Highly recommended! Efficient, great communication, so helpful.
Rare 5 star service! Superb communication, advice, whole experience, timing, care & with excellent value for money!
I cannot speak highly enough of James Mwalata and the service he provided to us.
We booked a 5 day safari and 2 days relaxing at Diani beach.
We booked a year ago with careful thought to our lodge accommodation and beach resort.
We were offered initial choices of lodges / hotel and with some research made a couple of changes, very easily and willingly done!
We stayed at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge x 1
Ziwani vogager camp/Tented x 1
Saltlick safari lodge x 1
Voi safari lodge x1
Baobab beach hotel/spa resort x 2
We were met warmly at our independently booked hotel in Nairobi by James himself on the morning after we arrived. Promptly at the time we had agreed. He introduced us to our amazing safari driver Pollycarp.
James then left us with Pollycarp who escorted us everywhere for the 5 days on safari. He was the best driver we could have wished for! Full of knowledge and very experienced on the game drives, locating animals and knowing where to drive and reach animals before other vehicles to get the most amazing experiences! Far more than we could have wished for!
We saw a female cheetah on the first day with 4 young cubs (18mths old)! It really took our breath away!
We saw so many elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelope, water buffalo, wildebeest, warthogs, impala, oryx, hippos, agama lizards, puff adder, Egyptian spitting cobra, Kori bustard birds, secretary birds, mongoose, dik diks, hartebeest antelope, fish eagle, superb starling and so many more!!
Then we found a beautiful leopard! And to see her so close up, right at the side of the jeep what a real treat. Then a few lions!
In fact soooo many animals all looking so healthy. An absolute joy to see them in their natural environment.
Ziwani was a very special place. Our personal favourite. Like being in paradise. Sitting drinking cocktails overlooking a lake with hippos and crocodiles on an island in front of you! All the Staff were gave the very best service at this location.
The whole trip was easy, flexible on timings and ran like clockwork. We felt like we were in the very best of hands.
Our departing flight time was changed by the airline on the day, and we were immediately told about this by James and given 2 alternative flight times to choose from. He escorted us to the airport from the beach hotel and made sure we knew exactly where we needed to go to get on the plane safely.
We are so grateful to both James and Pollycarp for the very best experience we could possibly have wished for!! A huge thank you to you both!
What a way to spend our son’s 23rd birthday and our 25th anniversary!
A very special memory for us all.
Wildlife Sun Safaris 5 Day safari - Amboseli, Ziwani, Salt Lick Lodge, Voi Tsavo east, Malindi
I had an amazing time on this tour. Leaving from Nairobi and arriving a few hours later in Amboseli, there were giraffes within minutes of entering the park. I upgraded to stay at Sentrim Lodge, which I was glad of. The food was brilliant and the accommodation was unbelievable. With a great view of Kilimanjaro, I was blown away.
The game drive was brilliant, plenty of zebras, birdlife, apes and best of all elephants in herds. Another game drive in the morning provided even more animal life. From here we moved on to Voyager Ziwani lodge - the drive is not for the faint hearted, some of the terrain is very rough but thankfully cleared it before feeling to bad. Another brilliant accommodation - watch out for the crocodiles lazing in the sun! The food here was also good, although the restaurant chairs have little back support.
Shout out to Wilson, who took me on an afternoon game walk. He was amazing, so knowledgeable, friendly and with great information. It was hot, so sun cream is a must. After a few hours, there was an evening game drive. For the first 3 quarters, I saw very little - but watching a group of lions hunt down and eat a wildebeest right at the end made it worthwhile and so much more.
Day three was on to Salt Lick Lodge - accommodation on stilts, which was my favourite. I saw wildlife and elephants from my room. The game drives were a little les interesting - fewer animals, but some good elephants and giraffes. Not much on the morning game drive on day 4. Plenty of food options, even if I storm knocked the power out for a few minutes, there was a dramatic view of the lightning.
Day 4 was to Tsavo East, and Voi Safari lodge. The room here was the most basic of the trip, and the offer of a room ready earlier meant that mine had no view. The restaurant had an amazing view of the plains, quite a sight to get elephants drinking below while eating above. The food choice was a little basic too but plenty of it so I was happy. Plenty of elephants to be seen, as well as wildebeest and zebras. Also saw a buffalo taking a bath.
Day 5 was a morning game drive, then a tour through the park and on to Malindi, my final destination. The drive through the park was a little rough due to the terrain, I think this is a road less used by tours.
Overall, this was a brilliant trip, I cannot recommend it enough. Even the quieter game drives had some unforgettable moments, food was plentiful and delicious, my driver, Toya, was a great companion, the accommodation was such a treat.

The bestia agency
If you are looking for someone who can make you live a safari in Kenya at its best, you are in the right place!
We were lucky enough to know the agency of Mr. James and to have as a driver the excellent Mr. Willy during our safari of 4 days 3 nights, perfect organization and great professionalism!

Just good enough.
Generally speaking, the experience was quite good. However, there were some points that we did not like at all.
First of all, the visit to the "Masai village" from the Enkorok Mara Camp hotel. The hotel is very nice. However, we had a very bad experience with the visit to the “Masai village”. It is not worth visiting it at all. We were 2 adults and 1 kid. We pay 70$ for a 15-20 minutes visit plus the big market that they make ready just after finishing the visit to try to sell to you different kind of items.
Regardless of the cost, the worst point was the feeling we got after the visit. We felt that the only and main aim of the visit was to get money from the foreigners, not to show a real Masai village.
The hotel itself is not directly involved in this visit/activity, but they are aware of the situation. In fact, one of the hotel staff members were directly involved in the visit as an inhabitant of the Masai village. Therefore, they should advise their clients about the details of the activity.
Second one, we got the feeling that our guide was "just doing his job" without providing any extra advice or knowledge of many points related to the trip. For example, he does not advise us on how to deal with the shopping at the markets. He neither advise us on the visit to the Masai village. In fact, he even recommended us to go to the Masai village.
Therefore, it could have been quite better.

Unique experience
It has been a wonderful experience. The agency has behaved with excellent professionalism.
