Poor Communication
While I really enjoyed my safari, I felt that Mega Adventures wasn't exactly honest with us about what we were getting. This safari was a little more expensive than other options, so we were hoping it would be higher quality service. Two out of the four in our group were vegetarians, and we confirmed multiple times that we would need vegetarian food for them and were promised that this would happen - our first lunch was fried chicken and our guide & cook had no idea that any of us were vegetarian. They also convinced us to sign up for a "walking safari" and sold it as an awesome up close experience with the animals - when we started the safari the guide told us "no, we never see animals here" - so we just felt cheated. I really liked our guide and our chef Massawe was amazing, but the overall organization was poor and no one accepted any responsibility for these mistakes - no apology, just passing the blame to someone else.

Posted on Jul 5, 2017Dear Ashley,
Thanks for the information about your experience. We highly apologized for the first day lunch package was overlooked by your guide. The office had well informed him. This was communicated with your friend and we agreed he will be accountable for it and a refund for the lunch be done after safari together with a treat. We agreed upon meeting at our office to discuss the matter we still are waiting for this chance.
The walking safari on the crater rim is mainly for scenery, this was briefed at the office, up close to wildlife is what you can experience on a walking safari in Tarangire. However to just let you know that nothing can rule nature we can never guarantee anything in the wilderness since its not a zoo. We have had clients see Lions, Giraffes, Zebras on the same walk you did.
I hope you appreciated the better grade of service we offer apart from the lunch packaging mistake.

Good Safari Experience
The communication with the company was really good. Our driver (Mobarack) was really skilled. He was well experienced, always in a good mood and very communicative. We did a 6 day / 5 night safari. This was our fist safari. The itinerary of our trip was good , altough, I do believe that 4 days/ 3 night safari is good enough , Serengeti is by far the best park. Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara were also good but still they do not offer the same experience of a Serengeti Safari .

perfect 5 days safari with experienced driver, guide and cook
The communication with Mega Adventures was very good. The office is experienced and is flexible with finding a custom fit safari experience. We had a good safari trip, the guide/driver was very helpful and looked for the best spots every day. The diners were basic but good. Regarding the settings (we had a camp safari) the cook delivered good food en service. We enjoyed the trip! Felt like genuine.

If you don't want to worry about anything - rely on Mega Adventures :-)
M for Mohamed Atik, the founder and owner of Mega Adventures.
We have never met a person who's more caring than he is. Any question, any wish, any sorrow, any problem- he listens, he answers, he solves, he makes it come true.
E for Enjoyable. Enjoyable was everything about our 4-day budget safari. Hussen our driver and guide was 100% concentrated and exactly knowing what he's doing. He is a safe, calm and patient driver, who is very eager to find the animals in all the hidden places.
When we could not see many animals in Tarangire he was somehow disappointed, because he's so ambitious and wants to show as much as possible.
The one and only cook Mudi prepared all the famous meals that made me feel like I'm home. He cooks as good as my mother (what is the highest compliment I could give ;-)) Everything was perfectly organized although it was somehow a spontaneous trip- but it felt like it was planned for ages.
G for Game drives: One game drive in Tarangire, two in Serengeti and one in Ngorongoro Crater. It was exciting, never became boring.
All in All: MEGA Adventures is a small and also new company but it's giving its best to satisfy the clients and everyone who is working there does it with lots of passion, power and excitement. Plus: They make you feel like a part of the team, a piece of a chocolate cake and not a drop in the ocean.
For sure, like all the other companies, they can't change the weather or the actions of the animals - but they don't give you any reason to be sad about anything.
I'm looking forward to my next safari with them when I come back to Tanzania.
Thank you Mega Adventures for all the unforgettable moments

Great safari that exceeded our expectations
Mega Adventures organised a great safari for us; 4 days, 3 nights to Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Part of the programme was to follow the great migration, for which we went all the way to the northern edge of the Serengeti. Views were spectacular, with wildebeests everywhere you looked. During the safari, we saw many animals, including the lion and elephant (close distance), rhino (in Ngorongoro crater), hyenas, almost every animal you would hope to see.
As we opted for the budget safari, we camped in little tents. This was quite exciting, as there are no fences around the campsite. During our last night, we saw some zebras at the camping site. The quality of the meals was fine (the fact that I eat vegetarian was no problem). The tour guides were knowledgeable. The schedule was pretty tight; going all the way up northern Serengeti takes a lot of time. We often felt that we were in a rush, not allowing us to spend as much time watching animals as we would like. However, since the guide (Ibrahim) often decided that we had to move on, we saw probably more animals (and better views) than we would have if we would have taken it easy. He knew very well to set priorities, searching for the most spectacular scenes.
Initially, the Maasai cultural interaction was included in our itinerary, but it turned out that we did not have enough time to do this. However, I was glad that we took as much time as possible for game viewing.
Altogether a very good experience and well organised. Another major advantage of booking with Mega Adventures is that they did an effort combining groups (which is why they could offer a competitive price) - perfect for individuals searching for a group to join.

everything was really good and we felt comfortable with mega adeventures before and during the whole trip. our guide was really nice and we had lot's of fun together. There could be more informations given about the landscape perhaps but in conclusion i really can recomand it!
Absolutly Outstanding
We had an unforgettable journey through Tanzania with Mega Adventures Travel and Klüger Reisen: 4 days on Mount Meru with Daniel and Rajab, 1 day in Tarangire with Patrick, and 4 days in Serengeti & Ngorongoro with Fidelis. From start to finish, everything was flawlessly organized – reliable, punctual, and with great attention to detail.
Our guides were not only highly skilled but also incredibly kind. We learned so much about nature, wildlife, and culture, picked up some Swahili, and even taught Fidelis more German than he already knew. On Mount Meru, I wasn’t feeling well on summit day, but I was looked after with extraordinary care, which allowed me to still enjoy the experience.
The highlight of the safari: right next to our tent in the Serengeti, we witnessed lions chasing a buffalo for over 40 minutes – an absolutely breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime moment. Despite the intensity of the scene, we always felt completely safe. The food, accommodations, and overall organization were excellent.
One note for travelers: when visiting a Maasai village, the souvenirs can be very expensive, and prices are usually only mentioned at the end. However, you can find beautiful handmade art in other places for fairer prices.
In summary: This trip exceeded all of our expectations. A huge thank you to the entire team – we can wholeheartedly recommend Mega Adventures Travel & Klüger Reisen!
The Prices were absolut fair and worth it!

Perfect and close to clients wishes!
15 days (!) together with Hussein, 5 national parcs, one game reserve and several UNESCO heritage sites, round about 2500 kilometers save driving: it was a really marvellous trip. Due to the incredible ability of Hussein spotting birds or mammals while driving we even saw a young leopard next to the road and as Hussein was familiar with the big cats in Serengeti we saw cheetahs, more leopards and lions as well as all three species of jackals, not to count many species of birds and mammals from pigmy kingfisher to elephants. Enroute the agency organized a wonderful visit at Kondoa rock art, which should be appreciated by more visitors.
A big thank you to Hussein for all his kindness and patience and his way to present his country to us.
Mega Adventures is highly recommended by us!

Top quality operator - 10/10 experience
We had an absolutely fantastic time - starting with a 5-day walking safari in Enduimet Wildlife Conservation area near Kilimanjaro and the Kenyan border, followed by a 6-day jeep safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
Everything was exceptionally well organized. MEGA were highly efficient and responsive, even when unforeseen issues arose—such as locating and forwarding our luggage, which had been lost en route to Tanzania, and assisting us with emergency shopping for safari clothing and equipment.
The entire team was made up of genuinely warm, honest, capable, and kind-hearted people. Our phenomenal guide Livingston and ranger Sam managed to spot all of the Big Five (and much more), shared a wealth of knowledge about wildlife and Maasai culture, and even helped us build a solid foundation in Swahili. The meals prepared in the bush during the walking safari by Masawe and Eddy were outstanding—easily on par with those served at the best lodges we stayed in. Drivers Raja, Faraji, and Johnson ensured we traveled comfortably and reliably throughout.
We would all do it again with MEGA in a heartbeat. Anyone who ever asks me about going on safari in Tanzania, I will immediately point in the company’s direction. Asante sana sana.
