True Uganda experience

Traveling with Amatsiko was the best choice I could have made. Alex is an amazing person and guided us through the most beautiful places in Uganda as we were his family. He was ready to make us happy with any request and always answered all our questions since the very beginning.
He really made our journey experience unique and the great work he is doing with the childrens at Amatsiko School showed us how everyone should have the chance to choose who he or she wants to be. So call Alex and go to Uganda not only for its nature but also for its people and you want regret it!!

From start to finish, the tour was handled with top-tier service and crystal-clear communication. More than just a tour

We felt so lucky to have discovered Alex of Amatsiko Tours, who curated our two weeks itinerary for Uganda. Our hope of gaining insights into community life and culture, in addition to the magnet of gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, was far exceeded with the experiences we had. Welcomed by many people in out of the way places, Alex’s connections with community are very evident. Our visit to Uganda was made very special by Amatsiko Tours - wonderful accommodation, a huge variety of activities including walking safaris, game drives, tribal and rural visits and more. We spent 2 weeks travelling around Uganda with Amatsiko Tours (Alex) and we could not have wished for a better experience. The itinerary covered everything from visiting the gorillas, chimps game drives, visiting Communities and learning about Ugandan Culture.. all fascinating and educational. If you’re considering a trip to Uganda, stop searching. Amatsiko Tours is in a class entirely of its own.

From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with a level of care and professionalism that made the entire experience effortless. Airport pickup, beautiful accommodations, seamless transportation, and delicious meals. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged. We were driven in a spotless, comfortable vehicle and never once had to worry about logistics. We could simply be present and absorb the experience.

But what truly sets Amatsiko apart is Alex and Alphonse.

They don’t just guide you. They invite you into the heart of Uganda. Their English is flawless, their knowledge is deep, and their pride in their country is evident in everything they share. Through them, we didn’t feel like tourists. We felt welcomed into a community that few get to experience.

We visited a school serving some of the most vulnerable children in the region. It was an experience that was deeply moving and impossible to forget. We traveled into a remote mountain village where Amatsiko is actively changing lives by helping families install water tanks and filtration systems so they no longer have to make exhausting daily treks for water, and supporting sustainable rabbit breeding programs to provide much-needed protein. These weren’t staged visits. They were real, human, and profoundly impactful.

At the same time, they showcased the breathtaking beauty of Uganda—the sweeping mountain landscapes, the warmth and joy of the people, and the richness of everyday life in a way that felt authentic and respectful.

And then, the pinnacle: the gorilla trek. A true once-in-a-lifetime experience, perfectly coordinated and executed without a single hitch.

What stays with us most, though, is Alex and Alphonse themselves. Their integrity, kindness, and passion elevate this from a “great trip” to something transformational. Meeting them, hearing their stories, and seeing the difference they are making in their communities is something that will stay with us forever.
