone at African Big Cats Safari who made our trip truly life-changing!

If you’ve ever dreamed of going on safari or visiting Zanzibar, don’t wait — just do it. It’s truly life-changing!

Great Safari – great Guide

I think we were very lucky choosing Big Cats Safari. We had a really great guide. Why? A lot of operators name it „guide“ but they are just drivers. Our guide has really great knowledge of animals and flora. Could explain dependencies. And – we don’t know how – he was always in the best position with our jeep to see/meet the animals. Spotted cheetah were others just saw gras. He made this Safari for my whole family a really memorable experience! Thank you Festo – 12 of possible 10 points!

The organization was perfect for us: 1,5 days Tarangire, 2 days Serengeti, 1 day Ngorongoro and 0,5 days Manyara. Pls be ready to meet really bumpy roads for lots of kilometers (ist even for the passengeres tiring). You should be aware – early bird catches the biggest worm 😉 - we got up at 5 AM, leaving the lodge latest at 6.30 AM but it was worth it. The lodges organized by Big Cats Safari were exact what we like – very clean, safe, but not overacting. Espacially happy with the „..tented lodges“ (Burunge and 2x Embalakai); warm and friendly, food was fine and the price for drinks in our opinion more than fair. You can’t be nearer to wildlife – a Giraffe, an Elephant 3 meter next to your terrasse in the night/morning is overwhelming.
Of course in some lodges you can find room for (minor) improvements and „the better is the enemy of the good“ but nothing to complain.

Our experience with African Big Cats Safaris was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The communication was clear and professional right from the beginning, and every question we had was answered quickly and thoroughly.

The drivers and guides were exceptional — very professional, knowledgeable, and deeply respectful of nature. Their persistence and passion for finding the animals made every game drive exciting and rewarding. We learned so muchabout the wildlife, their behaviors, and even their individual names, which made the experience truly special.

The choice of lodges was excellent, comfortable, and well-matched to each location. The entire journey felt seamless and well organized. A big thank you to Naomi for her clear and consistent communication behind the scenes, and to ourfriendly guides — Daniel in Kenya, and Endeni and Gifty in Tanzania — for making us feel so comfortable and turning our safari into a true cultural discovery, not just a trip.
