Trip Cancelled By African Safari Guru Shortly Before Departure
Our 2025 safari with African Safari Guru was cancelled less than three weeks before departure after we had paid in full. Communication and refund follow-up were difficult, and only a small portion of our payment was returned. It was a disappointing experience after many months of planning. Travelers should confirm refund policies and have strong travel insurance before booking with this company.

Ideal planner for an idyllic holiday
Dealing with logistics is the last thing I want to worry about during my holiday, and planning for a trip to Africa involves LOGISTICS. African Safari Guru took all that worry out of my hands. They have local knowledge and expertise, and took care of everything. There were small hiccups with local vendors but those were swiftly handled. My family and I were well taken care of every step of the way; starting from airport transfers to guides, to the beautiful accommodations, to well-paced activities to our liking.
Details are handled pre trip when you book the trip, with clear instructions, and prompt replies. Just make sure you communicate clearly with the agent handling your tour plan about your wishes, and they will customize accordingly.

Matthew Grace (owner / operator of "Grace of Africa" accommodation in Marloth Park (next to Kruger National Park), and Tour owner / operator of "African Safari Guru", came highly recommended by friends and exceeded our expectations. Matthew put together an outstanding itinerary based on our "bucket list" destinations (and some recommended by him) and ensured our trip was seamless in transfer between destinations, and diverse in exposure. Each experience was unique and impressive in its own right. Local guides were knowledgeable, and the level of customer service and hospitality demonstrated by the staff at every destination was impeccable. Epic trip of a lifetime
The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Matt was super helpful and the accommodation and tours were out of this world. We had been wanting to do Safari in RSA for some time and this trip did not disappoint! We are a family of four (2 x kids 11 and 14) and everyone had the time of their life. We would highly recommend!

When planning for this trip I came across Matt at African Safari Guru. Over a number of months we corresponded over the proposed trip and what we wanted to see and do and even included some of Matt's suggestions. By taking the time to listen to what we wanted, the 12 day trip went off without a hitch and provided us with great accommodation and even better experiences, all the while ensuring we could get from A to B without any issues.
I have no doubt that if we are seeking to go back to Africa and experience something different and new Matt would be our first point of contact to arrange everything for us due to his wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding what his clients want.
