Terms & Conditions
1. Booking and Confirmation
All safari bookings with Wikima Safari Expeditions are subject to availability and confirmation by our team. A booking is considered confirmed once the required deposit has been received and written confirmation has been issued.
We aim to confirm bookings within 24 hours of receiving a completed booking request.
2. Payment
A 60% deposit is required to confirm your safari booking. The remaining 40% balance is payable on arrival in Kenya, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payments may be made through the payment methods provided by Wikima Safari Expeditions, including M-Pesa and card payments. All online payments are processed through secure payment systems.
3. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellations made 30 days or more before the scheduled travel date are eligible for a full refund of the deposit paid.
For cancellations made less than 30 days before travel, refund eligibility may depend on commitments already made to accommodation providers, transport providers, parks, guides, and other suppliers. Any applicable refund will be communicated to the client after assessment of the costs incurred.
We strongly recommend that all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical emergencies, delays, lost luggage, and other unforeseen circumstances.
4. Changes to Bookings and Itineraries
Wikima Safari Expeditions may adjust an itinerary when necessary due to weather conditions, road conditions, park regulations, wildlife considerations, accommodation availability, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where possible, we will consult with the client before making significant changes and provide a suitable alternative.
Requests made by clients to change travel dates, accommodation, activities, or other arrangements may be subject to availability and additional charges.
5. Accommodation
Accommodation is provided according to the itinerary and booking confirmation. Where a selected property becomes unavailable, Wikima Safari Expeditions may provide an alternative property of a similar standard, subject to availability.
Any significant difference in cost will be communicated to the client.
6. Wildlife and Safari Activities
Wildlife sightings are naturally unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed. Our guides will make every reasonable effort to provide excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities while respecting park regulations, wildlife, and the natural environment.
Guests are expected to follow the instructions of their safari guide and comply with all national park, conservancy, and wildlife regulations.
7. Health, Safety and Personal Responsibility
Clients are responsible for informing Wikima Safari Expeditions of any medical conditions, mobility limitations, dietary requirements, allergies, or other circumstances that may affect their safari experience.
Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by our guides and staff.
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, visas, vaccinations or health documentation where required, travel insurance, and any other documents necessary for their journey.
8. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all guests. Insurance should provide appropriate cover for medical emergencies, evacuation, cancellation, interruption, baggage loss, delays, and other travel-related risks.
Wikima Safari Expeditions is not responsible for losses that could reasonably have been covered by appropriate travel insurance.
9. Park Fees and Included Services
Services included in a safari will be clearly stated in the client's itinerary or booking confirmation. These may include accommodation, transportation, meals, park or conservancy fees, activities, and guiding services, depending on the selected package.
Items not specifically stated as included are the responsibility of the client.
10. Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, travel documents, electronic devices, and luggage throughout the safari. Wikima Safari Expeditions will take reasonable care but cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
11. Force Majeure
Wikima Safari Expeditions shall not be liable for failure or delay in providing services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, government restrictions, civil disturbances, road closures, strikes, epidemics, changes in wildlife or park regulations, or other unforeseen events.
We will make reasonable efforts to assist clients and arrange suitable alternatives where possible.
12. Responsible Tourism
Wikima Safari Expeditions is committed to sustainable and responsible tourism. Guests are expected to respect wildlife, local communities, cultural practices, protected areas, and the natural environment.
We encourage responsible travel practices that contribute to conservation and support local communities.
13. Client Conduct
Wikima Safari Expeditions reserves the right to take appropriate action where a guest's behavior creates a serious safety risk, damages property, violates local laws or regulations, or significantly disrupts the experience of other guests.
Any additional costs arising from such conduct may be charged to the responsible guest.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking with Wikima Safari Expeditions, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions should be read together with the client's safari itinerary, quotation, booking confirmation, and any additional written agreements provided by Wikima Safari Expeditions.
