Individual and professional organisation with a wonderful good organised program with nice lodges
The organisation was very good. Our contact was extremely friendly and determined to find a good itinerary for us. We were very happy about our accommodations and the tour plan. We saw all big 5 and had very good food. However we weren’t that happy about our guide who was a bit distant. Also his driving made us a bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless he was kind.

An unforgettable safari with an amazing guide!
We had an amazing experience with Jambo Masai Tours and thoroughly enjoyed our safari from start to finish. Everything was well organised and the whole trip was an experience we’ll never forget.
A special mention has to go to our driver and guide, Joshua, who was absolutely brilliant. He was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and the different areas we visited. He always made sure we were comfortable and put a lot of effort into helping us get the best possible sightings. We felt completely safe and looked after throughout the safari.
The safari itself was incredible and exceeded our expectations. We saw so much wildlife and made some amazing memories. We would definitely recommend Jambo Masai Tours, and especially Joshua, to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Honeymoon Safari
We had a really good experience with Jambo Masai Tours overall. Communication was good throughout, and our guide, Shaban, was great. He listened to what we wanted to see and made a real effort to tailor the safari around that.
The accommodation was generally very good, with the exception of one place that wasn’t quite to the same standard as the others. Overall, we felt the safari itself was good value for money and we really enjoyed the experience.
The only thing I probably wouldn’t recommend is the hot air balloon experience, as we didn’t feel it was worth the additional cost. Aside from that, we were very happy with the safari and would recommend Jambo Masai Tours.

Everything went perfectly; our guide Enock explained so much about the animals and helped us get to know the parks we visited much better. Our 1st safari, unforgettable Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater
I came across Jambo Masai Tour after a long search for safari agencies in Tanzania, and I was immediately impressed by the kindness and promptness of the staff, Raphael in particular. We decided to go on safari in Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, spending two days travelling from Zanzibar, with all transfers included in the price.
It was a truly unforgettable experience and one I would highly recommend. Kevin, our driver, was kind and attentive throughout the trip, as well as extremely knowledgeable about the parks we visited and the animals we were lucky enough to see.
Unfortunately, at Ngorongoro we had an issue with our entry permit for the reserve. Kevin immediately took action to try to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and did everything he could to help us.
We didn’t manage to complete the Big Five, as we were missing the leopard—but we’ll use that as an excuse to come back soon!
Thank you so much for this amazing experience. It was truly exciting and unforgettable!

Service Failures and Itinerary Deviations by Kenya Partner Agency (Shades of Africa)
I booked a tour with Jambo Masai Tours, who outsourced the Kenya portion of my trip to Shades of Africa. My complaint is regarding the services delivered by their outsourced partner.
While we have no issue with Jambo Masai Tours directly, we experienced multiple itinerary deviations and service issues from their outsourced Kenya counterpart, specifically driver-guide, David, from Shades of Africa.
Below are the factual details and itinerary deviations encountered during the four days of our trip in Kenya:
Day 1 (Late Arrival & Tipping Request): The driver arrived at 7:00 AM for a scheduled 5:40 AM pick-up at the airport. Upon departure, he requested a tip rate of USD 20 per person per day. This contradicts the rate of USD 10 specified in Jambo Masai's official brochure guidelines.
Day 2 (Missed Itinerary Item & Unscheduled Stop): Delayed arrival times resulted in the complete omission of our scheduled evening game drive in the Maasai Mara. The driver altered the route to include a Maasai village tour not listed in our official itinerary, requiring an unscheduled USD 60 out-of-pocket admission fee.
Day 3 (Altered Game Drive Duration): The driver concluded the game drive at 3:30 PM at the accommodation without prior consultation. While he had communicated the 7:30 AM start time the previous day, the conclusion time was not discussed, and we were notified that the tour had ended upon arrival at the lodging at 3:30 PM.
Day 4 (Tanzania Border Tipping Dispute): At the Tanzania border drop-off at 11:00 AM, the driver contested our tip of USD 100 for the 4-day period (equivalent to USD 12.50 per person per day). He explicitly demanded USD 20 per person per day inside the vehicle until we reiterated Jambo Masai's USD 10 guideline, at which point the provided amount was accepted.

We particularly appreciate you making the distinction between your experience with Jambo Masai Tours and the services provided by our outsourced Kenya partner, Shades of Africa. The specific concerns you have raised regarding the airport pickup, itinerary changes, additional costs, game-drive timing, and tipping expectations are important, and we take them seriously.
Our guests should receive clear communication about their itinerary, any optional activities or additional costs, and tipping guidelines. An itinerary should also not be changed without proper discussion and agreement with the travelers. We understand how frustrating it must have been to miss a scheduled game drive and then encounter unexpected charges and disagreements during the trip.
We are also sorry that the tipping discussion became uncomfortable, particularly at the end of your Kenya experience. We appreciate you following the tipping guidance provided by Jambo Masai Tours and documenting what occurred.
Your feedback has been shared internally so that we can review how our partner arrangements are communicated and monitored. While the Kenya services were operated by our local partner, we recognize that when a traveler books through Jambo Masai Tours, the overall experience matters to us as well.
