Overall good service
Masai Mara Safari & Enchoro Wildlife Camp Review
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
Location: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
Tour Operator: Easy Budget Safaris
Camp: Enchoro Wildlife Camp
Outstanding Tour Operator & Field Guide
My safari experience in the Masai Mara was incredible, and a huge part of that success goes to our tour operator, Easy Budget Safaris, and our amazing driver-guide, Charles.
* Easy Budget Safaris: They were excellent and highly responsive, providing truly friendly and caring customer service. When I raised the issues we faced at the camp with them, they were immediately apologetic and took full accountability, assuring me they would look into the matter to ensure everything was resolved.
* Charles (Driver-Guide): He is deeply knowledgeable, highly professional, and genuinely cares about his tourists, constantly encouraging and supporting us throughout the journey.
* Wildlife Highlights: We were fortunate enough to witness the spectacular wildebeest migration, spot four of the Big Five (all except the rhinos), and see the fascinating "Ugly Five." Every moment on the safari drives was unforgettable.
At the camp itself, Simon (one of the staff members) stood out for being exceptionally helpful and cordial. The tents were clean, comfortable, and had a reliable electricity supply.
Areas for Improvement: Camp Management & Facilities
Unfortunately, the Enchoro Wildlife Camp management falls well short of the excellence provided by the field staff and Easy Budget Safaris—representing a noticeable decline from my previous experience here back in 2016.
We encountered functional issues in both our toilet and shower facilities. While management did relocate us to a new tent after we complained, it raises serious concern about what would have happened had the camp been fully booked with no vacant tents available.
Furthermore, the WiFi connectivity was abysmal. On our first day, there was no connection at all, with staff promising it would be fixed by the next day. On day two, we finally received a signal, but it was far too weak to send even basic text messages. By day three, despite sitting alone in the dining lounge trying to get a stable connection, it failed entirely—even getting stuck while trying to load pictures to send back to family.
Final Verdict
I would highly recommend Easy Budget Safaris and guide Charles to anyone planning a trip to the Mara. However, I would not recommend Enchoro Wildlife Camp solely due to its weak management and poor infrastructure/WiFi.

A worthwhile experience
Our Masai Mara safari was an unforgettable experience, thanks largely to our driver and guide, Charles. He is an exceptionally skilled driver with a keen eye for wildlife and went above and beyond to locate animals for us. We were fortunate enough to see 4 of the Big Five, along with many other magnificent animals. Charles is currently a Silver Star guide, but based on our experience, he truly deserves a Gold Star rating.
The game drives and overall travel experience were excellent. Charles's dedication, knowledge, and persistence made the safari the highlight of our trip.
Unfortunately, the camp accommodation fell short of expectations. The toilet flush in our room didn't work initially, and the Wi-Fi was unavailable throughout our two-day stay. To the camp's credit, they promptly moved us to another room when we requested it. At dinner on the first night, the beef dish had already run out by the time we arrived, and we were offered an omelette instead.
Overall, I highly recommend this safari for the outstanding game drive experience and the professionalism of Charles. However, the accommodation and food quality need improvement to match the quality of the safari itself.
Excellent service and guidance in safari. Good hospitality. Friendly natyre
"Our safari in masai mara was incredible, largely thanks to our guide, charles. Their ability to track big five animal was amazing, and their deep knowledge of the ecosystem made every game drive fascinating. They always positioned the vehicle perfectly for photos and made us feel completely safe. Highly recommend him for anyone visiting masai mara !"

Amazing 😻
We met Charles who is very professional and experienced driver who took all efforts to show big five. Stay, travel and Safari was good. We had 3 days safari from pick up and drop to Nairobi. Out stay was comfortable in Miti Mingi Eco Camp. It’s very and decent stay just near to camp gate.

Best Travel company
Thank you for such a wonderful trip and for all the unforgettable memories. Everything was very well organized. The food was good, the accommodations were comfortable and as a solo traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire journey.
A special thanks to Mr. Derrick, who was my point of contact during the booking process. He patiently answered all my questions, was always available to respond to my queries and helped me plan an amazing trip.
Dennis was an excellent driver and guide knowledgeable, patient and always made sure we had the best experience. Sylvester was also incredibly kind and welcoming. He took the time to show us around the city.
I would happily recommend your company to anyone planning a trip to Kenya. Thank you once again for an incredible experience. Until next time, Africa!

The tour was arranged professionally and clear instruction was given, easy to seek help too.
The whole tour is very event-packed and fruitful. Our guide, James Mwaura, deserves every credit, he provided many information and intersting facts about safari animals during our game drive and it made the whole trip even better. He also took care of us very well and it was an unforgettable experience for sure.

Great
This tour was amazing. Highly recommend the 8 day trip to Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli and Mombasa. I had a blast and loved my tour guide, Kennedy. He was so nice, funny, knowledgeable, and overall just great to be around. I feel very lucky to have had him. The value was great. The only bad thing I would say about this tour is the boxed lunches. They give you absolutely terrible sandwiches, mediocre snacks and extremely dry chicken. Some days they don’t even give you protein. I highly recommend bringing your own mustard and/or mayo because the sandwiches are so dry for lunch. The breakfast and dinners were good though. For the price we pay, we should be getting WAY better lunches. But I still highly recommend this tour regardless because every tour in Kenya seems to give everyone terrible lunches no matter which company you book with. They are quick to respond via WhatsApp.

ETA safari: A Decent Kenya Experience Worth Booking, but Shop Around Independently for Tanzania
ETA Adventure Safari – 10-Day Kenya & Tanzania Safari with budget accommodations
(Masai Mara · Amboseli · Serengeti · Ngorongoro | June 2026)

Why We Chose ETA
Sales contact Derrick responded quickly, was patient with customization, and flexible with pricing. This is what made us choose ETA over Super Eagles' rep, Chanson Kimani.
Note: ETA Adventure Safari and Super Eagles Safari are the same company, so the overall travel quality is trustworthy.

🇰🇪 Kenya — Highly Recommended
Masai Mara is smaller than Serengeti, which means animals are more concentrated and you can get surprisingly close to them. We strongly recommend booking at least 3 full days here.
▸ Our guide Symoh was a standout — experienced, well-connected with local rangers and other safari operators, and knew where to find animals. His network meant we could quickly reach spots where wildlife had just been spotted.
→ One downside: his Land Cruiser was in noticeably worse shape than other operators' vehicles — less comfortable seats, slower speed, and a bumpier ride. We hope the company invests in upgrading his car.
▸ Amboseli — handled by a partner agency, also great. Request Osutua Rafiki Camp specifically, it's better than Nyati Safari Camp.
▸ Food throughout Kenya was good. Budget accommodations offer better value than Tanzania's equivalent
▸ One hiccup: Derrick initially booked us into Manyatta Camp by mistake instead of Flair Camp. After we flagged it, he corrected it quickly. Just a heads up — Flair Camp is the better budget option, with nicer dining and rooms.

🇹🇿 Tanzania — Worth Managing Expectations
▸ Derrick told us ETA operates Tanzania directly, but it's actually handled by a third party: Seven Wonders Safaris. This matters for pricing — upgrading from basic camping to Shuhudia Camp & Hhand Lodge cost us an extra $100 USD per person per night through ETA. When we checked directly, Hhand Lodge was around $180 USD per room — could expect cheaper price via agency.
▸ Our honest suggestion: get independent quotes for Tanzania before committing through ETA.
▸ Our guide Tony was warm and very knowledgeable — genuinely enjoyable to be around. However, his vehicle's walkie-talkie seemed broken, which meant he couldn't pick up real-time wildlife updates in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. This gap made a noticeable difference compared to our Kenya experience, where Symoh's connections helped us find animals much more efficiently.
⚠️ Stomach warning: Me & my friend — on separate days — had stomach issues after drinking hot tea/coffee on different day made by the in-vehicle chef. If you have a sensitive stomach, stick to food and drinks provided by the lodge or camp.

📋 A Few Things ETA Should Improve
▸Communication needs work. Throughout the trip, we were constantly handed off between different drivers and guides (it’s fine) — but ETA rarely told us in advance who was coming next. This caused unnecessary confusion.
Before arriving, we asked Derrick for our Nairobi pickup time and he said "the driver will let you know." We ended up eating breakfast in a rush, only to arrive at the meeting point and wait a long time for other travelers from different operators. A simple message before would have helped us a lot not to book the room with breakfast.
▸Transfer driver in chief Jacob was friendly and drove well — but was sometimes inflexible about timing. As mentioned, day one hotel pick-up was like that. And the last day he said schedules couldn't be adjusted, yet ended up changing it himself. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit frustrating.
