Golden Rwanda made our trip to Rwanda one of our best trips ever!
Our family of four (2 parents and 2 kids aged 17 and 21) wanted to go to Rwanda to do gorilla trekking but the more we learned about Rwanda, the more time we wanted to spend in the country. We reached out to Golden Rwanda and they did an excellent job helping me organize what turned out to be a 16 day trip! Communication with Frank (the owner) was excellent and we landed on a trip were we would go to the genocide memorial in Kigali, Nyanza royal palace, Nyungwe National Park (chimpanzee trekking, hiking, and colobus moneys), Lake Kivu (coffee plantation, fruit bats, and relaxation), Volcanoes National Park (2 days gorilla trekking & 1 day golden monkeys), and Akagera National Park (2 days in the south, 3 days in the north). We have traveled quite extensively in and out of Africa and this trip ranks up there with one of the best ones we have done. We were picked up by our guide/driver (Taufique) late at night in Kigali and quickly dropped off a the Governors Residence for a good night's rest (highly recommend this place). We would spend the next 16 days with Taufique in Rwanda. The two days of gorilla trekking were something that had to be reserved well ahead of time (Golden Rwanda did this for us) but everything else in the trip would be discussed the day before. I love this approach of having an outline of a plan but adjusting it along the way depending on the desires of the group. This was something that we have rarely had with a tour guide and it made the trip fantastic!!! We ended up experiencing things that were not in the original plan (such as ziplining in Nyungwe, the fruit bats on Napoleon Island, colobus monkeys in Nyungwe, walking with rhinos in Akagera, coffee plantation on the edge of Mount Kivu) and also eliminated some things that were too much (i.e. an extra day hiking in Volcanoes NP). Taufique was a master of logistics...getting us to where we needed to go, making sure lodging was ready for us, organizing food/coffee stops, and recommending activities along the way. He basically organized everything. Additionally...he was our wildlife guide in Akagera (which is a phenomenal park!!). So...first of all...go to Rwanda for more than gorillas....Nyungwe, Akagera, and Lake Kivu were particularly fantastic. It is an AMAZING country with so much to see and really nice people. Second...GO with Golden Rwanda and have them run the trip for you. It was fantastic and I highly recommend them!

Beyond our expectations!
I found Golden Rwanda Safari’s from reading reviews online. After contacting Frank, the owner, I just had a good feeling about this company. He had an initial package that combined Rwanda mountain gorillas with Kenyan safari’s (my dream trip). We planned the 12 day trip and Frank was so patient with me as I customized so many parts of it. We paid for the trip ahead of time to guarantee good hotel rates per Frank’s suggestion. As we got close to the trip, I worried a little if all would go well since no one I knew had used Golden Rwanda Safaris. I could not have been happier. We were met at the airport by our amazing Rwandan guide, Sufiane. He took care of us like we were family. We had beautiful hotel rooms (I think often the best rooms of the hotel) and a very comfortable truck. Sufiane always kept us informed of timing and sights we were seeing. Rwanda is so beautiful and seeing the Mountains Gorilla’s was beyond amazing.
We flew to Kenya and we were met by our Kenyan guide, David. Again, he treated us like family. He is so knowledgeable about the animals and could spot them so quickly. He kept us on track for all our safari’s and since it was just two of us with David, he would tailor the day to what we wanted to see. We had a comfy pop up roof truck that had windows you could easily close (to avoid dust). Our hotels were fantastic and it was hard to leave sometimes. The hospitality in Kenya and Rwanda is wonderful.
The cost of our trip was similar to many other tour companies. We had no added fees, whatsoever, when we were there. The customer service, communication and reliability of Golden Rwanda made this a trip of a lifetime. We were able to have dinner with Frank, which was really a personal touch and unexpected. We saw the Big 5 along with so many other animals and we were up close and personal with many of them. I would not hesitate to use Golden Rwanda Safaris again and I highly recommend them to anyone traveling to East Africa!!

Frank is honest and trustworthy.
I rented a car to go to Akagera and Lake Kivu. I got a fair price and excellent service.

Fantastic company - Trip of a lifetime
Thank you so much Golden Rwanda Safaris! What an amazing and unbelievable trip. I went as a solo female and was well taken care of the entire time. My guide Muhamed is fantastic. Very knowledgeable and made sure everything was taken care of. The owner Frank is quick to respond to messages. Everything was so well organized for my 1 week trip. The lodges felt like 5 stars, people were so nice, gorillas and Akagera were amazing, had time to visit a coffee farm. Thanks again for organizing this trip of a lifetime.

A wonderful experience
I did a one day Safari trip to Akagera and it was a highlight of my trip to Rwanda and Golden Rwanda Safari played a HUGE part in this.
First of all, it was very last minute. I decided to do it based on friend's experience and I booked it the evening before the trip. It was the only possibility for me and they accepted my request, no problem.
Second, my driver Mico is such a nice guide. He will do everything he can for you to have a great experience and see as much as animals as possible. I felt really at ease with him.
Third, the breakfast was excellent! So much choice!
Finally and most importantly, the Akagera park is beautiful and you will get to see so many animals in their habitat. I saw a mama Rhino and her baby and it was incredible.
I can only recommend Golden Rwanda Safari. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing first safari in Rwanda!
This was my first African safari experience, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Golden Rwanda Safari was recommended to me and did not disappoint!
My guide was Muhammad and he was fun, informative and flexible! Great communication and I got to see 4 of the big 5, lots of zebra, giraffes, baboons, hippoes & birds galore!

Highly recommended - had an amazing experience
I had an amazing experience with Golden Rwanda Safaris. Frank, the owner, was incredibly responsive as I booked and coordinated the trip via both email and WhatsApp and Sufiane was an absolutely amazing guide. He was extremely friendly, fun to hang out with, and had an amazing knowledge of the park and all of the animals that we saw. His ability to spot animals and point them out to me was insane. He spotted a few lions in the tall grass and was very patient with me as it took me more than 5 minutes to see them myself.
Overall, the experience was incredible and I plan on booking with them again the next time I'm in Rwanda.

Great service - super friendly and helpful
Myself and a colleague were in Rwanda for a business trip and decided to take advantage with a few days in the national park.
The company was very communicative and easy to deal with. The service from Sufiani as our guide / driver was also great - very helpful, friendly, and knowledgable from the outset, picked us straight up from the airport and solved any issue or request we had over the 3/4 days. Would definitely recommend 👍
Hopefully will be back with the family at some point, and would defintely use again.

Responsive, reliable, and responsible
We just returned from Akagera National Park in Rwanda. There were quite a few tour operators to choose from as we were planning our trip and making a selection was a little overwhelming. We finally settled on Golden Rwanda Safaris because Frank (the owner) was extremely responsive on WhatsApp. The other companies I contacted either never responded or responded with an itinerary and never followed up. I am glad we went with GRS. I was initially worried about booking a tour from the US and the legitimacy of the business, if you share the same concerns just know this is a legitimate business.
We did a 5 day- 4 night tour of Akagera National Park, and it was amazing. GRS provided transportation and a guide throughout that time. It was all-inclusive so we didn’t have to worry about anything from the moment we stepped into the safari jeep. Our guide, Taufique, was amazing to experience the park with. He was passionate about the park and its resident animals. We saw just about everything from dwarf mongoose to lions. The highlight for me was spending two hours observing a herd of 60 elephants!! We didn’t feel rushed at any point in time.
All in all it was an extremely successful trip. Upon our return to Kigali, Taufique, did a quick tour of the city to kill time until we could check in for our flight home. We were very appreciative to not sit in the Kigali airport for 6 hours.
If you are considering GRS as your tour operator, I highly recommend them. You may also want to see if you can get Taufique as your guide. I have to also give a shoutout to Marc and Joshua who were our guides around Kigali for a day.
A week prior to our safari tour, we made arrangements with GRS to take us around Kigali. Marc and Joshua took us around and was very accommodating as well. Joshua and Marc were very protective of us as we went into the local market and were swarmed by shop owners. Marc and Joshua were great.
