Great, well-organised safari
We did a five day safari with Tony, organised by Emmah - both of whom were super accommodating and helpful. We really enjoyed our mix of accommodations, and got to see some incredible diversity of landscapes (woodlands, grasslands, lakeside).

Great experience
Amazing 6 days with Hyrax safari! We went to Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. We had a wonderful time there. Communication with Irene is smooth and transparent. We enjoyed game safari, stay and food. It was a lifetime experience!

Epic adventure, good people!
We hiked Mt Kenya over 4 days. The whole experience was such a good adventure. The guides and porters were all so friendly and went out of their way to make sure you had a good time. Our main guide Dan was really helpful and generous. There were other hikers and groups around on the mountain but it didnt feel too busy which can take away from the sense of remotness and adventure. As I mentioned we hiked it over 4 days, I would suggest doing it over 5 days to help with the acclimatisation as we definitely felt it.
Hyrax were a great company, Irene always responded prompting to our emails and requests. They also dropped us to the airport at the end of the trip which we hadn't expected.

I had an excellent experience. Everything was well organised, very responsive , and choice of jeep and accommodation was better than expected. Our guide Dan went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. It's important that you have a good jeep as you'll be spending most of your waking time in it.

A Well-Curated Journey of Contrasts: Comfort, Wildness, Regret, and Surprise
The journey began with our email communication with Irene — her professional, prompt, and precise responses quickly put our minds at ease. About a week before our departure, she managed to book a hotel that had already shown as sold out. We’re truly grateful for such a highly competent team. They even informed the hotels in advance that we were on our honeymoon, and as a result, we received some lovely surprises and scenic dining arrangements.
Our safari guide was Ben — a humorous and knowledgeable professional with nine years of experience. He skillfully navigated through crowded areas to find the best spots for photography, knew countless hidden routes, and had access to a wide network of information. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five, the wildebeest river crossing, and the Great Migration. His deep understanding of animal behavior and his thoughtful scheduling allowed us to witness wildlife at their most active, while still having plenty of time to rest and take in the moments.
Although we unfortunately didn’t get to see Mount Kilimanjaro due to the weather, the surprises and joy throughout the rest of the trip more than made up for it. It was truly an unforgettable experience — thank you to such a professional and dedicated team.

From the very first message, Hyrax Safaris impressed us with their professionalism and personal touch. Roselyne was an absolute star—her communication was clear, reassuring, and always timely. She made the planning process feel effortless, keeping me informed every step of the way and answering all my questions with patience and care. We even had a few chats via WhatsApp, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The day before our safari, we were met at our hotel by Edwin, who was joining the trip as part of his learning journey. He collected the remaining payment, provided a receipt, and surprised us with four safari hats—a thoughtful gesture that my kids absolutely loved and wore with pride throughout the trip.
The safari itself was outstanding. Our driver and guide, Jim, was phenomenal—his knowledge of the Masai Mara was deep and engaging, and he answered every question with enthusiasm. Thanks to his expertise, we saw four of the Big Five, including the elusive leopard and cheetah, which felt like a dream come true.
Roselyne’s recommendation to stay at Enkorok Mara Camp was spot on. The camp was comfortable, well-run, and perfectly located for game drives. While the journey from Nairobi is long and bumpy, it’s absolutely worth it for the experience that awaits.
Having a private safari made all the difference—we had the flexibility to tailor our days, linger where we wanted, and enjoy the adventure at our own pace. It was worth every extra penny for the freedom and intimacy it provided.
Jim and Edwin were not just guides—they became part of the fun. We shared laughs, stories, and unforgettable moments. They’re a true credit to Hyrax Safaris.

Great hiking experience with flawless organization and wonderful team
We (my partner and I) hiked Mount Kenya in August of 2025 for 5 days. We were extremely happy with the experience. The hike itself was beautiful, even if quite challenging due to the altitude, and we were super happy about the team around our senior guide Daniel. Daniel and co-guide Daniel were the perfect guides - very pleasant to be around, helpful/ supportive and had an answer to all of our questions about animals in the area and so on. In general the team of seven people we were hiking with was super friendly and supportive- they did and excellent job and every meal was just very nice and plenty.
The transportation to and from the mountain to Nairobi wasn’t very comfortable but okay.

Great value and communication, personal approach
When I was looking for a safari operator in Kenya I contacted five or six ones and stopped on Hyrax. They seemed to have the optimal balance of costs and comfort. We were not looking for luxuries but clean and comfortable lodging was important. So what we got (Sopa Lodge) was above expectations.
Whats important, while communicating I felt the personal response. Irene was prompt and helpful in every issue I had and I wanna thank her for that.
We have booked the Amboseli safari and full day trip in Nairobi - both were organised in a great way. Guides/drivers did their best to show as much as possible and to keep it safe.
I definitely recommend Hyrax for:
1. Great value for the money balance
2. Fast respond, flexibility, meeting personal requests
3. Providing information and assistance in planning activities
4. Getting good lodge even at high season when it’s overbooked everywhere
5. Highly professional approach from the side of manager, drivers and guides.
