The tour company Bellavista Safaris was registered in November 2018 out of an idea of Pietro Averono an Italian who came to Uganda in 1980, just a year after the fall of the Ugandan President Idi Amin Dada.
The long living in Uganda made Pietro involved with culture, politics, environment and the economy of this wonderful country also called by Winston Churchill the Pearl of Africa.
After his 35 years in Uganda as a technician and as a staff of the Italian Embassy, Pietro felt that tourism was a positive sector for investment and for the preservation of the environment. He built a lodge named Lodge Bella Vista just at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountain in an area populated by crater lakes and all kinds of plants and fruits (mangoes, avocadoes, papayas) and just 20 km from Kibale National Park, 60km from Queen Elizabeth National Park and 35km from Rwenzori National Park.
Bellavista Safaris is a tour company owned by Pietro Averono and two other partners, Eric Ssenyonga and Ronald Nyakahuma. Our office is located in Kampala in Nsambya Church Zone, right behind the American Embassy.
