Simply perfect !!
So much to say about this Safari. At first at the agency we were a bit confused but after a while everything went clear.Benoit took us back at the hôtel. Then we were in contact with Toufik the driver who was also our guide. What an amazing person, very professional,he answered all our questions and beyond. He knew where to go to find the different species of animals. He offered an excellent service. We spent one Night in a luxury tent that looks like a 5 stars hotel, the staff was so kind and efficient, the food was excellent and the night hearing the sounds of the Savannah was thrilling.I would do it again but i would spend two nights.
I wish everyone experienced this at least once in their life.

A Deep Dive into Rwanda
I initially came in skeptical of Golden Rwanda Safaris' all 5 star reviews - after all, it is very rare for anything to have all 5 star reviews these days. However, I can say that Golden Rwanda Safaris has met, if not exceeded, my expectations. Through a custom tour package (I selected their Chimpanzee and Golden Monkeys tour and tacked on a gorilla trek), I was able to see Rwanda's unique wildlife. I felt blessed when I saw a chimp family eating their day away in a fig tree, and I nearly broke down in tears as I witnessed gorillas in Volcanos National Park, and how they were just like us.
But perhaps the best part of the experience was making friends with my safari driver, Sufiani, with whom we talked about many things, from science and technology, to the cultures and histories of both Rwanda and the United States. It is one of those moments where you - both of us really - truly get to know how people live and think on opposite sides of the world.
I did notice some flaws however that relate to the hotels: for example, the Top View Hotel room wifi did not work properly, and the Five Volcanos Boutique Hotel had trouble with hot water. I don't hold them against Golden Rwanda Safaris since they are outside the scope of the tour company. Besides, they are still obscenely luxurious places to stay compared to my budget safari experience in Kenya the previous week where we slept in tents (let alone compared to how the locals live).
In addition, given recent events it is prudent to be mindful of the security situation in Rwanda. Sufiani had to rebook my hotel in Gisenyi due to the M23 rebel takeover of Goma the day before, and the Rwanda-DRC border remains dangerous at the time of this writing. While Rwanda remains relatively safe, and Golden Rwanda Safaris will do everything in their power to ensure your safety (e.g. the rebooking), it is a reminder that this remains a volatile part of the world.

The very best of the best!
Everything from first contact to the moment we landed home in the US was absolutely top notch. Frank worked tirelessly with me to customize our itinerary and to ensure that it included all the things we were hoping for and he 100% delivered. Despite the time difference between Rwanda and the US, he was always incredibly responsive to e-mails. This was no different when we were in Rwanda as he was only a What's App call away at any moment. While we were in Rwanda, he stayed in contact with our guide to make sure that we were happy and taken care of.
Mico was our guide and he is absolutely fantastic! At the end of the trip, I told him that my biggest compliment to him was that I felt like he was a long time friend who was showing us around his country, not at all like he was someone doing a job. He taught us a lot about the country, ensured that we got to every place we were supposed to be each day, offered suggestions for things we could do that we had not originally included on our itinerary, and was quick in action when challenges presented themselves. We would 100% love to return and have him as our guide again.
Murakoze cyane to Frank and Mico for the trip of a lifetime. We hope to return one day!

A perfect trip
I am blown away by Golden Rwanda Safaris. From the moment I first contacted them the service and professionalism were amazing. I initially was going to do Rwanda only, then decided I wanted to include Kenya. Frank created a perfect custom itinerary for what I wanted. Throughout the process, Frank always responded quickly and answered any questions. All of the accommodations in Rwanda and Kenya were excellent. Throughout the trip things were adjusted and customized to exactly what I wanted. Tafeque, my guide in Rwanda, was fantastic. In Kenya, I was with a partner company, African Hartebeest, and the service was just as good. Beverly was my point of contact with them. She was just as helpful and responsive as Frank. My guide in Kenya, Edwin, was also phenomenal. I will surely be back at some point in the coming years and have already recommended to friends and families to use Golden Rwanda.

Very fast, accurate and reliable tour operator.
Golden Safaris was very reactive when answering our requests, understood them precisely and knew what was to be done. They were also proactively on the look-out for better deals for us, which was much appreciated, and helped us save a lot of money.

Amazing Expereince
We planned this only a month out. They were fantastic to work with, Great communication and we customized our trip. We went to DRC and Rwanda and everything was seamless. Great guides, great hotels, great cars. Everything went very smoothly. I am an experienced traveler but I was traveling with someone who was not as confident with travel. This was a perfect set up for the both of us.

Simply amazing
Engaging, professional and went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs. The day was just amazing from beginning to end and couldn’t have asked for a better tour operator especially Rando fantastic tour guide and a true representative of the Rwandan spirit.
Wonderful from start to finish
We did a combo of gorillas in Congo, and then chimps and safari in Rwanda. Every aspect of the travel was planned well and everything was very easy to manage. Our guide was wonderful and knew a tremendous amount about both the wildlife, and the country itself. His knowledge and friendliness made this a great trip.

An Unforgettable Journey Through Rwanda
I had an incredible experience with Golden Rwanda Safaris and highly recommend them to anyone traveling to Rwanda. When I started the process of selecting a tour operator, I reached out to about ten different companies with the same itinerary. Golden Rwanda Safaris stood out immediately for their competitive pricing and quick, clear communication. They made everything easy and seamless.
After booking, they provided copies of all my permits within days, and I was able to independently confirm their validity with the Rwanda Development Board - something I was worried about for such an expensive trip. My guide for the week, Dady, reached out to me about 24 hours before my arrival and assured me he'd be waiting for me at the airport for my 4 AM flight. True to his word, he was there, ready to be my guide, driver, and new best friend for the week.
I was traveling solo and admittedly nervous since it was my first trip to Africa, but Dady immediately put me at ease. Not only did I learn that Rwanda is the safest country in Africa (I honestly felt safer there than in New York City), but Dady’s guidance and care made the trip even more special. We had a Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 (so glad I had someone else driving, some of the roads definitely require expertise), and he tailored every part of the itinerary to my preferences and pace.
For example, I’m the kind of person who speeds through museums, and Dady helped me focus on the highlights at the Genocide Museum, which was incredibly moving and insightful. He also set realistic expectations for activities—like assuring me I’d only need about an hour of mountain biking in "The Land of a Thousand Hills." He was absolutely right, and I ended up calling him to pick me up early in the jeep, haha.
The rest of the itinerary was perfectly planned. The six-hour hike to Dian Fossey’s tomb was a standout—breathtaking views and definitely worth hiring a porter to help navigate the terrain. Kayaking through rice and tea fields was another highlight, with local farmers waving as I passed. And, of course, the gorilla trekking was insanely out of this world. Dady made sure I got a medium-level trek (exactly what I wanted), and his connections clearly paid off—I had a fantastic experience with an amazing gorilla family.
Dady always felt like my advocate, whether he was helping me understand fair prices with vendors or ensuring I had the best possible experience on excursions. His relationships with local guides and officials were evident and made everything run smoothly.
Only two minor critiques: after I paid, the company wasn’t quite as responsive as they were during the booking process—sometimes taking up to a week to respond to emails (so make sure you ask all your questions before you book and have a good idea of any activities you might be interested in). And there was a slight miscommunication about whether mountain biking was included in my package, but it was an honest mistake that was resolved within minutes, so it wasn’t a big deal and didn't distract from the experience
Overall, Golden Rwanda Safaris delivered a magical and unforgettable experience. Rwanda itself took my breath away—the rolling hills, lush landscapes, and warm hospitality are unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I’ve told all my friends that after three weeks in Africa, Rwanda was my absolute favorite. If you’re considering a trip, definitely check out Frank and Golden Rwanda Safaris—.
