Friendly, finding us a great team to Kilimanjaro!
A huge thank to Crater Explorer Safari for organizing an unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro trek for us! The owner, Emanuel, is incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and tailored every detail of our itinerary perfectly to our needs.
Our lead guide, Richard, and his young apprentice, George, were the absolute dream team—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely hilarious. They kept our spirits high with great stories along the trail and somehow mastered the art of adjusting the pace to match our fitness levels. Whenever we felt like collapsing, their relentless positivity kept us putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks to them, our not-so-athletic crew actually made it to Gillman’s Point!
It was undeniably tough, but the breathtaking summit views made every single drop of sweat worth it. Highly recommend Crater Explorer Safari to anyone dreaming of Kili!

Great 4 day Meru trek
The trek was wonderful! This is a perfect option for people who want to hike and see animals and don't have the time/money/stamina for Kilimanjaro. Tough summit day.
The huts were clean, everything ran smoothly, and our crew did a great job. Our guide Mike was knowledgeable, encouraging, and easygoing. Lots of big tasty meals - you won't go hungry.
Communication with the company was easy, though I had to ask questions to get all the info I needed. So don't hesitate to text/email to coordinate. Emanuel helped arrange sleeping bag rentals for us and has an easy deposit system in place for payment.
It was very helpful to have the hotel included for the night before and the night after. Made planning and luggage storage easy.

It was the worst possible start to our safari.
When we were communicating with the tour company about paying the remaining balance, Emmanuel did not show up at the agreed time. He contacted us and said, “I’m at church now, so I’ll be one hour late.” However, even after an hour had passed, he still did not show up.
We were very disappointed and became worried about paying the safari fee. We started to feel that we could not trust the company. We even wondered whether this might be a scam company where we would pay the remaining $370 and then the safari vehicle would never come to pick us up on the day of the safari.
After another two hours, he finally arrived. He told us, “I will never do this again. The safari tour is safe and reliable. Hakuna Matata.”
On another day, a different member of our group went to pay the remaining balance. Even then, there were several things that made us worried. He tried to change the agreed meeting time repeatedly at the last minute, and he also seemed to have misunderstood the starting date of our safari.
We may also have been too easily irritated by small things, and there are certainly things we can reflect on. However, since this was our first contact with the tour company, it was very unpleasant to have someone casually arrive several hours late without showing much sign of regret or concern about the situation.
Fortunately, the safari itself went smoothly. The food was very delicious, and the safari vehicle arrived to pick us up on time on the actual day. We were also able to see many of the animals we had hoped to see, so overall, we were satisfied with the safari experience.
I sincerely hope that Emmanuel will keep his promises and respect agreed times, so that other customers will not have to experience the same kind of situation.
I look forward to seeing how Emmanuel handles his work in the future. Thank you for taking care of us. We really enjoyed the safari.

Had an amazing time on a 4-day safari adventure in serengeti, ngorongoro an tarangire national park with crater explorer!
The communication with Emanuel before and after booking was great and uncomplicated and everything was well organized. So crater explorer is highly recommended!

Safari 4 days
We have just finished a 4-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, and the experience was absolutely incredible. We had the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals in breathtaking landscapes, and every day exceeded our expectations.
We would especially like to highlight the outstanding work of Omar, our driver, and James, our guide. Both were professional, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our experience the best possible. Omar drove us safely and comfortably through all the parks, always finding the best spots to observe wildlife.
The service we received was exceptional from day one. Their kindness, friendliness, and dedication truly made a difference and turned this safari into an unforgettable experience.
