Kajie Safaris EXCEEDED our expectations
5/5

We booked this trip 3 years ago, just before COVID, and finally realized our dream adventure a few weeks ago. Ronald was always available to answer questions via email or WhatsApp. Simon was our brilliant guide/driver. I cannot say enough or give enough praise to Kajie Safaris for exceeding our expectations. Simon seemed to have an extra set of eyes…one on the road ahead and one scanning for animals and birds. His knowledge of nature is vast. His love and pride of beautiful Uganda is quite evident. We fell in love with Uganda too. We got to meet Ronald as he was with some clients whose tour intersected ours a couple of times. Ronald and Simon took care of so may little details and never hesitated to assist. We HIGHLY recommend Kajie Safaris

5 day tour in Uganda: Kampala, Bwindi and Jinja
5/5

Though the most normal would be for me to say that the best part of the trip was the actual encounter with the Gorillas at Bwindi I must admit that it was all the trip with Ronald. His friendly and humble behavior during the whole tour made me and my father enjoy our holiday to the limit. I normally do not write reviews online for anything but in this case and considering he was possibly the best tour guide I’ve ever encountered I am indebted to him. We covered tons of topics during our car rides, shared my music from Spain with his music from Uganda (Eddy Kenzo!) and eventually extended our tour around the country with him. Its a must to visit Uganda and hence to reach out to Ronald to enjoy it to the fullest.

Absolutely the best choice, excellent value for money, will come back! 10 stars at least!!
5/5

Our 10 day trip with Ronald was the experience of a life time. From the start, Ronald and his team took extremely good care of us, patiently answering all of our questions and adjusting our itinerary multiple times. Looking back, I actually wished I had more relied on their judgement instead of coming up with my own itinerary because they are so familiar with all the destinations and know very well how much time you need at a given place. So in case of doubt, trust that they will find the ideal solution!

Once we were in Uganda, we really had the time of our lives. I had been a bit sceptical about spending so much time with a stranger, but boy, was I wrong. Ronald took us around himself and his company was actually what made this trip so special. Besides being extremely organized and attentive to all our needs, he is just a very kind and fun person to hang around with and I'm not exaggerating when I say that our hearts felt very heavy on the day we had to say goodbye (and that we were overjoyed when we happened to meet on the road to Murchinson Falls some days later). Friend, we can't wait to see you again, be it in Uganda or Europe!!

While my tears are drying, back to more practical things: the lodges that Ronald picked were amazing. We loved every single one for their stunning vistas, carefully decorated interiors and lovely staff. We opted for budget (although "budget" does not mean cheap in Uganda), so naturally, these are not 5 star hotels. But the surroundings made more than up for this and we actually felt like on a luxury trip most of the time. Needless to say that everything was extremely clean (much more so than e.g. in Asian countries at this price level). Notably, we talked to other people traveling with other tour operators and they weren't as happy with their accommodation, so this is certainly another aspect where Kajie Safaris excels!

We also really enjoyed the food. Most of our meals were provided by the lodges, but Ronald also took us to different restaurants on the road, all of which were equally delicious. From our experience, it is better to opt for vegetarian dishes, since this is what most locals eat by default, so you get more authentic food this way ;). We also really appreciated that Ronald would rather find a nice local restaurant on the way than going the easy way and getting a sandwich from the lodge. Our tour, unlike many others, included all food and this can actually quickly add up since lodges charge nearly European prices. So one more reason to choose Ronald and his team.

In terms of activities, our schedule was perfect. We saw and did so many things, but still had enough time to unwind and relax. Ronald suggested extra activities, but left the decision to us. He also broke up long rides by showing us interesting scenery and making sure we got to stretch our legs from time to time. Besides, time in the car passed so quickly because Ronald would explain a lot of things about Uganda to us and we had so many interesting discussions on the road.

The game drives were out of this world - Ronald is exceptionally good at spotting animals and birds (he saw lions moving their tail when I didn't even see their heads with my binoculars) and never tires to point them out to you, literally going the extra mile to make sure you get to see as much as possible of Ugandas awesome fauna. When we were on our own in Murchinson Falls NP, we took a ranger, so we have a good comparison, and I can honestly say that Ronald was just as knowledgeable and more keen on making our experience special.

Ronald is also a very good and careful driver and knows his car like no other. Ugandan traffic and roads can be challenging at times, but we felt very safe. On the topic of driving: we had considered to self-drive the entire trip, but ended up doing only Murchison Falls on our own. We were actually very glad about not doing the whole trip ourselves. While driving in Uganda is definitely doable (at least during the day), it would have been a lot more exhausting. And frankly speaking, it is hard to enjoy a game drive when you have to pay attention to the more than bumpy roads in national parks.

Considering all of the above, a package from Kajie Safaris is really extremely good value because it literally includes everything (for example entrance fees to NP, which also add up quickly). We met other people who certainly paid more and were not nearly as happy as we were. If you're considering a trip to Uganda, look no further!! And if you haven't yet, you should certainly put it on your bucket list because the country has so much to offer and no one does Uganda better than Ronald. Webale!!!

The Pearl of Africa together with the best tour guide ever!
5/5

One of the most beautiful vacations that we've ever had!
We booked a 10-day tour including gamedrives and boatrides at Murchinson Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo NP as well as chimpazee and gorilla trekking in Kibale and Bwindi forest and added also a boat ride at lake Bunyoni and a river rafting tour in Jinja.
Ronald is just the perfect guide - he has a broad knowledge about nature and wildlife, a lot of experience with international tourists and is such a lovely person to have around! He helped us to find all of the animals that we wished to see (even leopards and tree-climbing lions) and organised everything that we needed including a last-minute covid test. It was very hard to say goodbye in the end...
Uganda itself is indeed the Pearl of Africa and if we had had more time, we would have loved to stay for at least three or four weeks. So we'll definetely be back to go hiking in the Rwenzori Mountains and also see the Northern and Eastern part of the country.
Don't hesistate to book your tour with Kajie Safaris!

Best Trip EVER!!!
5/5

First a huge THANK YOU to Ronald and Kajie Safaris for making my dreams of Gorilla trekking in Rwanda and Uganda come to life! If I could rate them higher than a 5 star I would!
From the very start of planning this trip Ronald's willingness to help make our goals happen and enthusiasm was apparent. My Friend and I are both Photographers and we can be very specific in what we what to see, when and for how long. Ronald was able to customize our trip to a perfect balance of gorilla treks (four) ,chimpanzee trekking, community nature walks and safaris to accommodate everything we had hoped for. Even our last minute (about three weeks prior) addition of an extra gorilla trek day. Ronald even recommended we explore trekking at another park we had not even heard of which turned out to be our absolute favorite! Throughout the trip Ronald did everything possible to be sure we were happy with our safaris, lodging and transportation. He took care of it all for us and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend traveling with Kajie and Ronald to any photographer looking to experience Rwanda and Uganda.
Thank you for the trip of a lifetime, fabulous memories and I can't wait to start planning another adventure with Ronald and Kajie Safaris for 2022!!

7-Day Gorilla, Chimpanzee and Wildlife Tour in Uganda
5/5

This was the first leg of a honeymoon trip to Africa and couldn't have been a better introduction! From the very start Ronald was an excellent tour organiser and helped us to customise the itinerary to suit our budget.

When we arrived we were delighted to have Ronald as our guide for the week, his passion for his country was infectious and his local knowledge really enhanced the trip. The journey was relaxed and we had plenty of options to take part in local tours.

The scenery in Uganda is incredible and the variety of wildlife was more than we expected. We took in safari in QENP, chipanzees in Kirala and Gorillas in Bwindi - all highly recommended!

All in all this trip was great value for money and exceeded expectations! Thank you Ronald!

7 amazing days of seeing gorillas, chimpanzees, lions hunting, and the amazing landscape of Rwanda/U
5/5

I did a 7 day tour with Ronald to see the gorillas at Volcanoes and Bwindi, game drive and lions hunting in Kazinga National Park (Queen Elizabeth), and Kibale for the chimpanzees and night walk to see the bush babies (I saw 13! Thomas and Demidoff's galagos). All of it was amazing to see and enhanced by a flawless and super fun guided tour by Ronald. Ronald makes sure to answer questions prior to your trip in a timely manner and makes you feel secure about your travel plans. I met a number of travelers that had terrible guide experiences, so be sure to get a reputable guide especially when spending so much on Gorilla permits! Throughout the trip, Ronald and intern Bella were so much fun and full of information on all things Uganda/Rwanda and the areas where we traveled. As a solo traveler, I always appreciate guides that make you feel like a fast friend - we laughed and conversed on so many interesting topics. All of the hotels, especially at Bwindi and Kazinga, were amazing with great food and staff. I am already looking forward to another trip with Kajie and will be highly recommending them to any friends looking to travel in Uganda!

Well-organized & service-minded
5/5

Communication was always prompt and clear, a very service oriented approach that was only confirmed during the visit when everything just worked as planned and promised. Super smooth experience & can only recommend!!

All places visited were great and I did get to see quite a number of wild animals namely elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions and even a cheetah!

My main goal to visit the mountain gorillas was one of the many highlights though and I did a gorilla trekking as well as a habituation tour - and it was an indescribable, wonderful experience!! However, pls be warned that the hike can be very strenuous and will require at least a good level of fitness. I ended up with over 12hrs of hiking and observing the gorillas but it was so worth the effort! ♡

Uganda will surprise you with an ever changing landscape and colors of lush green that you did not even know existed! So worth a visit!

Great experiences at Bwindi and Kidepo NP
5/5

Planning our trip to Uganda I have choosen Kajie Safaris for visiting the NP' s, after a disappointing contact to another company.
Ronald was always fast and straight forward in answering all my questions and open to all of our ideas. Really excellent customers service. Suggestions that were made on a really short notice were answered promptly to our full satisfaction.
I booked an one day trip to Bwindi NP for Gorilla trekking with an individual pick up in Kabale and drop off at Kisiizi falls. I have had a great time with Elias. He is a good and safe driver and prepared everythng perfect for me. I enjoyed the time so much. I will never forget that day.
Some days later we did a 3 day trip with Ronald himself to Kidepo NP. Ronald organized a perfect accomodation with a beautiful view over the park and great meals. We have had a magnificent time together. He is as well an excellent driver (on and offroad) as a realy plaesent and well informed guide. It feels like we have found a new friend.
If I need a tour operator for Uganda again I will choose definitely Kajie Safaris.
