Bavuma Wild Quest gave us an unforgettable safari with amazing guides and wildlife.
5/5

We had a wonderful safari with Bavuma Wild Quest, starting in Nairobi and ending in Arusha. Considering we booked this trip at the very last minute, Joshua, the owner, was outstanding in arranging everything quickly and making sure we were well taken care of upon arrival.

Our first guide, Chris, picked us up in Nairobi and we absolutely loved him. He was polite, easy-going, very knowledgeable, and made our time in Masai Mara unforgettable. The lodge was clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and the staff everywhere we went were warm and attentive. A tip for future travelers—if your flight arrives after 8am, you likely won’t have time for a Masai Mara game drive that same day, as the drive from Nairobi to the park is much longer than it looks on paper. Staying inside the park would also be a great choice to maximize game-viewing time.

After crossing into Tanzania, we were handed over to Emmanuel, who was equally fantastic. He had a real gift for positioning us close to the animals, always making sure we had the best opportunities for photos. He was incredibly patient with our constant excitement—especially every time we spotted baby animals—and never rushed us. Emmanuel often shared meals with us as well, which made for great conversations and gave us a wonderful glimpse into everyday life in Tanzania.

The hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti was truly a highlight and highly recommended. Each of the accommodations we stayed at were comfortable, spacious, and matched the level of safari we booked. Being inside the parks was especially nice, as it saved travel time and gave us a more immersive experience.

A quick practical note for future travelers: tipping in USD is widely preferred in Kenya and Tanzania (guides, resorts, balloon operators, etc.), but it’s very hard to find small bills once you arrive. We recommend bringing plenty of $1s and $5s from home so you’re prepared.

Overall, Bavuma Wild Quest gave us an incredible safari filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, comfortable stays, and guides who went above and beyond. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone planning a trip to East Africa.

From lions to leopards to cheetahs, Bavuma Wild Quest made sure we saw it all
5/5

We booked our safari with Bavuma Wild Quest very last minute (literally from the plane before takeoff!) and Joshua, the owner, was super responsive and had everything ready for us when we landed in Nairobi. Overall, we had a wonderful trip and saw so many incredible animals, but I also want to share some helpful tips for future travelers.

Our first guide, Chris, picked us up at the airport and he was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, talkative, and easy-going. We loved him. The first stop was Masai Mara. Just a heads up: the drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara is long, and if your flight doesn’t land before 8am, it’s pretty much impossible to do a game drive that same day, even though the itinerary made it seem doable. We ended up going straight to our resort as the sun was setting. The resort itself was clean, comfy, and welcoming, though I’d probably choose to stay inside the park next time to avoid the extra driving.

Day 2 in Masai Mara was incredible. Chris got us up close to so many animals, including a cheetah, and he always stopped whenever we were excited about something—which was often! Day 3 was the toughest travel day, with about 9 hours on the road getting into Tanzania and meeting our new guide, Emmanuel. The itinerary made it seem like we’d have more time in the Northern Serengeti that day, but in reality we only got about 2 hours. Thankfully, those 2 hours were magical—we saw amazing wildlife and an unforgettable sunset. The lodge in Northern Serengeti was inside the park and absolutely worth it.

The hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti the next morning was a highlight—highly recommend it. From there, we headed to Central Serengeti, where we spotted a leopard, then later to Ngorongoro Crater. The crater was beautiful, but personally I preferred Masai Mara and Northern Serengeti more.

Overall, we had some hiccups with timing and long drives, but that’s partly the nature of safari travel and partly due to the way the itinerary was presented. The accommodations were great for what we booked, the staff everywhere were friendly, and both of our guides were excellent. If you’re considering Bavuma Wild Quest, I’d definitely recommend them, just go in knowing that travel between parks takes longer than you might expect, and if possible, try to stay inside the parks for more time with the animals.

Simply the best!
5/5

This was truly incredible, like experiencing National Geographic in real life. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The organization was smooth, the guides were outstanding, the accommodations were stunning, and the food was delicious. All we had to do was relax and enjoy the breathtaking views and incredible wildlife.

We traveled from Kenya to Tanzania and I would choose this experience with Bavuma again in a heartbeat.

We had the best time.

Unforgettable Safari Adventure Across Kenya and Tanzania
5/5

We booked our safari honeymoon with Bavuma Wild Quest and it was an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, communication with Joshua was fast, clear, and super helpful – he listened to our wishes, gave great recommendations, and created a tailor-made itinerary that worked out perfectly in terms of timing and activities.

On the ground, everything was organized seamlessly. In Kenya, our guide Chris was not only professional but also incredibly kind and knowledgeable. In Tanzania, David guided us with the same warmth and expertise. Both of them quickly became more than just guides – they felt like friends we were sharing this adventure with.

The cultural visit to a Maasai village, the stunning game drives in Masai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater, and finally ending the journey in Arusha all came together beautifully. The logistics, transfers, and accommodations were all handled smoothly, so we never had to worry about a thing.

What also stood out was the transparency and fairness in pricing. Before booking, I had contacted other agencies and often felt like the quotes were unnecessarily inflated. With Bavuma, everything was clear and fair, which gave us real confidence.

Overall, Bavuma Wild Quest delivered way beyond our expectations. Their communication, service, and reliability are excellent, and the value for money is outstanding. We are deeply grateful for the memories created during our honeymoon and would recommend Bavuma to anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime safari adventure.

Ngorongoro to Serengeti - A different travel experience
5/5

BWQ is best for those who want to make a positive impact through travel, not just travel. One of the best travel experiences of my life was the 6-day Magical Crater Serengeti & Tarangire Safari with Bavuma Wild Quest. Not only the wildlife and charming nature, but the humanity and sustainability in their travel plans is what makes it stand out. From empowering locals to caring for the environment - everything seems to be making a meaningful connection with travel. The sight of animals roaming freely in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater was absolutely magical!
