Professional and Knowlegeable
5/5

Summitting Kilimanjaro with ECO Africa Climbing was a fantastic experience. The guides (Raphael and Vincent) were experienced and knowledgeable. They gave us some options that allowed us to avoid backups at the Barranco Wall and to summit during the day; giving us time at the top with no other climbers around. The members of the support team/porters were great and completely helped with the experience. The whole team not only got us to the summit and back down but did it safely. As a 68 year old climber, the pole, pole pace provided by Vincent helped me make the summit - he assisted me immensely, both going up and coming down. I would definitely use them again. Can’t say enough good things about this team.
The safari was indescribable. So many animals and birds. Steve, our guide and driver, gave us so much information about what we were seeing. He would position us to gets some fantastic views and photos. Each day just got better and better. It was truly an awesome experience with ECO Africa.

Once in a lifetime experience!
5/5

We had a wonderful, once in a lifetime, experience on our safari work Eco-Africa! Our crew treated us like royalty, providing us with great viewing, fabulous accommodations, and delicious food!
From seeing many of the other safari companies around us, I can honestly say that Eco-Africa provides one of the best organized, individualized, and first- class experiences available.
Huge shout-out to our driver, Steve, for getting us "front row seats" to so many amazing animals and allowing us to linger in our admiration to get some great photos that will make this safari live on in our memories for the rest of our lives!
You did indeed become "family" to us! ❤️

Amazing Experience with Eco-Africa Climbing!
5/5

I booked my entire Tanzania vacation with the locally owned company Eco-Africa Climbing, and it was the best decision I could have made. Every part of the trip was extremely well organized and exceeded my expectations.

For my Kilimanjaro climb, I chose the Rongai Route. My guide, John, was highly professional, knowledgeable, and supportive the entire way. The whole mountain crew was incredible — friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I felt safe, motivated, and well taken care of throughout the climb.

After the mountain, I went on a two-day safari with Josephat as my driver and guide. He was amazing — very experienced, patient, and full of interesting information about wildlife and the parks. We saw so many animals, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

On my last day, I enjoyed a bike trip with Onesmo and Awadhi. They made the tour fun, relaxed, and a perfect way to wrap up my adventure.

I highly recommend Eco-Africa Climbing to anyone visiting Tanzania. They support the local community, provide excellent service, and deliver unforgettable memories. I would definitely choose them again!

I'm convinced Eco Africa Climbing is one of the very the best Kilimanjaro tour operators!
5/5

My friends and I had a truly incredible experience climbing the beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro with Eco Africa Climbing. I feel incredibly lucky to have had their team look after us for the entirety of our time in Kilimanjaro. We really did feel in very safe hands from the moment we landed at Kilimanjaro Airport. The communication with Frederick from when we booked the trip, all the way through to the conclusion of our time in Kilimanjaro, made the whole experience seamless and minimised any worries or concerns we may have had.

Our wonderful guide, John, collected us from the airport and dropped us off at our hotel. We had three wonderful guides looking after us for the whole trip; John, Jackie and Babusha. They checked to make sure we had all the appropriate gear and offered any rentals we may need. We had a total of 19 amazing porters on our team. They really are the kindest, most considerate and hard-working people I have had the honour of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble. They had such a big team looking after just five of us embarking on the hike.

Nothing was spared and they really went above and beyond. All we had to worry about was putting one foot in front of the other and keep going. They carried most of our gear. We only had to carry our daypacks. They set up our lovely tents and the rest of the camp. Chef cooked us the most delicious hot meals three times a day, every day. I honestly don't know how he did it! The lovely Emmanuel served us all of our meals in the mess tent, woke us up every morning with a coffee in our tent, brought us hot water to wash every morning and evening. They did a medical check on us every morning and evening, which gave us all peace of mind.

They thought of every detail, with Thomas taking the time and care to clean our boots when we got to camp, greeting us with refreshing tropical juice. Despite their tough working, they were all so friendly, kind and patient with us. They shared their knowledge about the local wildlife and zones of the mountain we were in. The brilliant DJ John kept us going with vast array of tunes.

Undoubtedly, I would not have made it to Stella Point if I did not have this incredible team. Their phenomenal encouragement and guidance got me to the peak. And I am so delighted we made it. It was a truly magical experience and I feel so fortunate to have reached the Roof of Africa with this wonderful team.

Climbing Kilimanjaro was a true once-in-a-lifetime experience. It can be overwhelming to choose which company to go with as there appears to be so much online. I would have no hesitation in recommending Eco Africa Climbing. Firstly, they are a KPAP-registered company, meaning they treat their porters fairly. This was one of my major concerns when researching companies. They are actually based in Moshi, and not a big international company. When speaking with many of the different members of the team, they all had only positive things to say about their company and were very proud to be members of Eco Africa. They were very transparent about everything.

Choose Eco Africa Climbing if you want to have a truly incredible experience in Kilimanjaro and support the local hard-working people who will go the extra mile for you.

Thank you for a wonderful experience for both safari and Mt.Kili Climb
5/5

We had a truly wonderful and pleasant experience with this local company. Our 7-day safari was nothing short of magical. Our guide, Josephat, was phenomenal—he knew exactly where to find the animals we were hoping to see and made every moment enjoyable with his warm personality and deep knowledge of the wildlife.
When my daughter missed her flight, the company owner, Fredrick, went above and beyond. He was incredibly understanding and arranged a reliable driver to pick her up and bring her safely to our resort. That level of care and flexibility meant the world to us.
Later, my daughter and I embarked on a climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro. Our guide, Gasper, and the entire crew were absolutely amazing. They supported us every step of the way, showing genuine care and helping us achieve our dream of reaching the summit. We are forever grateful for their dedication and encouragement.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for an authentic, safe, and memorable experience in Tanzania. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made our journey truly special.
Very reasonably priced compared to other companies..

Great team and great experience
5/5

We just finished a fantastic Kilimanjaro trek with Eco Africa. We did the Lemosho 8 day route, and with the help of the amazing team, and our guides Onesmo and John, we both successfully summited. Eco Africa was incredibly easy to deal with from the beginning, with Fredrick being clear and consistent to communicate with. As for the team on the mountain, we are so grateful for all their help, their smiles, positive attitude and strength (literally, carrying 20kg of stuff each) day after day. They felt like a family and this helped us push through. David, the chef, did an amazing job catering for us being vegan and we were blown away by the food! Pizza, pancakes, pasta, porridge, salads, fresh fruit, amongst so many other things. The food was nutritious and there was always plenty so we were always full. Special mention also to Emanuel, our waiter, and Junie who helped us on the summit night. Another bonus was they set up a portable toilet and tent at each camp site which was great. I would highly recommend this company!

Warm-Hearted Team and Great Memories with Eco Africa – Kilimanjaro and Safari
5/5

Choosing Eco Africa Climbing and Safari was really the best decision for our trip to Tanzania. From the very beginning, we felt warmly welcomed, perfectly looked after, and supported by a professional and very kind team.

We are from Switzerland and had an absolutely unforgettable experience. We climbed Kilimanjaro via the Northern Circuit in 8 days, and everything was perfectly organized and adjusted to our needs. A huge thank you to our amazing guides Onesmo and John, our cook David, and the strong and always smiling porters – Vincent, Emanuel, Thomas, Jonas, Philemon, Okini, Davis, Mussa, Richard, Ramadan, Thorsten – you made this adventure possible! The food on the mountain was outstanding, especially considering the altitude and circumstances. We had requested a fully vegan menu, and David managed to create delicious, varied, and nutritious meals every day – it was fantastic.

After the climb, we went on a 4-day safari through Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara. It was another highlight, and we saw an incredible variety of animals. Our safari guide and driver Joseph was knowledgeable, attentive, and very committed. When we had a problem with the car, he immediately organized that we could continue the day with another group, and by the next morning the vehicle was already repaired. It was all taken care of in such a good way that we always felt comfortable and in good hands.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Eco Africa Climbing and Safari to everyone – not only for their excellent service and warm-hearted team, but also to support a truly local Tanzanian company.

Amazing experience with Eco-Africa. Highly recommend.
5/5

We did a seven-day Lemosho route Kilimanjaro trek and a one-day Tarangire safari with Eco Africa. Both were truly incredible experiences, and I am deeply grateful to Eco Africa for making them possible.

The team worked closely with us to ensure every step of our journey went smoothly. They coordinated transportation to and from the airport, the hotel, Kilimanjaro, and Tarangire. They were extremely helpful and accommodating when we decided to fit in a safari at the last second, making sure we had ample time at the park while still ensuring we got to the airport in time for our flight. They made sure we had all the gear we needed and had additional gear available for rental at a reasonable price.

On the mountain, the team was just as organized and thorough. Our incredible team of guides and porters worked tirelessly to ensure every member of our seven-person group made it up to the summit safely and in good spirits. Every night, we had an amazing dinner (our guides described the chef as a “magician”, which I think is apt), followed by a medical checkup and a briefing on the next day’s trek. Each morning, we were awoken with a mugful of hot tea and coffee, hot water to wash off with, and a big breakfast while the team treated the water and refilled our bottles/water packs.

Beyond the logistics, what made our journey truly special was the genuine thoughtfulness and camaraderie with which the team treated us. There were several moments when a thoughtful gesture by a member of our team moved me to tears. To provide a few examples: when we arrived at camp after long days of hiking, members of the team rushed up to us to help us dust off our shoes and hand us glasses of mango juice. During the long summit night hike, our guides and porters sang to us to keep us motivated and energized. One guide noticed that my shoes were slipping on steeper segments of the hike, and from there on out, on every descent, a member of the team tracked me closely to catch me if I slipped. I later learned that, on strenuous segments, our guides listened to the sound of our breathing to make sure they were setting an appropriate pace. Throughout the journey, the team joked with us, developed affectionate nicknames for us, laughed with us, sang with us, and danced with us.

I am particularly grateful to our four wonderful guides: Onesmo, John, Everlyne, and Vincent. They did an incredible job motivating and leading both us and the team of porters—they were proactive, attentive, knowledgeable, and fun. I loved getting to know them and have so much respect and admiration for every single one of them.

I also had a great experience on the Tarangire safari with Living, our driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and he went out of his way to make sure we had the chance to see a broad swath of wildlife before returning to the airport.

Overall, I could not be happier with my experience with Eco Africa. I highly recommend them to anyone planning to visit Tanzania.

Can’t recommend Eco Africa enough!!
5/5

I cannot recommend eco Africa enough!!!We did the 7 day Lemosho climb and Tarangire safari day trip — both went incredibly smoothly thanks entirely to eco Africa. From the minute we landed at the airport til we flew out, they ensured we were able to do everything we wanted to within a tight schedule and that we felt safe & comfortable while doing so — they transported us to and from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to our hike and safari. They were easy to contact ahead of time & during the trip.

On the hike: hands down one of my favorite experiences ever. The climb itself was incredible — fantastic views ranging from the rainforest zone all the way to the arctic zone on the summit and effortful but very doable & rewarding hikes.

That said, it was really our Eco-Africa team that made the experience so remarkable. We had four FANTASTIC guides (Onesmo, Everlyne, John, and Vincent), a chef (the meals were consistently astonishingly good in addition to being great fuel for the hikes), + ~ 25 porters that carried our things + stuff for the camps in addition to fulfilling other roles (e.g. bringing hot tea to our tents each morning, providing support especially on summit night).

The attention to detail was unmatched— the guides checked over our gear at the hotel before starting, checked our blood oxygen level and altitude symptoms every morning and night, thought through the best meals and snacks for the trek, checked our daypacks to make sure they weren’t too heavy, told us how much water to drink, etc etc.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the camps — in addition to our personal tents, the team set up two bathroom tents and a dining tent at each site. The food was somehow delicious all the way up the mountain, with fresh fruit, protein, carbs, etc served hot and well seasoned.

What really made all the difference, though, was the way the team made us feel like we were part of a community— in addition to being skilled & knowledgeable, their kindness and energy went above and beyond.
I can easily imagine how hiking Kilimanjaro could get stressful and overwhelming, particularly as it gets closer to the summit, but the team’s support, smiles, and inclusivity made even the most strenuous parts feel super manageable and made the experience on the whole enjoyable & nearly stress-free.
To give just one of many examples — one of the people in my group accidentally broke his sunglasses a couple of days in and Onsemo immediately offered up an extra pair that he had. As another example, when I got mild nausea from the altitude, John and Everlyne alternated carrying my daypack.
I could give tons more examples, but suffice it to say that I can’t imagine a way the team could have done more to make us feel safe and comfortable.
(Also, as a side note, Eco Africa is a KPAP member which was important to us for helping ensure that the porters are safe and fairly compensated. Multiple companies are members, but not all)

On the safari: Again, wildly exceeded expectations. Eco picked us up from our hotel, timing it so that we’d get to have as full of a day as possible while still getting us to the airport at the perfect time that evening.

Living, our driver and guide, was awesome— very friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all our (many) qs about the animals (plus our more general qs about the cities and areas that we drove through on the way to the park).

We were able to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and even lions (!!), plus various birds and smaller animals (all of which Living was very impressive at finding, identifying, and sharing facts about).

All in all, this was a once in a lifetime trip and I can’t imagine a group doing a better job with it than eco !!

Professional and Passionate
5/5

We (5 friends and family) climbed Kilimanjaro and went on Serengeti safari with Eco-Africa. The service and experience exceeded expectations and has shifted my opinions of guides forever. Not all guides are created equal. Use a KPAP only guide to climb. KPAP ensures the porters are well paid and have enough food and accomodations on the mtn. Eco-Africa is head and shoulders above the other guides. We got 3 hot meals a day, AM coffee and hot water for washing and a hot towel when we come into camp. From the moment we landed at the airport to when they dropped us off at the airport at 0500 they were with us every step of the way. Top 5 musts: 1. Call Eco-Africa, 2. Donate all you climbing gear to the guides, 3. Tip big, 4. Learn some Swahili before you go, 5. Hakuna Matada.
