The tour was Fantastic!!!
Highly recommended tour.
We stayed in an excellent village in mikumi where we felt at home for the availability and friendliness of the staff.
In the three days we visited the Maasai village, went on a safari at Mikumi National Park and went trekking at udzungwa mountains national park. A beautiful and unforgettable experience that we highly recommend.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - 3 day Mikumi safari + uluguru mountain + masai village - for our honeymoon!!
We searched thoroughly online prior to booking the safari tour for our honeymoon. We came across the company ‘Going Green Safari Tours’ on the website safaribooking.com. They came highly recommended with over 300 reviews which were all very promising & within our budget so we proceeded with the 5% deposit and had direct contact with company via WhatsApp which was reassuring and convenient.
We booked the 3 day Mikumi safari + uluguru mountain + masai village - ALL INCLUSIVE. It was meant to be a shared tour but it was just us as nobody else booked the same tour.
We were in contact with a gent named Lenny. We soon found out he was the founder of Going Green Safari Tours. He collected us from our hotel and drove us to the Uluguru mountain for the climb / trek up the mountain where their was a beautiful waterfall. We met our tour guide ‘Evans’ and began the track. It took us approx 1hr 40 to reach the waterfall. We got amazing photos and Evans encouraged us throughout whilst providing insight of local area and its history. We climbed back down and were taken to ‘Soweto Village Hotel’. We had a comfortable sleep & the food options were ample given we have a vegetarian diet.
For day 2 we set of to the national Mikumi safari park at 07:30am following breakfast. Upon arriving at the park, we met our guide ‘Lanis’. We had a safari truck for the game drive. Lanis was very knowledgable and ensured to keep driving around the park until we were satisfied! We were fortunate to see 4 of the big 5! We saw lions, elephants, buffalos & a leopard + many more! We left the park 4pm and were taken to the Maasai village. We learnt about the Maasai traditions & their way of life. We stayed a ‘camp bastian’ overnight. Accomodation again was good and we didn’t have any issues.
The final day was a long drive back to DAR airport in time for our flight to Zanzibar. Lenny was great, he was punctual with his timing, communicated very well and we would most definately recommend the 3 day Mikumi safari + uluguru mountain + masai village to all that are looking to do a safari, as well as gain amazing insight into the ways of life in Tanzania!

Saw many animals in the wild with great guide and driver
I took an overnight Mikumi Safari tour on Saturday and Sunday. I initially signed up for this tour alone because it said it was a group tour, but when I found out there were no other guests, I invited two other people to join me.
The transportation in and from Mikumi to Camp Bastian was a used Nissan Safari. It had been modified to have three tiers of chairs and the doors had been removed so we could see the animals with a large field of view. In Japan, safari vehicles are often enclosed in cages, but the safari here is not an artificial gathering of animals, so you don't get too close to them. We drove slowly, looking for animals as if we were hunting, and when we found an animal or bird, our guide gave us a detailed explanation in English. Our guide was LADISLAUS, who studied zoology in Dar es Salaam and received training in national parks. He is a young man with two years of mikumi experience, but he reads illustrated books and studies diligently on a daily basis, and he was very interested in the animals in Japan.
Although there was a miscommunication that the number of rooms at Camp Sebastian did not match the number we had reserved, the lodging was cleaner and more stylish than we had expected. It gets cold at night and the windows don't close, so if you are cold, you may want to bring a blanket. There are towels and a pool, but no soap.
On the second day, we were transferred to Dar es Salaam. Same Alphard as on the way there? (a larger, better cushioned car) and departed at 7:00 am. On the road through the mikumi, we saw giraffes, zebras, and monkeys. We returned to Dar es Salaam before 3 pm. We had a restroom break at a clean place on the road and a store. Our driver, Ezekiel, was friendly and used to be a driver for a Japanese tour company. He has been a driver for a long time, so you can rest assured.
Lunch and dinner on the first day and breakfast on the second day were buffet style, and lunch on the second day was a camp box lunch.
The car ride was long, but it was a comfortable drive and we saw a lot of animals, so we were satisfied. Thank you very much.

Really helpful, gave lots of information. Quick to reply and very reliable
We had a brilliant time on safari. I would totally recommend using going green safaris. We had a lovely balance of a private tour feeling as though you’re the only people on yhe safari while seeing all the wildlife we wanted!

Bucket list item complete!
Highly recommend!
We visited Mikumi National Park for a 3 day trip from Dar es Salaam. The park has 4 of the big 5 and we saw all 4. Our guide worked so hard to find the animals.
We also went to visit the Masai village, which we were a little undecided about at first because we didn’t was to be annoying tourists, but the Masai were very welcoming and it was a lovely experience.
The hotel was beautiful, the staff were adorable, and the food was delicious!
One thing I will say is the taxi to Mikumi from Dar es Salaam was 8 hour each way, which was way more than we expected and took time away from our holiday. We did here there might be a train option, but we didn’t look into it.

Brilliant safari
Had a fantastic experience from start to finish with Going Green Safari. The personalised package reflecting what we wanted to do was spot on. Great advice on which parks to go to and where to stay. Loved the combination of game drives, boat safari, walking safari and hiking was just right for us. We wanted to avoid the mass tourist route and still see Tanzania’s wildlife and stunning nature. Massive thanks to Alfonso our driver and Paschal our guide who looked after us so well, super knowledgeable and most of all lovely people to spend our adventure with. I would have no reservations in recommending this company to anyone- good value, good service, good communication and good fun. Thankyou - a trip to remember!
