Responsive, Reliable, and Friendly
I booked a private safari (4 days, 3 nights) for a group of nine people with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions. The Managing Director, Paul, was very clear and responsive when it came to the quotation and booking. This really put us at ease. When we landed in Arusha to begin our safari, we were greeted with smiles by Paul and the two Driver/Guides, Edwin and Justin. The next four days were amazing, and exceeded our expectations. The guides, who spoke fluent English, handled the roads well in well-maintained vehicles, were knowledgeable about what we were seeing, and were open to our questions and requests. The accommodation was fantastic, including the food, and did their best with some dietary restrictions. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with or recommend Tanzania Roadside Expeditions.

Amazing safari and excellent service!
We highly recommend Tanzania roadside expeditions. They were very knowledgeable about literally every animal/question we asked. They fulfilled all of our requests ie - filling the cooler full of wine - because how can you not drink Serengeti Wine when your on the Serengeti!? The accommodations were top notch. Great lodges with good locations. James was our guide - we cannot say enough good things about his hard work and service. He was very accommodating, friendly, and very sincere. Also - we got to see the Great migration, an absolutely incredible experience with 1000s of wildebeests and zebras crossing the river. We even got a cool shot of the croc chomping the wildebeest.

Truly Awe-inspiring experience
It was easy to book the tour. There was a little confusion over the exchange rate but it was only the difference of a few pounds.
The lodges that came with the package were outstanding and luxurious.
The tour itself was absolutely brilliant. We had Ezekiel as our tour guide. He was really friendly and extremely knowledgeable. By the end of the tour we felt like we had known him for ages.
We went on the 3 day tour to Lake Manyara, Ngorogoro Crater and Tarangire. We were extremely lucky and we saw 4 out of the big 5: Lion, Buffalo, Rhino, elephants. Ezekial had exceptional vision and spotted the rhino from a massive distance. We also saw a lion hunt. It really was an amazing, once in a lifetime time experience.

Amazing safari!!!
Paul at Roadside Expeditions was really helpful and flexible when we were planing our trip and was really quick to respond to requests/questions.
Our driver James was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals, birds and local history. We had a wonderful 5 day safari in Manyara, Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorngoro - would definitely recommend the company to anybody!

Amazing Experience with Great Company!!
We just got back from a 6-night safari with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions and the only thing we can say is GO NOW! The parks are unprecedently empty due to the pandemic, so if you have ever dreamt of going on a Safari, the time is NOW. We interacted with Paul, Justin and Ezekiel (who ended up being our guide), each of which was highly professional, very helpful and super knowledgeable. Paul was our main point of contact prior to the trip. He always responded in a very timely manner and was never pushy about anything. Paul even showed up to the hotel in Arusha to go over the itinerary with us and Ezekiel, making sure everything was smooth. From the time we were picked up at Kilimanjaro Airport to the time we were dropped off, we felt safe and knew we were in good hands. Justin and Ezekiel took the time to show us around Arusha upon our arrival, even bringing us to a local spot for dinner. Ezekiel was our guide for the rest of the trip and we could not offer him higher praise. He spoke excellent English and was eager to provide the best service to make sure we had an incredible experience. He was amazing and very friendly
All the accommodations that Tanzania Roadside Expeditions put us up in were amazing and unique in their own way. The hotels in Arusha and Ngorongoro were equivalent to a 5-star hotel in the States. The places we stayed in the Serengeti and outside of Tarangire were more of a glamping style hotel and had the most breathtaking views! The dinners included in the trip were also top notch, it felt like we had a romantic 5-star dinner every night.
Tanzania is open to tourism now, with no restrictions as their President has declared they are COVID free. Take advantage of the low number of tourists while you can and go now. We saw a ton of animals (even lion cubs!) up very close, since the parks were near empty. We had a once in a lifetime experience and the only complaint we have is we aren’t still there.

Amazing!! Highly recomendable!
Our safari with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions was amazing! From the start until the end, everything went very smooth. It was easy to book and the safari was great (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro). The accommodations were all really nice with good food. Our guide Justin was also amazing. He was super friendly, great at spotting animals & always drove really carefully. We would definitely recommend him and Tanzania Roadside Expeditions. We went during Covid-19 and we did not regret it for a second. Tanzania is an amazing country with extremely friendly people who depend a lot on tourism. We always felt safe and really enjoyed our trip! :)

Camping safari: what a beautiful adventure!
My mother and I went on a four day (three nights) camping safari, tailored by Paul after our wishes. It was an unforgettable experience - thanks to our guide Justin. A camping safari is a beautiful adventure! We loved the feeling of being close to nature and the simplicity of bathing in cold water and sleeping in tents. Justin, our guide, was very professional and proved to have a lot of experience and a wonderful sense of humour. He spotted rhinos (among other animals), and we especially enjoyed how Justin took time to stop, so we had time to observe the life of the wild animals: a blessing. Apart from the game drive, it is nice to see the close collaboration and mutual respect between guides from different safari companies. Overall, we can gladly recommend a camping safari with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions to anyone who longs for a safari adventure. In addition to this, we felt it to be a true luxury that a private cook accompanied us, Eliot, who cooked us delicious food and took notice of our food requests. Thank you, Justin and Eliot, for unforgettable days in Serengeti and Ngorongoro!

An amazing and unforgettable experience
It was our first Safari and also our first trip to Africa. The booking process was easy, Paul answered our questions promptly and we never felt like we were being pushed or "sold" anything. All interactions were very friendly and professional. The fluent level of english of everyone involved really made communication very easy.
We were quite impressed with the organization of the whole tour. Everything was carefully planned along with options and fallbacks. Every lodge had WiFi, porters, great breakfast choices and an easy check-in process. The car had 4WD, radio, shovel (which wasn't needed) and the driver really knew his way around the car. There were also device chargers, binoculars, a bluetooth speaker and a fridge available.
We were extremely happy with our driver guide — James — as he made us feel safe, comfortable and informed throughout the whole time showing deep knowledge of Tanzania, wildlife and and driving skills. This man had 15 years of experience and sharp vision that could spot wildlife that we wouldn't otherwise notice. He also went out of his way several times to give us access to animals and wildlife situations we would otherwise miss. We witnessed a live predator chase around our car, had a family of cheetas feasting just outside under our window, resting baby lions almost within touch distance and we were right in the middle of a family of elephants crossing the road. We left feeling very grateful for James.
After the end of the Safari we travelled to Zanzibar to have the most relaxing time ever.
We are very happy to have made this trip and would definitely LOVE to do it again!
Our Tour Guide Went Above and Beyond to Give Us a Fantastic Tour
In preparation for our tour, we received excellent communication with Paul, who answered all of our extensive questions concerning the tour and what to expect and how to prepare. He usually answered in a timely fashion. We only had to pay 20% of the cost ahead of time and the rest upon arrival. Their credit card processor was down for a while but it was fixed and was able to accept our payment in a timely fashion. The tour itself was over-the-top. Harry, our tour guide, was amazing in accommodating our every need and knowing where to go to have the best chances of seeing the animals. The numbers and variety that we saw were amazing. It was very evident that Harry wanted to give us the best tour possible rather than just doing his job and getting us to our accommodations for the night as soon as possible. We were very pleased with the accommodations chosen for our luxury tour. The tented lodge gave the experience of really being out in the bush while being secure and well-cared for, if you didn't mind having a very modern shower that was open to the air above. The food in all places was very good with a lot of variety and choices. My companion's dietary restrictions were treated with outstanding accommodation wherever we went. We appreciated the many places to pick up souvenirs along the way. Mosquitoes or other insects were not a problem.
