Everything went perfect, encounter with chimps and gorillas WOW
5/5

Uzuri Safaris are an excellent tour company to deal with. Right from the get go, our communications with Fiona were easy and quick. It did not matter what time, Fiona was able to reply to our many questions, requests for changes in the program in no time. She had no problems modifying our tour to suit our needs better. Once we arrived in Uganda, our guide Ronnie was excellent. Right from the pick-up at the airport all through the trip to the end, Ronnie was able to meet all of our expectations and indeed exceeded them. He would stop anytime we asked to take pictures and also when he saw things that he thought we would be interested in. Things that were interesting to us and that we would have missed without him. Our first stop on this epic trip was Kibale Forest National Park – the home of the chimpanzees.
The sounds the chimpanzees make even before seeing them is super exciting and it still rings in my ears every time I remember the trip on look at our pictures from the trip. Having trekked for about an hour on largely flat terrain to find the chimpanzees, we came across this large troop with some of the members up in the trees while a few others were on the ground. One female with a baby came very close to where we were standing and it was just wow! It literally gave us a good opportunity to take as many pictures! The chimps up in the trees did not mind us as they
went about their day – enjoying some kind of fruit. The swamp/community walk in the afternoon is also a must if you are not too tired.

Most organized professional safari company I’ve ever booked through.
5/5

Edris went above and beyond from start to finish with this trip. It exceeded all expectations and I had the time of my life in Uganda. He responded very quickly and was very accommodating when I requested to change the itinerary. Our guide, Ronnie, was excellent as well. He kept us safe and entertained! The experience on safari was like nothing I’ve ever witnessed and I’ve been on a few safaris!

Incredible experience
5/5

My friend and I booked through Uzuri and had nothing but wonderful experiences! Edris, the owner, was incredibly helpful throughout the entire scheduling journey as we added and changed our itinerary. When we arrived, our guide Ronnie picked us up at the airport and was with us the whole time, checking in daily to make sure we had the best experience possible. He even helped capture 15 poachers! And when coronavirus caused my flight to be canceled, Edris and Ronnie rescheduled our flights for us without compromising anything we had planned! This was my first safari, and I cannot recommend Uzuri strongly enough!

Unforgettable Uganda Trip
5/5

We had a wonderful 12-day safari with Uzuri. Our driver Ronnie was very knowledgeable and friendly. He is an excellent driver and always kept the car clean. We visited Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo and of course the unforgettable gorilla trekking in Mgahinga. The itinerary planned by Uzuri ensured we had a nice balance of busy and relaxing days. The accommodation choices were great with Chameleon Hill Lodge being our favourite. We would definitely recommend Uzuri for those planning a safari in Uganda.

Seven day tour with Uzuri was outstanding!
5/5

My son works in Kampala, and he chose Uzuri for our customized tour. In seven days we hit Murchison, then Bwindi, then Queen Elizabeth. We chose 'mid-level' lodges and all met expectations. And some had almost gourmet level dining! In Murchison, even an amateur photographer can look like a hero because the wildlife was so abundant. Really though, the key to our great trip was our super guide from Uzuri, Vincent M. Knowledgeable, super friendly, spirited, and extremely competent, he made all the difference. Some of the roads were difficult, but Vincent knew them all and drove us safely and efficiently through the mud and the detours. He was often in contact with other guides to give us the best experience available at the time. He didn't miss any detail of our trip. I highly recommend Vincent M and Uzuri Uganda Safaris. Entire experience was one for a lifetime!

Bespoke safari
5/5

We had a great safari trip with Uzuri, the service was excellent from the first contact until the end of our trip. Edris was very helpful to meet our request for a custom safari and made sure the trip plan was to our satisfaction. The activities and places booked were all of good standard and our guide was making us feel at home in Uganda. We could not have asked for anything better and can warmly recommend Uzuri to anyone planning to go on a round trip in Uganda or East Africa.

What an experience, double gorilla treks
5/5

First of all, before you see the Gorillas, which is why everyone goes there, Bwindi is just magical! It is a beautiful park as the scenery, the green all-around you, the misty mornings (mist can be seen hanging over the rain forest) take your breath away. The encounter with the gorillas is awe-inspiring. No words can paint a proper picture for you who has not been to Bwindi to see the Gorillas. You have to do it yourself to make your own conclusions. Last month, I and my sister went on a 6-day double Gorilla trek with Uzuri Uganda Safaris who I cannot fault as Edris did a good jog arranging everything. Our driver was Joachim and he looked after us as if we were his own family, he made us feel comfortable going above and beyond making our trip the best. He had a wealth of knowledge and was happy to share it with us delivering the information well. He had books in the car so he shared those with us to read for additional information! As mentioned above we had 2 treks with the Gorillas in Uganda and it was worth every penny! Each day was a completely different experience following different gorilla families. We crossed into Rwanda for the golden monkey tour in Volcanoes National Park after our two amazing treks in Uganda. The trek to see the Golden monkeys was good too but nothing compared to the Gorilla Treks. Everything else about the tour was great the accommodations, the food, the car and more. Thanks again Joachim and Uzuri Uganda Safaris we will never forget this experience!!!!

Great way to celebrate our anniversary
5/5

We had a great time on our 3 day safari to Murchison Falls. Edris was very quick in all his responses as we planned everything. He provided great service taking care of all the details. Ronnie, our guide and driver, was awesome. He made the trip more fun. He was always on time. The vehicle was in great condition, clean and fun to ride in. We stayed at Pakuba resort. The food was great and the room was nice. We recommend getting a room with AC, we requested it but not all rooms have it. Ronnie found all kinds of animals for us to watch and he knew how to get around the park very well. I can't say enough about how everything I asked for in the trip was provided without a problem. Our trip was seamless. Thanks goes to Edris and Ronnie for making our 25th anniversary trip so memorable.

Efficient, well organised and good value for money; we will go with Uzuri again.
5/5

Edris put together a personal 5 night, 6 day trip from our Kampala hotel to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Straightforward pick up and drop off.
We were given a Landcruiser rather than mini-van. A good choice for a long cruise, with some bumpy safari roads.
There was a good balance between activities and relaxation time in the Bush Lodge.
The Bush Lodge is a magical place, great food, helpful friendly staff and a chance to have breakfast 15 meters from a a feeding elephant.
3 great game drives; Cob antelopes, Waterbucks, buffalo, leopard, baboons, lions, elephants, warthogs all on show.
The boat trip allowed close views of over 200 hippos plus fish eagles, Nile monitor lizards, drinking elephants and buffalos.
The 4 hour jungle walk to see the chimpanzees in the wild, was a mysterious, magical trip through 'impenetrable' forest, just off the roadside, with 2 guides/trackers who were good company.
The biggest surprise was to the Lake of Salt, meeting the local people working in a difficult, challenging conditions in a hostile environment. They were fine people and told us a lot about salt mining in a very delicate ecological environment, going back 500 years.
Vincent, our tour leader and driver, and also a very welcome dinner companion when we asked him; a careful driver, knowledgeable on local wildlife as well as the local customs. Good fun to stop off at roadside markets and buy local food, including a few chickens [$5 apiece, for Vincent's family]. Everything about this tour, including value for money, was spot-on. We will go with them again.

Great operator - highly recommended!!
5/5

We had a great time seeing the gorillas at the Bwindi impenetrable forest. We made a late decision to go to Uganda to do the gorilla hike off the back of a business trip to Malawi. Edris at Uzuri was very helpful in making all of the necessary arrangements for us and the trip went without a hitch. He was always available and very responsive to speak to or message via whats app. The accommodation he arranged for us was perfect for our purposes and set us up well for our short stay in Uganda. He obtained our gorilla permits with little notice and also arranged our internal flight. We arrived late into Entebbe and overnighted at the Karabu Lodge which was just perfect. Transfers both ways were provided by the lodge (as was a packed lunch) and we flew out the next morning to Kihihi. En route, the Aerolink flight flew low over the Queen Elizabeth National Park where we observed literally hundreds of hippos as well as elephants and wildebeest sunning themselves by the river. We met Vincent, our local guide, at Kihihi airstrip. He’s a great guy with a great sense of humour. We did the local community village walking tour at Ruhija before spending the night at the Bakiga lodge. Next morning at 8am, we assembled at the meeting point at the Bwindi forest for our briefing before setting off for what turned out to be a 2 hour 4.5km hike through the forest. Trekkers preceding us had located the gorilla family we were rendezvousing with and we spent a magical hour observing them from very close up… so close that one young gorilla playfully shoulder-charged one of our group who was kneeling down to take some photos.
Although I’m pretty unfit and we were at 6500’ altitude, the hike back was not too bad. It was certainly worth the effort to see the gorillas in their natural habitat. Vincent then drove us to the Birsdnest Lodge at Lake Bunyara which is another magical spot. We could have spent another day there had we had more time. Next morning we set off early for the 7 hour drive back to Entebbe. We chose to drive so we could see more of the wonderful scenery in that part of the country. It was a wise choice .. with the added bonus of crossing the equator and checking out whether water really does flow anti clockwise or clockwise…. What do you think
