Gorillas and Nyiragongo trip
5/5

We went to DRC to see gorillas and hike Mt. Nyiragongo at the beginning of May and chose Ubuntu Voyages based on our friend´s recommendation. Adili was really helpful, caring and flexible when it came to changing plans a litlle bit. Communication was smooth and fast (emails, whatsapp group), he organized everything from visas to accommodation at a great price.
Our guide Roger was a really nice knowledgeable guy with a good sense of humor. He took perfect care of us during our stay in DRC.
We are fully recommending Ubuntu Voyages, you can rely on them and enjoy your trip with no worries.
Hopefully the situation in DRC and Virunga gets better soon so more people can enjoy this amazing region!

Highly Recommended: A tour company that goes above and beyond
5/5

I had a wonderful experience with Ubuntu Voyages and Adili treated me like family and
ensured I had the best possible experience trekking the Nyiragongo Volcano, which was absolutely
stunning. The coordination of the trip and all my questions were answered very quickly and
my driver and vehicle were great. Adili is a really special person that does not treat people like
his clients, but like his family.

Unforgettable experience
5/5

The two of us went on a 4 day trip to the DRC with Ubuntu to see the gorillas and the active Nyiragongo volcano. From the beginning of first contacting Adili, he was very quick with responding and answering all questions we had. They gave by far the best price in comparison to other operators. We chose to be picked up by the border, where we met our guide Paulin and Adili who we had been in contact with from the beginning. Paulin has made our trip; he climbed the volcano with us, showed us around in Goma and even took us to some local shops for souvenirs. He is very knowledgable and taught us so much about the volcano, the history and the DRC in general. This made our experience that much more interesting. All in all I would highly recommend Ubuntu Voyages.

Very well organised and always felt save
5/5

We did the Nyiragongo volcano with Ubunti Voyages and found it to be very well organised. We received all relevant information and requirements from the tour organiser beforehand and the staff we met at the border was very nice, efficient, and organised. The guide did not tell a lot of details about the volcano, but he was always there for us with questions and the porters and cook we had were amazing. We really felt totally cared about. Unfortunately, we had to cut short our trip because of the kidnapping of two tourists nearby, but the tour operator and the park rangers got us out of the park save and well back to the border, where our guides from Ubuntu Voyages was very helpful again. We also received our money back for the part of our trip that we could not do any more due to the incidence (Gorilla trek).

Easy to organise and very friendly staff
4/5

I was very satisfied with my tour overall. The travel agent was friendly and helped me get the best deal possible by letting me join another group. The guide was also very nice and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend!

Only negative point: the hotel was a little bit basic for the price paid (60 USD for one night). Also next time, don't forget to let travellers know that they should bring their yellow fever vaccine card, and that if they go to Congo on an East Africa tourist visa, the visa will be cancelled and a new one will have to be bought upon re-entry. Appart from that everything was great!

Great operator - made everything very hassle free!
5/5

Adili and Ubuntu Voyages couldn't have made the trip to Nyiragongo any easier. The whole booking and invoicing process was straightforward and honest, and the price was very reasonable. When we arrived all vehicles and drivers were on time, the accommodation was as expected, and it was really a stress-free way to do the trip. I had a couple of friends in from out of town who did the gorillas as well, and they had no issues either. Definitely recommend!

Amazing tours combined with excellent service
5/5

I had booked both gorilla trekking and climbing the volcano, and can recommend both of these once in a lifetime experiences. The tours were professionally organized, I received clear and detailed offers and from the beginning Adili, Ubuntu's founder, was available to answer all the questions I had. Crossing the border from Rwanda and on Congo's side all arrangements were done so that I felt that I was being taken care of and in many cases Adili was personally guiding me between the two treks. The tour guide Roger is very knowledgeable and speaks perfect English, which is a great plus as many have stronger French. The both tours exceeded my expectations and are just something that you have to experience yourself as you can't describe the feeling when you have walked in a forest and then suddenly two young gorillas appear but continue their play, or having climbed up the volcano the whole day and then reaching the top to find a sizzling and foggy view straight from the Lord of the Rings movies.

Three days volcano and gorilla adventure!
5/5

Ubuntu Voyages was recommended by two travellers in Kisoro Uganda for their budget friendly all-in packages to the active volcano and the Gorillas of Virunga NP in Congo. But is was much more. I travelled to the border on a rented motorbike and Adilli, the owner, waited for me at the grand barriere border. He arranged my bike to be stalled at his home on the Rwandan site and after crossing the border (don't forget to buy or take the yellow fever document at the border it cost me 70$ about which Adilli informed me in advance!) we went straight to the hotel to check in. Then we went to have some party at the big Amani festival. Afterwards we visited a local restaurant for some goat meat and a beer and checked out a nice bar!

The trips to the volcano and the gorillas where perfectly organised. Picked up at the hotel to shop for the night at the edge of the volcano and then by 4 wheel drive to the park entrances. I mean this is one of the interest densest areas in the world, unbelievable beauty combined with fauna nowhere else found in the world!

In short highly recommended and although the steep costs of the permits, worth every penny and much cheaper then Rwanda and Uganda!
