I recently had the absolute privilege of staying at Ku Sungula Lodge for a 7-night safari experience, and it was worth every single penny. This is a true hidden gem that delivers far beyond expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the spectacular views and the incredible variety of wildlife. We saw practically all the animals we had hoped for — big cats, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and an endless parade of plains game. The scenery is simply breathtaking at every turn. What truly sets Ku Sungula apart is the quality of the safari experience. This is not a commercialised safari where you drive on tarmac roads with dozens of other vehicles. Instead, we explored true wilderness terrain on exciting off-road drives that felt raw, authentic, and deeply immersive. The variety was outstanding too — we enjoyed terrain safaris around the lodge, wonderful water safaris, and fantastic day trips into Kruger National Park. The accommodation in the traditional rondavels is superb — stylish, spacious, very comfortable, and perfectly blending with the natural surroundings. Every detail felt luxurious yet authentic. The staff is exceptionally kind and professional, and our rangers and trackers were simply outstanding. Their knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to find animals were world-class. They made every drive an unforgettable adventure. If you're looking for an authentic, high-quality safari experience with heart, I cannot recommend Ku Sungula Lodge highly enough. This was the best safari we’ve ever had. We’ll be back!

The week we spent at Ku Sungula was the highlight of our three weeks in South Africa. The communication during booking, including organisation of transfers, was efficient and helpful. The accomodation and food were excellent and the staff invariably friendly and helpful. The game drives in the Olifants West Game Reserve were some of the best we've experienced in Africa, with a wide variety of animals, including rhino, elephant, hippo and lion. For added variety our package also included an enjoyable overnight excursion to the Kruger National Park and a day trip along the impressive Panorama Route.

I would like to thank the staff for a wonderful vacation on behalf of myself and my friends. Congratulations on such a well-organized stay in a beautiful place and on the wonderful team who looked after us.
I hope I have the opportunity to return to this place someday.

Ku Sungula Safari Lodge was a once in a lifetime experience. We so enjoyed our 5 night stay (wished it was longer)! The accommodations were lovely and the staff exceptional- very friendly and helpful with an amzing chef- best meals I had during our month long trip in southern Africa. The safari guides and trackers were also exceptional- big thanks to Sam, John, Confidence and DJ for showing us the lion eating a kudo kill while the cubs watched on, the black rhino mom and babes grazing, elephants taking a mud bath, hyena and her cubs, perfect sunsets (and sundowner stops) and all the rest! Also, do a walking tour if you get the change- really informative! Book this lodge- you will be happy you did!

Coming to South Africa and staying at Ku Sungula Lodge was the best decision ever. We have traveled all over the world and this trip was by far the best and most impactful. Our guides John and Sam were amazing in watching for our safety, taking up up close and personal to the animals and teaching us so much on tracking and the area. My fantasy was met on seeing a pride of lions and being about 10 feet from them. The overnight at Kruger was great and Sam took great care of us and we saw so much. Our rondavel " Lion" was great. It had everything we needed and was beautiful. The chef, Li was great. Food was fresh and delicious. The whole lodge area was beautiful and colorful with flowers everywhere. Just loved this vacation and hope to come back again sometime. We did the 6 day and could have easily done another 6. Loved the game drives and did every single one.
