Good communication, reliable, very nice and definitively worth it to book with this operator
5/5

Communication and coordination with Nestor before booking the tour was very easy, no pressure, we had a good feeling, which is important becauae you don't know each other in this phaae. He answered all questions which were important to us prior our booking clearly so that we decided to book with his company. He was picking us in our hotel and we had a safe ride and nice and interesting talks during the ride to the National Park area. The Safari tours we did with his colleagues, mostly with Nickson who was a really nice friendly and funny tour guide with a lot of knowledge and initiative to explain a lot. We appreciate very much his high effort to find elephants for us in the game drive. We had a lot of fun and are so grateful for Nestor, Nickson and all other colleagues involved for giving us an unforgettable Safari experience which was much better than expected.

Also a lot of thanks for the staff at the lodge. The both girls were so kind and friendly, were preparing delicious breakfast, dinner and lunch and made our stay very comfortable. The lodges itself were clean, beds comfortable and very nice atmosphere.

We would definitely recommend with this operator, you will not regret it.

Professional and organised and offering a good deal
5/5

Did a three days safari at the end of November. It has a wonderful experience! In the first day I arrived from Sar es Salaam and after been greeted by the personnel at the Selous River View Lodge, I went to the boat safari on the Rufiji river. The second day I did a car safari all day long and the last day I did the walking safari and came back to Dar. Everyone has always been professional and the food was really good and the guides were always fun and engaging!

Wonderful Experience
5/5

I really enjoyed my three day safari in Nyerere with Selous explorer.
Everything went smoothly from the pickup up until the drive back.
We had really nice condition for observing the animals on the Rufiji and inside the National Park.
The riverview lodge is very special and you can observe hippotamus and blue monkeys just while eating breakfast. Buffaloes and elephants come quite near the lodge too.

The comfort there was excellent and I enjoyed the food very much - always very flavourful vegetarian options.
The lodge to sleep is very spacious and and comfortable.

My only criticism is the walking safari. I expected a quiet early morning walk to find animals in the bush and learn about botany. But we got this performance by a “bush man” which honestly made me really uncomfortable. I really hope Tanzanians don’t believe Europeans have this view of rural Tanzanians and want to see this kind of thing (gnawing on tree bark, wearing animal skulls, eating insects, climbing on things etc.). You could tell the actor knew a lot about botany and medicinal usages of the plants. He even told us about accompanying professors to date the Baobabs. That made his act even more confusing to me. Others in the tour seemed to found it entertaining though…

I still enjoyed the safari over all and wish Nestor and his employees all the best!

We went to selous nationalpark with Nestor. He is a very good guide. His knowledge about the park end the animals is fantastic. We were lucky to see most of the animal in the park.

Selous Safari exceeded our expectations. Nestor and his team was amazing guide.
5/5

We can´t thank to Nestor enough for everything he did for us, he was a caring guide, he tried his best for us to see all the animals in Nyerere park. We were prepared that we wouldn't see everything, that it was a matter of luck, but we did, and only thanks to Nestor. Thanks to Nestor, we have unforgettable experiences for a lifetime.
We really enjoyed not only the safari park in the car, but also the river boat and the morning walking tour with the bushman.
And our thanks also go to the team of workers at the camp who took excellent care of us, the food was excellent, the accommodation was modest but very clean and provided everything we needed.
If you, the next, future travelers, have similar principles as us - to share as much money as possible for the locals, choose Nestor and Selous Safari. You won't regret it. The services are excellent.

The staff is friendly and professional. They know a lot about the area and the wildlife, and went the extra steps to make the experience perfect for me. The accomodation was comfortable and in a beautiful location. The price is fantastic for everything you get out of it.

Amazing Safari, I highly recommend
5/5

A friend recommended us the safari and we booked it immediately. It is a lot cheaper in comparison to the tours you can find online when you are searching for a safari trip so it was perfect for us as we are travelling on a low budget. We got picked up from our hotel, and when we arrived at the accommodation, we were nearly too stunned to speak. The accommodation is literally next to the river on a cliff and the restaurant overlooks the beautiful nature. In the evening you eat your dinner watching the sunrise and the river. The food was outstanding itself, we (a friend and I) were the only guests because we came off-season and they still prepared a buffet for us. The cook was really good, we ate fresh fish, fruits, fresh juices and everything we could have wished for. It sounds like I am exaggerating but we loved it there so much and I would always recommend it again. Our room was simple but we stayed there for 2 nights and it was totally fine for us. Of course you can’t expect a 5 star room, but except for that they did everything possible for us to feel comfortable. When we arrived we did a boat safari and saw hippos and crocodiles. The highlight was our second day with a day long game drive. Nestor, our guide, drove us to hidden spots and we saw so many animals. We got very close to some elephants, saw lions and we had the most amazing day. If you are looking for a nice safari that feels more like staying with friends, this safari is perfect. We loved that it wasn’t so focused on tourism and it was more private. I highly recommend it and I hope I can visit again!
