Lifetime Trip Kenya & Tanzania
5/5

Words cannot describe the level of service provided by Tanzania Exclusive Journeys.I just returned from my trip to Kenya&Tanzania, and it was truly a trip of a lifetime.

Every single detail was executed with perfection. The pre-trip documentation was superb, the guides/drivers in each location were so knowledgable and professional, and our accommodations as well as the service provided at the accommodations was beyond First Class. Most of all, our guide was remarkable! Tony was with us from start to finish, and he made our whole journey even more perfect than we could have ever imagined. He was so attentive, professional, knowledgeable, sweet, caring, thoughtful, patient, accommodating, smart, funny, and MORE!! Anyone traveling to Kenya or Tanzania should request that Tony be their guide. You will not regret it!

Thank you for an incredible vacation. It was utter perfection from the moment we booked the trip to the moment we arrived back home.

Trustworthy and Safe..Incredible Experience on Mount Kilimanjaro
5/5

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Tanzania Exclusive Journeys and am so glad we chose them! All the staff we encountered, everyone from the desk and wait staff at the Keys Hotel to our guides and porters on the mountain, were amazing. Everyone we encountered seemed to have a good and always willing to help attitude. My husband and I must give the most thanks to our lead guide, Mtui. He and David literally pushed and pulled me the last couple hours up the mountain, and provided so much support and encouragement on summit night. I was about to quit about four hours into the summit attempt, and Mtui assured me I could make it to the top and we did make it to Stella Point. I think I would have so many regrets if I had actually quit so I have Mtui to thank for this. Remsi has been very helpful also. I left a jacket at the hotel, and she actually found it and made sure it was mailed back to me. I received it in the mail today. We only had time for a 2 day safari at Manyara and Ngorongoro. I think our favorite night was at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. What a beautiful property! We also had a lot of fun on the free city tour of Moshi. Rashid led us on the tour walking up and down main and side streets, and I am so thankful for this because I know we got to see parts of town that we may not have seen without a guide.
Thanks again to all the staff at Tanzania Exclusive Journeys for making this a trip of a lifetime for my husband and me. This is definitely the best trip we have ever taken! Merry Christmas to you all.

Bucket list item checked off!
5/5

My adventure was awesome and it is something I’ll alway remember fondly. Our great driver guide Ian brought us as close as possible to the amazing wildlife and made our trip extremely rememberable. We were able to see amazing animals and saw everything we wanted up close except for the rhino but Ian easily made up for it by bringing us to the most thrilling and exciting moment of my life a real life kill by a cheetah. The people at Tanzania Exclusive Journeys were able to help us change our plans on the fly especially when the migration hadn’t reached the northern part of the Serengeti so they easily changed our plans so we could experience the most of our adventure. I would recommend going with Tanzania Exclusive Journeys on any Tanzanian adventure and if you have a chance Ian is the best driver guide for you.

Truly fantastic tour company!
5/5

My 70-year old father and I recently returned from the trip of a lifetime, summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro together with Tanzania Exclusive Journeys! They were an absolutely fantastic company, and every detail of our trip was well organized, from the two-day safari we did with their guide Mrope to the 8-day Lemosho route trek with head guide Zakayo. All the staff, from the guides, cook, porters and others were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient and organized. Everyone worked so hard and as a team to make our trip run smoothly. The meals were fantastic, the tent sites were carefully selected, and the guides were very good at keeping our group on just the right pace to acclimate to the altitude. I highly recommend Tanzania Exclusive Journeys to anyone!

Exceed my expectations
5/5

My husband and I did a 8 day Private Safari in Serengeti and Nogorogoro with Tanzania Exclusive Journeys. The company is owned by a local Masai who has excellent connections with the areas we wanted to visit. Jane, the tour director, listened to what we hoped to experience and then designed a wonderful package for us. Our guide, Peter, made our 8 days very enjoyable. He worked hard to make sure we saw the wildlife we hoped to see. He is very knowledgeable about the area and has incredible skill at spotting animals we never would have even noticed. We had many questions about the areas we travelled through and the things we saw. Peter answered all of them and we learned so much. We spent 3 nights at the Osupuko Tented Camp in the Serengeti which was fantastic. The camp has minimal impact on the environment while still being very comfortable. The last 4 nights we stayed at Nogorogoro Farm House and the comforts were much appreciated after the long dusty drive from the Serengeti. One more thing about Peter. He is an avid birder so if your passion is birdwatching then ask for Peter.

We wanted to try all type of accommodation during our stay: lodges, tented camps and camping tent and every place was good, and worth to recommend. At the camping we had also a chef - John, who prepared us very tasty meals (big portions!).
In Ngorongoro and Serengeti we saw a lot of animals (especially lions) but the most impressive was visiting 2 tribes at lake Eyasi - Hadzabes and Datoga. Our local Eyasi guide, Musa, gave us a lot of information about these tribes, their culture, way of life, etc.
Just before the fly home, we try a small climbing to Kilimanjaro.
What was also very nice - the care of from Tony who was our contact during the preparations to safari. He greeted us at the Arusha airport, then called few times during safari to be sure if everything is ok.
So I can strongly recommend to you services of Tony and Tanzania Exclusive Journeys, and worth to recommend. At the camping we had also a chef - John, who prepared us very tasty meals (big portions!).

SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY!
5/5

We had a terrific guide named Ian for a five day safari of Taragire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. We became close friends and he knew where all the game was. We spotted elephants and male lions every day, along with the all the big game including a rhino charging a water buffalo, a cheetah with her cub, hippos, and 25 hyenas, some with blood on their necks from a fresh kill. Every day was a new adventure including hanging out with all of the guides, once everyone else was asleep in their tents, drinking with them and telling stories. It was a trip full of memories.

In Zanzibar, we stayed at Sea Cliff Resort on the northwest side of the island. Again, all the transfers went smooth and everything was taken care of. This resort was a slice of heaven for sure. The bars/restaurants were great, the two infinity pools, the pier to watch sunsets, the spa, the food, the service. We also booked a few excursions with the hotel - to Prison Island and a tour of Stone Town. Also on the actual evening of my birthday we paid the guy who originally picked us up at the airport about $80 to take me all the way out to the northeast side of the island so that we could have dinner at the Rock Restaurant (if you've never heard of it, Google it, trust me). The drive is about 90 minutes and he sat there for 2 hours and waited in the van while we enjoyed the scenery and dinner. That was $80 well spent.

In conclusion, I can honestly say that this was probably my favorite trip yet. That is saying a lot because I've taken amazing trips to Cambodia, Iceland, Brazil, Peru, French Polynesia, New Zealand, etc. etc. I've been all over...and this was one of a kind.

Superb Guides and Porters!!
5/5

Wow! I can't say enough about the professional, friendly, and helpful guides and porters at Tanzania Exclusive Journeys! Our private group of 9 climbers took the Rongai route with 4 guides and 35 porters. We trekked 5 days up and 2 down. The whole experience with them gave us confidence and so much joy! 6 of the group made it to Uhuru Peak and the other 3 came down after Gilman's Peak due to altitude sickness. But the guides were amazing at keeping everyone healthy and pumped up to succeed! The chef-prepared meals on the mountain were plentiful and delicious! And they easily accommodated one climber's gluten-free, vegan diet. They even baked a birthday cake and all sang happy birthday to one of the climbers. The porters were fantastic quickly getting camp set up everyday with our gear. I am so thankful for their knowledge, professionalism, and kindness, and I will never forget the week we shared together!

Excellent staff, unbelievable porters and help all the way!
5/5

I had no idea what to expect when I signed up for this adventure. I have no hesitation in stating that my experience was extremely positive. I always felt like I was in good hands. The guides were highly motivational. On summit day, there were times when I thought I couldn't carry on - I know that the guides' positive attitude and encouraging words kept me going. I couldn't believe the level of orchestration that goes into getting a group to successfully summit. The porters are simply extraordinary. To be able to wake up in the morning, pack up my things and know that I can roll into camp that evening and have everything ready and waiting for me made the whole experience so comfortable. I was elated to be met by my tent person every afternoon. The lead guide, Mrope, was highly skilled at managing our group and he did so with a perfect balance of discipline and humor.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tanzania Exclusive Journeys. The attention to detail was impressive and I felt fully informed from start to finish.
