Walter from Safari Online was absolutely brilliant in helping arrange our dream Botswana trip.
At the start of our Botswana trip planning I was totally confused and overwhelmed with the choices of places to visit and accommodations on offer. Over a few weeks, Walter guided us through the decision making process with incredible efficiency, patience and adeptness. His responses from afar ( we live in Australia) were always prompt, polite and very helpful. We eventually were able to organise an itinerary which fulfilled our every need and wildest dreams. We couldn't have asked for a better Botswana experience.
We visited Chobe, Savute and the Okavango Delta and we so pleased with Walter's suggestion to visit these three diverse and amazing places in Botswana. They were all different but thrilling in their own way. The amount of wildlife we saw in each place was just mind blowing.
The organisation of the trip by Walter was seamless.

BEST experience ever! Couldn't be a happier first time visitor.
We had a FANTASTIC trip with no hiccups whatsoever as we visited 3 countries and stayed at 6 different places in 2 weeks. Kudos to our agent Walter Kohrs for ensuring we had the best experience ever! We left our hearts and minds in Botswana and Cape Town.
Walter helped me plan this trip so thoughtfully. He was detailed and articulate in giving me lots of tips(on which places to visit, immigration documentation etc), making sure I felt comfortable by always promptly responding to my emails, addressing each and every little detail and answering my bazillion questions. I was a first time nervous visitor, especially since I was traveling alone with kids but all his information helped me out a lot.
We really enjoyed our safari experiences at the lodges in Botswana. Wildlife viewing was the highlight of our trip but coming back to a cozy comfortable place to stay and eating delicious foods can't be discounted. Luxurious lodging went a long ways in giving my kids a fantastic experience they are going to treasure for life.
All our flights were on time, each and every place we had folks come receive us and drop us off on time. In Botswana- our stays at all the lodges were fabulous. Transfers between lodges were very well coordinated and executed on time. Staff at each and every lodge in Botswana and even in Victoria falls were friendly and their hospitality was remarkably professional and punctual. We loved all our guides and the kids had a blast all through out the trip.
Our safari experiences were amazing - we couldn't get enough of the wildlife and sceneries in spite of doing almost 11 safaris. We saw everything except wild dogs and leopard. In Cape Town, staff at Primi sea castle and Hylton Ross travels were awesome. I am now considering visiting some other countries in Africa that offer superior wildlife viewing and cultural experiences.

extremely attentive and knowledgable
This is now my second time making a booking with Walter and yet again he nails it!! and I am by no means an easy customer!! I very much enjoy making my own bookings and so rarely do I use a tour operator - but Walter has now changed my mind! He is extremely knowledgeable, attentive and patient. he answers every question and really goes out of his way to get to know you and make sure that whatever he recommends/suggests is right for you. I really enjoy dealing with him and his suggestions so far have been spot on!!

Karina organised an amazing trip
I contacted Karina at quite short notice to organise our safari trip as my trip to Kenya was cancelled.
From the beginning, Karina stood out against other tour operators as she was so friendly and managed to find us availability in Sabi Sands which other agents couldn’t find.
Karina organised everything for us including transfers and I couldn’t fault any of the trip - it was all better than I expected and I have actually recommended Karina and this exact itinerary to friends who want to visit South Africa too.
The safaris were amazing - we stayed for 2 nights in Sabi Sands and 3 nights at Timbavati - The lodge at sabi sands felt a bit more luxurious whereas the lodge at timbavati was more friendly and homely (both were amazing but it was good to experience both!).
I’m happy that Karina recommended that we visited two different game reserves - both were wonderful but had differences and we saw all of the big 5 and experienced so many amazing sights - including wild dogs and a pack of lions eating a zebra.
Karina made everything easy and put my mind at ease over certain parts of the trip (I had no reason to be worried).
Thanks Karina!
Karina booked an amazing tour and was very professional and responsive throughout the process.
We just got back from South Africa and miss it already. Our trip was the best vacation I’ve had up to date. When booking a trip for Africa who knows where to start. I recommend Karina at Safari Online. She probably learn reading this review that I was in discussion with 2 other African Tour Operators when initially planning. Not only was Karina more responsive than then others. Her trip was the best value as well. For example, Karina planned a safari that was a 3 star lodge (Baobob) and a 5 star lodge (Simbabelli). The quotes from the other companies were the same price but included only a 3 star accommodation and 3-4 star accommodation. If I would’ve went with the competitor I would’ve missed out on the luxury service and accommodations Simbambelli provided.
As for the trip itself we went for 11 nights.
We flew into JHB and stayed at an awesome B&B- Sunrock Gueshouse. Place was awesome. Has everything you need. If you’re like us and only staying for one night the last thing you want to do is have to leave the BB to go get food or what not. Food was good and the setup was even better as the owners run the bar and are down to party or have a great conversation.
We flew from Hoeduspruit to Kruger the next day where we stayed at Baobab Ridge for three nights. Our room was awesome as it’s faces the watering hole. About 30 elephants came through during the day which we viewed from our personal balcony.
We had a two hour drive to Samambelli. The drive itself was interesting as we drove through some poverty stricken areas.
We arrived to Sabi sands our accommodations were next level. Definite 5 star feeling from the moment we arrived. Are room was magnificent as well as the public area. The food was amazing as well.
At both lodges we saw the “big five”. Leopards are more prone in Sabi sands. Elephants and giraffes were always around. We had the pleasure of seeing rhinos and lions. It was just amazing.
We finished the trip three nights in Capetown. It’s a cool city but if I had to do again I would’ve kept on the safari trek and flew to Victoria falls or another safari in a different country.
Overall this trip was a 10/10.

Fantastic Botswana, Zambia, South Africa trip
Walter was awesome throughout the initial communications process and quickly offered multiple options each time we amended the original itinerary, until we ultimately settled on Botswana, Zambia and South Africa.
Each location was unique, and that was by design. The lodges were all great, and each one was nicer than the last, culminating at Savanna in the Sabi Sands GR. Likewise, the game viewing improved with each location.
I can't say enough about Walter's efforts in helping us put together a great trip. We wouldn't hesitate to work with him again when we book another safari.

Responsive and Knowledgeable
Many people describe an Africa safari tour as a “trip of a lifetime.” Our Safari Online representative helped us design a customized tour that exceeded our expectations and stayed within our budget. Our in-country experience offered the same benefits as a large group tour (transport, drivers, support) with none of the usual hassle of a large group experience. We traveled as a customized tour group of two women and felt safe at every stage. Safari Online built a safari experience that began at a high level and each succeeding Lodge/safari experience exceeded the last one.

Fantastic planning experience and trip of a lifetime
My experience with Walter Kohrs of Safari Online was literally perfect. From the very first contact to the follow-up after our vacation, Walter was as professional and friendly as a person can be. He provided prompt and informative answers in the planning phase of our vacation and was very patient with my many questions regarding places to visit, places to stay, pricing, activities, etc... Once we had decided where we were going and what we would be doing, he continued to respond to any and all questions I had about our upcoming vacation. With respect to the vacation itself, it truly was a trip of a lifetime and exceeded our expectations. We visited Tanzania for safaris and Uganda for gorilla trekking. Our guides and the companies we were set up with were wonderful. We saw all the animals we had hoped for and more. The day-to-day game drive experiences were fantastic. We also had the opportunity to do some game walks and a balloon ride. We were able to visit local communities and schools and thus had some exposure to the local cultures. We stayed in wonderful places (e.g., camps, lodges), met lovely people, and ate very good food. We could not hope for better experiences and this was due to the fact that Walter Kohrs truly listened to what we wanted and made it happen. I would not hesitate to recommend Safari Online and Walter Kohrs.
