It was beyond perfection!

Everything was so good we just had to worry about having a good time in our honeymoon safari.

I contacted Chrizanne after my tour operator in the UK went into liquidation 3 weeks before we were suppose to travel. Asking if you could help me to rebook the Camps, Hotels and As Dunas.
This Lady went above and beyond what you would consider helping nothing was to much trouble, even managing to book two camps in better locations for us.
I will be going back to Africa in either 27 or 28 and I will have no hesitation in contacting Chrizanne to organise my whole trip.

The whole experience is unbelievable Botswana has to be visited as a destination. Moremi Crossing and Mma Dinare Camps were in different setting and offered a excellent trips out both by vehicle and boat.
Both Camps had excellent facilities, food excellent and the staff were welcoming and nothing was to much trouble.
Leaving the safaris behind we had 5 night at As Dunas Lodge in Mozamique. The Onwers and Management made everything run smoothly, staff again could not help you enough.
The setting of the lodge overlooking the bay is stunning, every morning your voew from you accommodation is breath taking.
The cuisine here it out of this world every day a different 5 course tasting menu.

Dream honeymoon
Adele planned the most perfect honeymoon for us. It was the perfect combination of once in a lifetime experience in the bush and relaxing and romantic at the beach!

Serious concerns about the company's integrity and professional conduct
I booked a Botswana safari through Discover Africa. Unfortunately, my experience with Discover Africa was very disappointing.
Before the safari, I clearly communicated my dietary restrictions, and Discover Africa confirmed that these had been conveyed to the operator. However, during the safari, the tour operator was unaware of my restrictions. As a result, I had difficulty finding suitable food and drinks during much of the safari.
There were also problems with airport reception in Maun and with the information I received about check-in luggage. I had been told by Discover Africa that someone from the operator would receive me at the airport upon arrival and assist me, but no one was there. I had to figure out the charter flight time and arrangements myself. In the end, I had to ask other operators at the airport for assistance. I was also given incorrect information about luggage, which resulted in me repacking unnecessarily before the flight.
Another important issue is the value for money. I paid the same price as the operator's public price on its website, so I expected the travel agent to add value through proper communication, coordination and support. Instead, I felt that my needs were not properly followed up or communicated to the operator.
After I raised these problems, my agent at Discover Africa did respond and reviewed the issues with the operator. However, I felt that the responses mainly explained how the problems had occurred rather than addressing my concerns. Some of the replies also felt very generic and impersonal.
Overall, my concern is that I did not feel there was sufficient added value or coordination from Discover Africa. I felt that the additional communication involved in booking through the agent contributed to problems that I had specifically tried to avoid by communicating my requirements in advance, while I paid the same public price as booking directly with the operator.
Most concerningly, after I posted a factual review of my experience on Safaribookings, this company reported to Safaribookings that I never booked with them to delete my review. I find this dishonest behaviour extremely concerning. I now have serious concerns about the company's integrity.
Based on my experience, I would not use Discover Africa again. The safari experience itself was amazing, as was Botswana and the Okavango Delta, but not Discover Africa.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely pleased that you enjoyed the safari itself, but we’re sorry that the coordination around parts of your journey did not leave you feeling the same way.
Your dietary requirements were communicated by our team to Letaka before you travelled, and we had confirmation that this information had been passed on. However, we recognise that this did not translate into the experience you expected once you were on safari.
From your perspective, you provided those requirements to Discover Africa and reasonably expected them to be reflected in what was available to you throughout the trip. Regardless of where that breakdown occurred operationally, we understand why this was frustrating and why it affected your confidence in the coordination behind your journey.
We also understand your frustration on arrival in Maun. Letaka’s usual arrangement is for Mack Air to assist their guests with the onward charter process, but you were expecting a more visible meet-and-assist service. That distinction should have been made clearer to you before arrival.
On the luggage requirements, we do want to clarify that the information provided to you before travel reflected Mack Air’s official conditions. We advised that soft-sided luggage should be used for the charter and that acceptance of a hard-shell case could not be guaranteed because of the aircraft’s limited storage space. The fact that your case was ultimately accepted on the day was at the airline’s discretion, so we do stand by the guidance that was provided.
You also raised a number of other concerns about the day-to-day operation of the mobile safari. We took these back to Letaka individually, asked them to account for what had happened, and responded to you based on the information they provided. While many of those elements sit within Letaka’s direct operation of the safari, we recognise that you booked the journey through us and therefore expected us to help make the experience feel connected from beginning to end.
That speaks to the bigger point behind your review. When you book through Discover Africa, our value should come through in the planning, advice, coordination, and support surrounding the safari, not simply in making the reservation itself. A considerable amount of support and communication took place before your trip, and your concerns were investigated afterwards. But we accept that those efforts were not as visible or reassuring when some arrangements on the ground did not unfold as expected.
We’re sorry that this left you questioning the value of booking through us. At the same time, we’re glad that Botswana itself and the safari experience left such a positive impression, and we appreciate you taking the time to give us detailed feedback on the areas where the experience could have been better.

Chrizaan was very helpful, very thorough and selected some terrific places for us
We wanted to spend a week in Kruger and Chrizaan put together a visit to two areas (Sabi Sands and Timbavati). She chose two lodges that met our budget requirements and both were very good (Nkorho Bush Lodge and Motswari Main Camp). All the transits between the airport and the lodges worked well.
All the communication with Chrizaan was very clear and timely. She happily adapted the plans for any changes we requested.
We would happily use Chrizaan again.

Our operator crafted a unique safari experience that met exactly what we were looking for and more!
We were referred to Discover Africa to book our honeymoon safari by friends who had used them previously and spoke very highly of them and we could not have been happier. We worked with Susan and Adelle and they listened to what we were thinking in regards to amount and types of adventures vs. leisure, settings, and budget and helped craft a great itinerary that made our honeymoon so special. They listened to what we wanted and gave advice when needed to help build this trip together.
We spent 4 days in Zanzibar at a hotel of their recommendation and it was the perfect way to start the trip coming right from the wedding. We then spent 8 nights on Safari and it was everything we could ever dreamed of. We had a private guide, Charmy, for 2 days in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro Crater and he was one of the highlights of our trip. He was so welcoming, knowledgeable about the animals/environment, and was so easy to connect with that he instantly made us comfortable and excited about the trip. He listened to us and what we were hoping to see and also recommended and made it a personal experience that was so memorable. We couldn't recommend Charmy more to anyone coming on a Safari. He was a perfect guide.
The second 4 days we were in the Northern Serengeti with a different guide, Habib, and had an equally amazing and different experience than the other 3 locations. We learned so much from Habib and Victor about the Great Migration, the habitats and habits of the animals that live on the savannah and really came away with incredible memories and knowledge. It was a phenomenal 4 days here.
The travel, transfers, and communication was seamless and allowed us to travel with ease around the 5 different locations on our 12 night trip. The Discover Africa team was there to help make it as easy for us to enjoy this trip as possible and they succeeded. Thank you!

African Safari Adventure
A Truly Seamless African Adventure
Adelle from Discover Africa was exceptional from beginning to end. She was knowledgeable, responsive and always prompt. She created an excellent itinerary with a perfect schedule, wonderful lodges and seamlessly coordinated transfers. Every detail was handled beautifully, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
The entire trip was also an excellent value. I genuinely cannot think of one negative thing to say. Adelle exceeded our expectations, and I would recommend her and Discover Africa without hesitation!

Incredible Vacation Plan With Only 3 Week Notice!
We had an incredible trip to South Africa. Adelle did an incredible job of setting us up when we only gave her a few weeks notice. We had a different trip booked that got canceled due to river conditions in Europe so we tried a pivot to South Africa and it was a great decision. But it couldn’t have happened without Adelle. It was a short trip, only six nights and she moved us around to three different spots that were all great and distinct. All of the employees at all of the places we stayed and all of the drivers we had taking us to and from were very friendly which made the trip even more enjoyable. We could not be more happy with our choice of Discover Africa (Adelle)!

Cayleigh put together a perfect tour for us over 18 days in Kruger, Chobe and okavanga delta
We are based in Sydney and had our initial conversation with Cayleigh Brown by video. She came back to us with a proposed itinerary and was very accommodating of one of our guests who uses a wheelchair.
The iitinerary was fantastic and built so that each experience was even better than the last (something we didnt think was possible at the beginning). all our transfers and flights went without a hitch - it was superb.

Meticulous planning and superbly organised
First safari for us - 3 days in Arusha, 2 Tarangire, 2 Ngorongo, 4 Serengeti and 6 in Zanzibar.
We found the choice of potential locations, accommodation, routes etc almost bewildering at first. Matthys at DA carefully sought to understand we were looking for and came up (after a couple of face to face discussions and several emails) with a suitable schedule
Pre and mid trip communication was excellent. The DA portal is very detailed and comprehensive and the app was very useful on a day to day basis once we arrived in Tanzania.
The recommended accommodation and transport was mostly superb, only issue was transferring from Kogatendi to Zanzibar where a supposed direct flight was in fact 2 flights with a 2 hour delay on the second, meaning we arrived in Zanzibar around 4 hours later than planned. We understand this happens quite regularly in the bush so not a big deal.
My wife was unfortunately taken ill during the trip (not attaching any blame to any lodge or hotel, these things can happen any time). An initial doctor visit was very well handled by our first guide (en route from Tarangire to Ngongoro), and after a slight recovery she again went downhill when we in the Serengeti. Between Matthys from DA and our driver in Zanzibar a hospital visit was pre-arranged when we arrived and the recommended hospital was excellent. The camps in Ngongoro, Serengeti and the hotel in Zanzibar really couldn’t have done any more to make sure she was as comfortable as possible.
The accommodation was fabulous in all locations and the two guides/drivers absolutely exceptional. All arrangements went as planned and everyone we encountered were so friendly and helpful. Despite the illness disruption we saw many amazing things, too many to list here,
Would very happily recommend DA and use them again.
