Our tour operator was informative, had keen eyes for the animals, was patient, warm, & worked hard.
Our tour was even better than expected, and we had high hopes! Our guide was kind, patient, informative and fun. We felt safe, heard and got to see so many birds and animals! He worked hard to take us where animals were from hippos to elephants and hunting cheetahs! He heard that I loved birds, so was intentional to make space for that as well. It was all a joy!

An unforgettable Safari experiences
This was our first real Safari in our lives, and we didn’t know what to expect. But everything exceeded our expectations. Communication with Dominik was excellent, he responded to our questions immediately. Shortly before our trip, we changed our travel plans, we wanted to spend the first part of our holiday in Watamu and the last part in Diani, so Dominik arranged for us to be picked up in Watamu instead of Diani and drop us at Diani. There were only two of us traveling, so we had the entire car to ourselves and could even take our suitcases with us.
We were very lucky to have Modi as our guide and driver. He is a very friendly young man who did his best to ensure we saw as many animal species as possible. He gave us a lot of information not only about nature and the lives of wild animals, but also about the lives of people in Kenya. We saw the entire "Big Five"with the exception of the rhinoceros, as well as many other species of wild animals. Modi is a very good driver, he knows his Land Cruiser perfectly, and we felt safe with him.
The organization of the trip was also perfect. We had beautiful accommodation right in Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks, and just a short distance from the entrance to Amboseli National Park.
We appreciate the professional approach of Kentau Safaris, and we liked that we were able to make the payment from home instead of having to carry large amounts of cash with us. The payment and cancellation terms are very clear.

From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and the planning with Dominic was smooth and effortless. Our guide was fantastic: knowledgeable, passionate, and always attentive, he made every game drive an incredible experience. We saw amazing wildlife and he knew exactly where and when to find it.

Kentau Safaris exceeds in creating the best safari experience through professionalism and passion.
Our group of 4 had chosen Kentau Safaris back in May of 2026. Ever since selecting them the experience was nothing short of wonderful. Prior to visiting in September, any questions that we had regarding travel requirements, packing list, and what to expect on the safari were answered promptly by Dominic. He helped us customize our itinerary to match what we wanted to see and ensured that our group was well prepared for our week long visit to Kenya.
Once we arrived in country, we were picked up early for the beginning of our week long adventure. Our guide Douglas was excellent. From the moment he picked us up, you could tell he was passionate about showing us not only about the animals, but also about his country and was more then happy to explain any questions that we had along the way. He was just as excited as we were when we saw all the different species of animals.
Our itinerary consisted of 7 days visiting three different Kenyan locations, Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, and the Maasai Mara. All three of these locations were very unique in their own way. The backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro with elephants in Amboseli is still one of my favourite backdrops anywhere in the world. With our one night in Lake Naivasha, we enjoyed a boat ride around Crescent Island and a really cool walking safari where you could walk with the wild animals (something we all agreed was a really good experience). The magic of the Mara was enjoyed by all, especially with the sun rise from the hot air balloon.
We couldn't have been happier with our selection of tour company. Whatever our expectation was, it was exceeded in every way and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, it always did. To Dominic, Douglas, and the whole Kentau Team....thank you for the incredible experience!
I would definitely recommend visiting with Kentau Safaris to anyone who is thinking of booking an adventure in the future. The work they put in to ensure an adventure of a lifetime is noticed. Next time I visit the area, I will be messaging Kentau first!

Excellent Safari to Tsavo East National Park
We went on a two-day safari to Tsavo East National Park with Kentau Safaris in October 2026. It was an outstanding experience from the very start. The hotel pickup in Mombasa went smoothly, and the 2.5-hour drive to the park offered a great opportunity for pleasant conversations with our guide. This positive experience continued during the subsequent game drives, which were made perfect by numerous excellent wildlife sightings. Accommodation at the Voi Wildlife Lodge was superb—offering high standards, a varied and delicious selection of food, and an excellent view of the nearby waterhole. We highly recommend booking a safari with Kentau Safaris; we have absolutely no complaints.

We had an absolutely amazing safari journey with our wonderful, professional tour guides, Fred and Chris! They were both friendly and humorous, incredibly professional at spotting animals, and shared insightful ecological stories about them.
We were very lucky to see not only the “Big Five” but also the “Ugly Five” in Africa along with many other animals we usually only see in the movie The Lion King! Seeing wildlife living freely in their natural habitat was truly touching and made us all feel so relaxed.
I highly recommend connecting with the travel agency manager, Dominic, is extremely efficient and helpful. Throughout nearly a year of planning and communication, he has been a tremendous help to me. He is my best friend in Africa.

Really good safari experience with a great guide!
We had a wonderful safari experience! Our guide Modi was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and shared lots of interesting information with us. Even though we only stayed for one night, we were able to see all the animals we hoped for. Modi always knew where to look and was very attentive to our wishes.
The lodge was simple but clean and had everything we needed. It is not a luxury lodge and there is no air conditioning, so it can get a little warm in the evening, but overall it was absolutely fine.
We would definitely recommend this tour operator – the experience was very well organized and definitely worth it!

Good and Not Good
THE GOOD: The trip was well organized, booking was smooth, and communication with the salesperson was excellent. The vehicle was in good condition, and the hotel/camp was comfortable. Overall, it felt like good value for the money.
NOT SO GOOD: Unfortunately, our guide fell short. While he met the bare minimum requirements, he was completely unengaging and unfriendly. This was not our first safari, so we weren't expecting a National Geographic-level expert, but he offered no proactive information or context, giving only brief, one-sentence answers. Even trying to figure out where we were driving next felt like a struggle. Language was not an issue, as his English was fine.
OVERALL: Because a guide makes or breaks a safari experience, I cannot recommend Kentau Safari based on this trip.

Responsiveness and professional
Our experience (a family of four) was truly extraordinary. From the planning, which took place months before departure, during which we explored various options and, thanks to Dominic's excellent advice, we were able to plan a tailor-made tour (Masai Mara, Nakuru Lake, Amboseli, Tsavo, departing from Nairobi and ending in Diani Beach).
The accommodations were excellent (perhaps I would prefer a lodge at the Masai Mara rather than the good tented camp, even if it meant spending a little more). I also found the total cost and overall quality of the services to be very good.
Besides, a special mention goes to our driver. James is so much more than just a driver. While always attentive and cautious, he expresses a natural hunting instinct in the savannah. He is determined and tenacious in his pursuit of animals, and was able to show us all of them on multiple occasions.
Opting for a private tour also allowed us to manage the timing and game drives as we pleased.
When Africa will call me again I will return with Kentau Safaris.
