Unforgettable experience!
5/5

As a family of 6 (children 17, 16, 13 and 10) we did a 3 day safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro. It was far beyond our expectations. We were accomplished by a great guide who had an eye for detail and gave us much information about environment and animals. And an excellent cook who managed to surprise us with every meal. We are looking back at a great time and can recommend this great company to everybody!

professionalism, flexibility and kindness
5/5

I recommend Shemeji safari & tours for their professionalism, flexibility and kindness. Emma gave me all the information I needed several weeks in advance (emails, skype discussion) and she accepted to form a group, which is very convenient if you travel solo. The guide Ely and the cook Godson are very friendly. A 4 day safari is a good option.

Safari - Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro
5/5

Off we went on safari! For me the first time. And it was so cool!

At 06.00 we were ready! There was Elly, our driver. We then picked up the other girls and we were on our way to Tarangire. During our first safari day we have seen many animals, such as impalas, baboons, zebras, wildebeest, elephants, giraffes, ostriches and from afar even a leopard. Every time we saw an animal, we jumped up from our jeep. We only had to say 'stop' and we stopped. The roof was open, so we could see everything. And thus could make beautiful pictures. At the end of the day we saw two female lions. They kept unfortunately well hidden. With a satisfied feeling we went to the campsite. Here we could freshen up and we got dinner from our cook Patrick.

The second day we were in good spirits on the way to the Serengeti. We still wanted see a few animals: lions, leopards, hippos, rhinos, buffaloes, hyenas and cheetahs. Before we arrived at the Serengeti, we first had the Ngorongoro. What is a different landscape. Very nice to see. That bodes well for the last day. Finally arrived at the Serengeti. In the distance we saw a herd of elephants, which eventually crossed our path. Wow.
We had seen many new animals, namely gazelles, purple lizards, buffaloes, hyenas, hippos, a crocodile and finally a lion and a leopard closer.
Late in the afternoon we went to the campsite, which lay in the middle of the Serengeti. Here our tents were ready. This was very different from the camp. Snug in the tent. Our cook had again prepared a delicious meal, and then we went to sleep quickly. Our alarm clock the next day was already at 5 am. At night we had a visit from a Buffalo, who stood next to our tent. You don't see that often.
It was very special to see the sunrise the next morning in the Serengeti. Even today we have seen many new animals: cranes, secretary birds, pumba's (boars) and Dik-dik (small deer). As icing on the cake of that last morning in the Serengeti, we even found two cheetahs! These animals are very rare to see, and now there were two. What an extraordinary animals!

At the end of the morning we had a little lunch and breakfast at the camp and we drove back to Ngorongoro. This was quite a bit, so when we arrived at the campsite, we stayed there. Also this campsite again was very nice. It was a piece of green grass with large trees on a mountain overlooking the crater below. When we arrived we had visitors right away; zebras on the campsite! That was very nice. We all had to get used to the temperature in Ngorongoro. Here it was many times colder than in Tarangire and Serengeti. We showered (freezing!) and the rest of the day ate with four layers of clothes and a blanket around us. What a cold! Luckily we had a thick sleeping bag during the night.

Our last day of the safari. We only had a male lion and a rhinoceros standing on our list. And yes, have also seen these animals. From the distance, a rhino (one of the 15 remaining black rhinos in Ngorongoro). Yes the big five is spotted! A little further there lay 3 male and three female lions. In the middle of this group lay in a ditch a dead buffalo! They had clearly only just found it and only ate half of it. Now they lay dozing all six, tired of hunting. From a distance hyenas were leering to the carcass and also a group of jackals were just walking around that group of lions. What a special sight, this is real nature.

It was a fantastic experience! Thanks Elly, Patrick and Shemeji Safaris & Tours. It was great!

Emma provided us with an excellent guide and a good cook. We traveled with two teenagers who were just impressed by this great tour. We highly recommend this safari company who is runned with an ethical perspective and contributes to the promotion of women in the Masai communities.

Extraordinary and wonderful safari ! Real incursion in african wildlife !
5/5

Excellent service : warm contact, nice and interesting guide, good cook (I had no problem with my gluten free diet).
We were lucky to be able to see the big five and a lot more of animals and birds in the three parks : Lake Manyara, Serengetti and Ngogoro crater.
And very helpful for questions or the rest of the hollidays in Arusha and Tanzania !
I highly recommend Shemeji Safari !
Thank you for everything !

3 days in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro
5/5

Sunset glowing red over a vast horizon-less Serengeti. Three male elephants walking across a volcanic crater. A leopard eating an impala in a tree. 3 eventful and fascinating days on safari in the stunning Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

Wildlife: lions, elephants, hippos, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, gazelle, mongooses, ostriches, monkeys, baboons, eagles and a far away rhino. And that’s just mentioning the famous ones….

Staff/Service: The guide was from nearby Kilimanjaro and was very knowledgeable regarding the wildlife and the geography of the Serengeti. An anecdote or two over dinner would have added something but he worked hard to deliver a memorable experience. Our cook produced tasty meals from limited resources.

Vehicle: A customised Toyota Landcruiser fitted with a pop-up roof was comfortable and ideal for viewing wildlife.

Camping: Not exactly luxury, but I would prefer to sleep in a tent in the Serengeti than stay in 5-star hotel!

I had a fantastic experience and highly recommend Shemaji Safari & Tours to any adventurous visitors in beautiful northern Tanzania.

Safari Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro
5/5

Last week I went on a safari with Shemeji Safari & Tours. In 4 days we visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. In my opinion the perfect amount of days to visit these parcs. We started at Tarangire. It is a 2 hour drive from Arusha. The whole first day we went on game drive in Tarangire. We saw a lot of animals like elephants, zebras and baboons. Our guide knew a lot about the animals. So we learned a lot from him and we were free to ask every question we liked. That night we slept in luxury tents with beds outside Tarangire. A good campsite with hot showers. The next morning we drove to Serengeti. It is a long drive but we saw a lot on the way to Serengeti because you have to pass by Ngorongoro to get there. It is a beautiful drive. That night and the next morning we did game drives in Serengeti. We saw a lot of special animals like lions and cheetahs. The campsite in Serengeti is simple but it is very cool to sleep in the centre of the Serengeti. Everyday the cook made food for us. Every meal was delicious and enough for everyone. On the last day we visited Ngorongoro. It is very cold in this parc so you need a lot of warm clothes but it is worth it. Also this campsite was simple but on a beautiful hill, very cosy and with zebras next to our tents! In short we had an amazing safari with Shemeji Safari & Tours. The driver and cook were very friendly and showed us a beautiful piece of Africa in four days!

Wonderful experience!!!!
5/5

I joined a four day safari with Shemeij. The safari was really a life time experience. The first three days we went to Serengeti National Park and the fourth day we visited the Ngorongoro crater. It was very beautiful. We had a very good guide called Elemes. He speaks very good English and took a lot of effort showing us as much as possible. We also went very deep into the park, to parts where very little tourist came. I have seen far more wildlife than I had expected. It was very impressive. I can recommend a safari with Shemeji very much.
I will always remember this fantastic experience!!!

A magical safari experience!
5/5

Since I stayed in Arusha as a volunteer, I decided to go on a safari as well. I did the 4-day-safari and visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I'm so happy that I decided to do this safari with Shemeji Safari & Tours because it was totally worth the money and an absolutely amazing experience! The guide knew a lot of things and has been able to show us the Big Five and also a lot of other amazing animals (for example cheetahs!). The food was delicious and the time schedule was perfect since we have been able to see sunset and sunrise at Serengeti and that was such a magical experience! I loved these four days and I would totally recommend this safari by Shemeji Safari & Tours!
