Safari Porini -Professional, knowledgeable & experienced! We Loved our 7-Day Safari Vacation!
5/5

It’s hard to stop reminiscing of our family’s amazing Tanzanian vacation. Safari Porini was our host and planner on a 7 day Safari dream vacation that was better than we had imagined (minus the airline delaying one luggage). If you’re considering a Safari, I highly recommend Safari Porini. Charles the owner of Safari Porini will take care of everything and will be very accommodating to all your needs. Charles is well-experienced, knowledgeable and a very professional guide who has a superb eye for spotting the more difficult animals. Safari Porini’s price stood very reasonable. And unlike many larger companies, Safari Porini had no daily max mileage in their jeeps, which meant we were able to venture far away from the typical “jeep groupings” and sight animals all to ourselves up-close. Included in the price was excellent accommodations and tasty meals. 5-Stars are given from every family member for our experience with Safari Porini in Tanzania! Thanks Charles!

Excellent safari!
5/5

In the end of october 2016 we went on a 4-day camping safari with Safari Porini. We went to Tarangiri, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. It was fantastic! There were only three of us in the vehicle plus Charles, who was our guide and drive, and Anwar, who was our chef (and makes the best pancakes!!!).
Before the safari Charles (our guide) was very helpful. We had to go to many different ATMs to get enough money and Charles drove us all around Arusha, so we wouldn't have to walk around with that much money. I would recommend bringing US Dollars to Tanzania to make things easier.
The safari started with an early morning pick-up at our hotel in Arusha. Charles let us decide for ourselves when we wanted to leave but recommended us to leave early to we would have as much time as possible in Tarangire National Park, which was our first stop. In Tarangire we saw lions, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, elephants, giraffes and lots of other animals. Charles is an excellent guide! He knows a lot about the park and the animals, and he could answer any question we asked him (and that was a lot!). We also saw lions feeding on a zebra that they had just killed. Unfortunately we missed the hunt!
From Tarangire we drove to our campsite in the town of Mto Wa Mbu. When we arrived the tents were already erected and we had time to shower and take a swim in the pool before dinner. Dinner was served and what a dinner! There was more than enough food and it was delicious.
The next day (after an excellent breakfast) we drove to Serengeti, passing Ngorongoro Crater, where we stopped for a stunning view. At the entrance to Serengeti we had our lunch pack, which was homemade. We had a chance to look at the view while Charles and Anwar fixed our papers. We spent the day driving around Serengeti. It is a very big area and the animals are much further apart than in Tarangire, but again Charles was fantastic at spotting the animals. We were up close to three lions, so close that I could almost touch them. We got some excellent pictures! We are saw a leopard which had just killed an antelope. The day after we came back, where it was eating it in a tree. We were so close, you could here the bones crunching!
We came late in the afternoon to our campsite where we had time to shower before dinner. After dinner we were looking at the stars and a hyena passed by about 30 meters from where we were sitting. Charles was there to make us feel safe and told us not to go out in the middle of the night to go to the toilet.
The next morning we drove our very early to watch the sunrise. We saw a pack of hyenas hunting a small antelope. We drove for many hours and again saw lots of animals including a cheetah up close where we were the only vehicle nearby. After a late brunch we drove around some more and then continued to the campsite by Ngorongoro Crater. Here we spent the night after a hot shower with zebras wallking around the campsite.
The next stay we started out early to get as much time as possible in the crater. Fantastic views and lots of animals. We even spotted the black rhinoceros after searching for a while. It was far away and hidden in the bushes, but again Charles with his excellent skills made sure that we found it.
At last it was time to go home because our time was up, and we had to make it out of the Ngorongoro area before our pass ran out.
All in all it was a fantastic trip! It more than lived up to my expectations and we also arranged a trip to Kilimanjaro with the same company. Charles offers a reasonable price and has a limit to how low he will go so as not to compromise the quality of the trip. I can definitely recommend Safari Porini to anyone.
