Dream Safari
Our trip 2-week trip with Wagtail Safaris was nothing short of extraordinary — truly the realization of a dream I had carried for over 20 years: seeing the mountain gorillas in the wild. From the very beginning, the company put together a comprehensive itinerary that exceeded our expectations in every way — incredible places to visit, diverse activities, beautiful and very enjoyable hotels, and, most importantly, unforgettable wildlife encounters across Uganda.
The logistics were absolutely flawless. Every transfer, park entry, and activity ran smoothly and without a hitch, allowing us to fully relax and immerse ourselves in the experience.
Our guide, Martin Asiimwe, was exceptional. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, with a warm, fun personality and seemingly endless patience. He could answer every question we had — from detailed animal behavior to social and political topics about the country — which added tremendous depth to the journey. His driving skills were superb, even on sometimes challenging roads, and his safari jeep was incredibly comfortable. What amazed us most was how spotless it was every morning after we had left it covered in dirt from the previous day’s adventures.
Martin was genuinely committed to making sure each traveler had the best possible experience. Early in the trip, he asked each person for the three animals we most wanted to see — and he kept that in mind throughout the safari, doing everything possible to ensure we each had those special sightings. That level of personal attention made the experience feel truly customized.
All in all, this was the most amazing safari one could dream of — perfectly organized, deeply enriching, and offered at a very reasonable price. I cannot recommend this company and Martin highly enough.

Professional Tour Company From Start to End.
I did a 4-day tour of SW Uganda with Wagatil, covering Lake Bunyonyi and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Gorilla Trekking) - it was outstanding from start to finish.
From the very first message, organising everything was seamless. The itinerary was flexible, special requests were happily accommodated, and Pretty went above and beyond — I lost count of all the emails I sent, asking for a tweak here and a tweak there. Nothing was too much trouble and emails were answered super quickly.
The accommodation and food were excellent throughout, and the whole experience felt more like chatting with a knowledgeable friend rather than a tour operator.
My driver and guide on the ground, Roland, was equally professional throughout.
Uganda is an incredibly beautiful and diverse country, and Pretty, and Roland, made the experience absolutely fabulous.
I couldn’t recommend Pretty and Wagatil more highly.

We had an incredible experience booking our safari with Martin. From the start, he was exceptionally patient and helpful, tailoring the itinerary to our specific needs and providing all necessary official documentation to ensure complete peace of mind regarding the company's legitimacy. The communication was prompt, and the payment process felt very secure and trusting.
Our guide, Vicent, was fantastic. Despite being younger, his knowledge of the local culture and language is vast. He was always happy to go above and beyond, like taking us to eat at local village spots outside the standard itinerary.
We booked a mid-to-high-end tour and felt we received excellent value. The lodges were very good to amazing, offering fantastic service. For the fair price we paid compared to other offers, the quality was outstanding. We would definitely book with them again for any future trips to Rwanda and Uganda.

Quality of service and attention
I had an excellent experience with Wagatil Safari and I can only say great things! From the very beginning, the service was impeccable. The car was extremely comfortable, which made a big difference during the drives, and the hotel selection was great, well above expectations.
I would especially like to highlight our guide, Rowland, who was absolutely amazing. The real standout of Wagatil Safari is, without a doubt, the very close, attentive, and caring service, which makes you feel safe and well looked after at all times. You can truly see that they care about the client’s experience, not just about following an itinerary.
I highly recommend them and would definitely travel with them again!

Such a stand out experience!
If you are traveling solo you are in great hands with Wagatil Safaris! From the pick up at the hotel, to the guide and the overall experience it was above and beyond. I felt safe, well taken care of and honestly probably had one of the best guides - I would specifically request Joseph if you go on this tour! He’s the absolute best and so knowledgeable about the park and Rwanda history which is an added plus!

Wonderful Safari company!
From start to finish everything with our Safari was smoothly organized. We got a quote within an hour and our safari plan. The Mantis hotel was amazing, highly recommended to anyone.
The the guides Albert & Jackson was wonderful to have as our guides. They were super friendly and showed us everything we could see in the park. The also picked us up exactly where we wanted.
Pretty who did all the admin for us was also amazing and super friendly , professional & effective!

Excellent well-balanced safari experience
Special thanks to Roland, my guide and driver, who created a truly memorable experience for me. The sheer number of animals we encountered was absolutely astonishing! Thanks also to Martin and Pretty for their excellent support. Roland ensured everything went smoothly and according to plan. We explored a great balance of both the southern (boat trip as well as night game drive) and northern sections of the park. The organization was excellent, and the service was professional throughout. I highly recommend Wagatil Safaris for an exceptional safari experience.
