Excellent Experience - Well-Thought Itinerary, Great Service/Coordination team
5/5

My first safari experience was a resounding success thanks to the Eta team and my wonderful game driver, Brian! When I began to explore safari options (looking for roughly a week long trip), I was impressed by Eta's itinerary and cost point. The itinerary was comprehensive, including fees for the game reserves, lodging, and all meals - there was very little as well as optional activities (which I highly recommend participating in!). From the get-go, Derrick, my main point of contact at Eta, was patient and thorough in answering my (many) questions. He went above and beyond throughout the remainder of the process, checking in with me throughout the safari to make sure I had a good experience.

The actual safari experience was lovely. We saw amazing wildlife and explored many different terrains within Kenya. I embarked on the 7-day itinerary which included visits to Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Hell's Gate, and Amboseli game parks. I wasn't sure what to expect from a safari, but a lot of time was spent in the car, sometimes spent off-roading or traversing bumpy roads - if you have back problems or other mobility constraints, come prepared! I also want to remind people that you are tracking wild animals. There is nothing your driver can do to control if the lions will be awake when you see them or if they'll even be visible in the first place; I only bring this up as there were several entitled people who would whine if the Cheetah we saw wouldn't magically wake up and smile for them - please don't be that person!

That aside, my driver Brian, did an excellent job at tracking down rare animals and making sure that we got up close and personal to the big five and more. Brian is also extremely funny, knowledgeable, and can answer almost any question you have along the way. We had a few technical issues (broken down car, flat tire in a game park) and Brian remained cool and collected until they were resolved. I was also impressed by the fact that we were able to find a replacement vehicle within an hour of our car breaking down, allowing us to proceed with our safari with little interruption.

I highly recommend participating in optional activities - the Masai Mara visit and Lake Naivasha boat ride were some of my favorite experiences of the safari! Overall, the overall costs of the safari are well worth the money. I personally upgraded to the "mid-range" accommodations, which actually ended up being some pretty nice hotels along the way. If you can afford it, I think the few hundred dollar upgrade in comparison to the budget option is worth the splurge.

Couple of other notes - there were a few minor issues throughout my safari, however, the Eta team responded to them quickly. I had a situation where one of the hotels I was staying got overbooked for one of the two nights I was supposed to stay there. While unideal to need to switch hotels, Eta was able to replace that with a comparable accommodation and everything worked out fine. Another piece I'll note is at times there seemed to be a disconnect between what was being communicated between the safari company and our driver (e.g. which passengers were staying at which lodgings, etc.) - this didn't impact the overall experience but sometimes lead to some confusion or additional communication needed between safari company and driver.

Everything said and done - Eta provided a fantastic safari experience and I could not recommend Brian more! I loved going on safari in Kenya and could not recommend this tour more!

Francis made the trip a once in a life time experience with his expert knowledge and skills.
5/5

Highly recommend the experience. If possible request Francis as your guide. He knew all the spots to see the animals from the best angles and worked hard to ensure an informed and positive experience. The communication and logistics were handled well and things went smoothly.

Amazing Kenya Safari
5/5

I would like to give my guide, Francis, the strongest recommendation. He is an exceptionally professional guide who can help you plan almost everything—from organizing your trip to finding animals and positioning you for the best possible viewing angles. During our days in the Masai Mara, he helped us spot over 50 different animal species, including the famous "Big Five." He is also incredibly patient, taking the time to explain the names, characteristics, and habits of each animal. He is truly a knowledgeable naturalist and an excellent teacher—patient, professional, and arguably the best guide you could find in Kenya.

Later, Eric, who guided us to Hell’s Gate National Park, was also a very enthusiastic guide. He was thoughtful and well-organized, helping us interact with the animals and sharing a wealth of knowledge about wildlife. Choosing him turned out to be an excellent decision.

Very kind people willing to accommodate your needs.
5/5

We had an amazing 10 day experience through the safari. We were a little intimidated by being in a new country but the responsiveness of the tour group really helped us adjust. You won’t know about some of the pickup/drop off times until day of but that is normal in the country.

The overall arrangement was very reasonable, and we visited all the places we agreed to go on the trip.
5/5

The overall arrangements were very reasonable, and I was lucky enough to see many rare sights. The overall travel experience was also very good. Airport transfers were provided, and the price was very reasonable and cost-effective. The only downside is that I should allow extra time for the final airport shuttle. I would definitely choose this company again for my next trip to Kenya and Tanzania; they are very reliable overall.

Amazing 8D7N Kenya Safari Across Amboseli, Mara, Nakuru & Mombasa!
5/5

We had a fantastic 8-day-7-night Kenya safari across Amboseli, Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Mombasa👍. Our experienced guide shared abundant wildlife knowledge whenever we encountered animals. Amboseli’s elephants beneath Kilimanjaro recall Hemingway’s classic novel; Masai Mara boasts wild savanna predators; Lake Nakuru is covered with pink flamingos; and Mombasa’s coastal beach wraps up our whole trip nicely. This trip realized my Africa dream, and I can’t wait to return for the Great Migration someday🥰

Considerate and Knowledgeable
5/5

An excellent experience out in the bush with Benson. We got very lucky and ended up seeing two leopards in our 7 day safari. Having Naivasha and Nukuru sandwiched between the Mara and Amboseli made the trip pacing diverse enough that each new animal encounter felt exciting and fresh. Our driver Benson was very calm on the roads and did a great job taking our inevitable car breakdowns in stride and did everything he could to make up for any loss of time (these vehicles get absolutely pummeled on these roads).

Would take this tour again without question. Definitely spring for the mid-tier package, the quality of the uograded lodges is spectacular.

Excellent attention to our excitement and kind cooperation with our thrill to learn.
5/5

We chose the premium service which was only a couple hundred more than the basic price and we felt that was clearly the best move. It was as though we had paid for the best. Definitely worth the payment for comfort and also attention to design of our stays and ambience. After a long dusty day of riding, being welcomed to a delicious meal and a private space was much desired and our expectations were blown away. We were put in the heart of these magical locations to truly experience what the environment and it's people who protect and love it, had to share.

Benson was our leader and he did not disappoint once! He would stop and answer all questions, he made sure everyone could hear him, and would pull up the the animals at angles for each side of the vehicle to enjoy. It was very considerate. He was always asking others where we might find more animals and we could tell he has made friends along the way. Every driver looked happy to help one another. You really are in the presence of a team who love their career and are very thrilled to share with the travelers. Any car troubles, which are to be expected, we are in the wild (duh!), were immediately dealt with. We always felt safe and trusted the process and would continue on our journey. I mention this simply for those who lack patience, I hope you practice this beforehand or you may spoil a nice opportunity to sit and reflect on the land before you. Again, not a big deal, it felt adventurous through and through.

We also asked for a couple favors, stops for using restroom, or for photos and we could rely on our needs being met. We also arranged transport to hotel after it was over, we were a large group and we are grateful Benson took us.

We will return with more family and friends. We did the 7 day safari and let me tell you, we would joyfully do it again and again! Bring your binoculars and a bandana! You too can see the big five and ugly eight as we did.

Perfect organisation of our tour in Kenya
5/5

Madelyne was very reactive and flexible before and during our tour in Kenya.
In 8 days, everything was optimized to allow us to see Masaï Mara, lake Nakuru, lake Naivasha, Amboseli and Mombasa !
(More time to enjoy the sea side and discover Nairobi would be of course even better but we couldn’t stay longer). We could see lots of animals (even a leopard !), wonderfull landscapes and appreciatethe friendliness of kenyan people. We really enjoyed our tour!
We recommand Eta for the quality of the tour and its correct price.
