My wife and I went on a five-day, four-night private tour of Kenya and Tanzania.
To sum up, it was without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life.
We were able to visit all three of Africa's most iconic safari destinations: Kenya's Masai Mara, Tanzania's Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. Plus, we enjoyed the freedom and indulgence that only a private tour can offer.
On the safari, we were able to see all of the Big 5, and we were able to see scenes I'd only seen in picture books and videos, such as the tense poses of cheetahs before a hunt, hippos living in groups, and crocodiles lurking in the water.
Meeting the Masai people in person and hearing about their culture and lifestyle was also very memorable. It felt more like an experience of experiencing human life than sightseeing.
The travel distances were by no means short, but the driver was always careful and safe every day, including from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro Airport, so I never felt any physical or mental discomfort.
Additionally, at the lodge where we stayed, we were able to spend the night and morning in an environment where the animals were right next to us, making every night and morning an extraordinary experience.

A Dream Journey Across Kenya and Tanzania
This 5-day trip to Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. The team of Bavuma Wild Quest arranged the entire journey in such a way that every moment was a new story.
On the very first day at Masai Mara, we saw a group of lions hunting - right in front of our eyes! The guide Saimon was so experienced that he could understand from a distance where any animal was hidden.
On the third day, while watching the sunrise in the endless wilderness of Serengeti, it seemed as if the world was being born again here. Elephants, leopards, zebras - all seem to be part of a huge drama of nature.
On the last day, after descending to Ngorongoro Crater, I saw a huge rhino. Guide Rama said, if you have good luck, you can meet - and you really got it!
Accommodation, food and service were all excellent. I must say, Bavuma Wild Quest made this safari a dream come true.
