Perfection could not be better than working with Laurette McKinnon at Pembury Tours
We began planning our trip to southern Africa more than a year in advance and Laurette was with us 100% in crafting the trip of a lifetime. It was excellent - and more affordable - not only to work with someone already in South Africa, but someone who has actually been to the properties and knows things first hand. She took great care to fully understand our interests and preferences and crafted a safari and a finale at Victoria Falls that was perfect in every way and exceeded our expectations on a regular basis. Due to our travels prior to the safari, it was not possible to get our formal travel documents prior to our departure from the States. Not a problem for Laurette. She most kindly had them couriered to our guest house in Hermanus and they were awaiting us upon our arrival. She even checked in with us on a regular basis while on safari just to ensure that everything was to our liking and going well. We loved the Sanctuary properties. Baines Camp and Chobe Chilwero could not have been more different and thus offered the full spectrum of a safari experience. I'd stay in any Sanctuary camp again in a heartbeat.
Along with the wonderful memories (and photos), we'll also always cherish our new friend Laurette. If I ever make it back to South Africa, Port Elizabeth will be on my list so I can take Laurette to lunch and give her a big hug. She is the very best of the best.

Pembury Tours arranged a two week trip to Cape Town, Sabi Sands and Botswana - Amazing.
I do a great deal of travel research and typically book my own vacations. Africa was a bit daunting and having Pembury Tours local in South Africa was super helpful. Heidi was great to work with - she was professional, prompt and flexible with my feedback and changes at all times.
I had plenty of options presented for locations, lodgings and tours. Heidi worked with me seamlessly to ensure me and my family maximized our time in Africa. The tour guides were super and the transfers were so helpful. The driver that Pembury arranged for us to get to Johannesburg airport stayed with us until we were safely into security - so helpful.
I would not hesitate in referring friends or family to Pembury and Heidi.

Pembury Tours definitely met and exceeded our expectations.
My wife and I have travelled a lot and are fairly experienced in planning vacations. We had been planning this trip for some time when we ran into reviews of Pembury Tours. We started asking questions; they responded immediately and in a few short days, we ended up with a custom-designed tour to our full satisfaction. All the while, they have been quite responsive and supporting. Kerry, our consultant, has been the most professional one we have ever worked with. She does know a lot about whatever is available and did offer the best combinations with sometimes several alternatives. We added to our plans during the tour, but with Kerry, there were no problems at all; she organised everything within a day, the latest. Four days in Cape Town, three in Livingstone, one night on the way back and another three at Kruger NP. Not a single thing went wrong. All guides were very professional, knowledgable, informative and kind.
Celebrated my 60th birthday among breathtaking scenes, abundant wildlife and luxurious accommodations. This definitely has been an experience of a lifetime, all thanks to Pembury Tours.

South Africa Safari and Vic Falls
y wife and I researched safari companies for several weeks (we looked into about 10 highly rated ones). We ended up going with Pembury because they were very competitively priced, responsive, and knowledgeable. Our Pembury contact was Anya and she proved to be GREAT! We did everything by email and she was very thorough. She even gave us hour by hour updates when one of our flights was delayed. She accommodated a walking tour addition mid trip and responded to all of our questions within 24 hours (many times within the hour). We ended up doing two lodges in Sabi Sands (around Kruger) for 5 total nights and Victoria falls for 2 nights. The lodges were great and logistics were all well coordinated. If any of our friends decide to go on a safari, we'll be recommending Pembury and Anya.

Everything was perfect, all services superb, they reacted fast on all our demands,...
They really made a programm as we wished, they were helpful before the journey and also during the journey, accomodation was more than the best, all other: vehicle quality, punctually of delivery and collection was amazing, they were always 15 minutes before departure.
We were very surprised about the presents and book with maps and itinerary for each passenger - Pambury Tours - thank you for this!

Six demanding customers (really) completely satisfied!
One couple had been to Africa several times and the other two were looking for the trip of a lifetime. Somehow, by what I referred to as "Melanie Magic", we all got what we wanted. An extensive knowledge of everything that is available, a high level of communication and a willingness to go that bit further, all while making it a collaborative effort, gave us that dreamed-of trip. The properties were wonderful with the small touches that make a trip seem so special. Not one arrangement went awry and the detailed documentation made it worry free. If you want to be spoiled while seeing all the animals and sights you cannot go wrong with Pembury Tours.
They are very knowledgeable and professional in their approach
They are very professional and design a great 2 weeks based on our requirements and budget. We covered South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Drivers/guides had great knowledge and communication skills. Hotels selected were comfortable and met our expectations as we asked for a 4 star package.

The Garden Route was enjoyable and overnight stays very pleasant - above-average accommodations. The safaris were luxurious and more than we could have hoped for. We thought the safaris were expensive when quoted but now understand why they were pricy - amazing resorts that were an experience of a lifetime. Service at each resort was incredible as were the meals. Safari staff were very knowledgable and attentive as well as flexible. We loved very minute of this amazing adventure. All of our expectations were met and more!

Our only disappointment was that our driver during the Garden Route continually ran 'interference' with the person in our group who had done a lot of research and had a clear idea of what we wished to do. He took us to places he insisted were worthy of our time but most were not. He resisted many of our suggestions, never asked us if we had plans for the day and only after almost 'ganging' up on him, did he reluctantly agree to drive us where we asked. There was obvious tension between him and our group 'leader' which made things less pleasant. His attire was also a bit too 'informal' plus we had no microphone for the entire tour (it broke the first hour of the first day), so he really didn't operate as a guide. He promised to get it repaired but was not able to do so. Disappointing. Pembury and Tammy did a wonderful job helping us plan and carry out a very special tour.
