The company was founded by professional safari guide Teko Mbwe Ketlogetswe, who has over 30 years of guiding experience, and his wife, Tshwarry Ketlogetswe, an accomplished tourism professional with extensive experience working for various lodges and safari companies across Botswana.

Born and raised in the Okavango Delta, he grew up surrounded by its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. From an early age, he developed an intimate understanding of the Delta's ecosystems, animal behaviour, and hidden wilderness areas. Combined with more than three decades as a professional guide, his deep-rooted knowledge and passion allow guests to experience Botswana through the eyes of someone who calls this remarkable wilderness home.
Driven by their shared passion for wildlife, tourism, and creating authentic safari experiences, Teko and Tshwarry established Baxanekhwe Safaris to share the beauty and magic of Botswana with travellers from around the world. The company was registered with CIPA in 2013, obtained its tourism licence in 2016, and officially began operations in 2017.
