Great experience from start to finish
Our safari trip was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. Ritesh did a fantastic job planning everything — he was always quick to respond, attentive to details, and ensured that all logistics ran smoothly.
A special highlight of our trip was our guide, Minda. He is truly outstanding. Thanks to his experience and deep knowledge, we were able to see all of the Big Five, which was incredible. What really stood out was his ability to go beyond the obvious — there were several moments where he took us to spots other drivers hadn’t reached, and it paid off in unforgettable ways. We got remarkably close to both a leopard and a rhino, which was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Minda is also incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife. He could recognize animals even from a long distance without using binoculars, which was very impressive. Beyond that, he shared a wealth of zoological facts about each animal we encountered. This made the experience much more meaningful — it wasn’t just about seeing the animals, but truly learning about them, and that knowledge came directly from Minda.
He was extremely punctual and professional throughout the trip. The vehicle was in excellent condition — very new and cleaned every single day, which made a big difference in comfort.
We were a group of 7 people — two families traveling with three children aged 6 to 9 — so having the right guide was especially important for us. Minda was a perfect match: patient, engaging, and made the experience enjoyable for both adults and kids.
I highly recommend Shayona Safaris to anyone looking for a well-organized, seamless safari experience. And if you can, ask for Minda — he will make sure every dollar you spend is absolutely worth it.

Very friendly accommodating and thorough
We were 9 in our group. On arrival we were met by our two drivers and they had welcome bags for us and goodies for the safari. Our drivers were very knowledgeable and tried their best to make us comfortable and make our safari experience a memorable one.

Our drivers went above and beyond to make sure we saw all the animals and that we were comfortable the entire trip. Very knowledgeable about animals and behaviours, we learnt a lot.

My wife and I just got done with our honeymoon safari we did with Shayona Safari. In short I could not imagine doing a safari with any other outfitter.
From the beginning of the booking process Ritesh and Ajay had been attentive, helpful, and flexible to sorting out issues as they came up. I am greatly appreciative that they helped me sort out all the quirks and fun of international payments.
We flew from Texas to Zanzibar and they texted us and followed up with us on the trip the entire time. They went above and beyond to ensure we made it safely to the Serengeti. Once in the Serengeti we met up with our driver Karim. Karim was so kind and friendly when we met him. He found us when we landed and took great care of us from safari to dropping us at the hotel. He showed up on time and performed well above expectations. He also knew all the spots to find the big 5! He is certainly a great asset to their organization and helps drive focus on client experience and engagement.
We had a great trip with amazing memories thanks to the planning, coordination, and sounds operation of Shayona Safaris. We will be recommending them to anyone who asks us who to use for Safari in Tanzania. Highly recommend. We wish we had more days on Safari!
