Amazing Tanzania Adventure
The reason for my 5 stars is definitely the quality of the service. I was struggling to create an itinerary for a 10 day Tanzania holiday. I did a random Google search and Gilmag Safaris came up. Mary was so prompt in replies and was so patient with all my questions. Our trip was amazing and the itinerary was easy to follow and everything went perfectly.
My wife and I are greatly appreciative to Gilmag Safaris for helping us organize a private 10-day tour through Tanzania. Our guide, Nickson was excellent, punctual, reliable and informative. We saw countless animals – including a hunt in Serengeti. We stayed in the most stunning and picturesque places; with Kubu Kubu Lodge being a highlight.

Professionalism, experience and customer service make Gilmag a great choice
We can’t say enough good things about Gilmag Safaris, Mary and Gilbert. My friend and I started planning our trip to Tanzania in September 2021. Originally scheduled for June, it was moved to September/October due to a date change in another trip. After comparing several tour operators, we selected Gilmag for their wonderful customer service, responsiveness, advice, guidance and willingness to customize our experience for our private group of two. Our unending questions and special requests were answered with grace and professionalism. From picking us up at the airport at 2 am, to accommodating our requests for special shopping trips to find a “swimming costume” that didn’t make it into the suitcase and other items, to stops to get that perfect photograph of something quite out of the ordinary, we were accommodated. Having Gilbert as our driver/guide was an added special bonus. His sixth sense about where to go to find animals, along with his years of experience and great photography skills, made our trip truly memorable. Our 10 days in Tanzania, seeing the beauty of Lake Manyara, Lake Eyasi, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire, along with animals, birds and wildlife, visiting Hadzabe, Datoga and Masai tribes, and spending time in Karatu and Arusha provided memories, photos and souvenirs that will bring delight for years to come. Our biggest regret is that we were not able to see Kili (night and daytime haze obscured the view), so we’ll just have to return! Thank you to Gilbert and Mary for making our trip a vacation of a lifetime.

It was absolutely a wonderful experience
My travel partner and I have just returned from a trip which included a safari and visit to Zanzibar. I booked this adventure online with Gilmag Safaris and it went off without a hitch! Our contact person Mary was phenomenal from start to finish. She even booked additional flights to get us across the country to Arusha where our safari began. She really went above and beyond! She was very responsive and always in touch both on email and WhatsApp.
Our biggest highlight of safari was Guide Gilbert - reliable guy with excellent knowledge regarding fauna & flora of all parks that we visited. He has more than 15 years experience. We couldn't have asked for a more informative, courteous and friendly person! Our Zanzibar leg of the trip was also wonderful and the beach side resort of Baraza Resort & Spa was fabulous!

4 Day Luxury Serena Safari
We travelled to Tanzania for our honeymoon in December. After doing a lot of research on different companies we decided to contact Gilmag and we were not left disappointed. Everything from initial enquiry was handled excellently. Mary communicated with us throughout, providing us with a detailed itinerary and coordinating airport transfers. We arrived in Kilimanjaro airport very tired after our wedding in Ireland, our guide Nixon was there to collect us and our dream safari started from there! As we were quite tired Nixon suggested to sleep on the drive, which we managed quite easily because the jeep was very comfortable. Once awake to filled with fresh Tanzanian coffee we entered Lake Manyara - we were amazed at everything we got to see. Over the next three days we also went to Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti national park and Tarangire National Park. All the parks were unique, each offering us a truly amazing experience. The real highlight of our trip was our amazing guide Nixon - Nixon has a wealth of knowledge but also of spirit, we loved spending time driving around with him and hearing his stories. He made our honeymoon dream come true, showing us sights we only dream of.
Other things to note; our packed lunch each day was delicious and our accommodation fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Gilmag, in fact, my parent are planning a safari next year and I will be making sure they book with Gilmag.
We finished our trip by visiting Mary in her beautiful home before going for a traditional Tanzanian BBQ with our guide and friend, Nixon.

We had a great time in Tanzania, thanks to Gilmag Safaris that organized a wonderful Safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti park!
Our guide Nickson, very experienced, was able to let us see every kind of savana's animals. The choice of the camps to spend the night was impecable. Thanks to Mary for her availability e professionality. We hope to come back again in Tanzania, always with Gilmag!

Unforgettable Tanzania Safari
My wife, son and I had the experience of a lifetime with Gilmag Safaris during our fifteen-day tour of Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Zanzibar. All correspondence before, during, and after our tour was timely, personal and professional.
Every moment; from my first email, to my constant, "what if we did this", to even the ‘I HOPE YOU LANDED SAFELY BACK HOME’ ... this level of caring only comes from people who love their country and love to make sure everyone who comes there has the time of their lives.. Mary worked with us to tailor the tour and it was wonderful.
Nickson was the crown jewel of the tour—polite, incredibly informative, very intelligent and friendly in his conversation and explanations; helpful beyond any reasonable expectation. He met us at the Kilimanjaro International airport with a big smile which never left. He is also an excellent driver. The accommodations chosen by Gilmag Safaris were wonderful; beautiful facilities, hospitable and excellent staffs. We’ll always remember the tour with fondness and we’ll never forget our guide, Nickson.
Without Gilmag’s precise planning, time management, connections, and passion for Tanzania, we would have missed many learning opportunities. By the end of our adventure, we had fallen in love with the people, food, music and beauty of Tanzania and Zanzibar

Gilmag Safaris – Amazing Trip in Tanzania
What an amazing experience this trip was! I have been wanting to do this for a while and a work trip to Tanzania gave me that kick to finally do it. Me being a planner, I researched a lot of tour companies and Gilmag Safaris received overwhelming positive feedback. Everything was very thoughtfully planned, from pick-up time and what to expect through on arrival, to sleeping accommodations, dining, etc.
Nickson, our tour guide while in Tanzania, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and was very patient with us and the hundreds of questions that were asked. During the tours he gave us plenty of time to explore the local markets, Tanzanite Experience, which was greatly appreciated. From a scale of 1 to 10, the trip itself was a 10, but Nickson made it a 15!
Over the course of our 8 days trip, with his wit, wisdom, encyclopedic knowledge, care, compassion, and sense of humor, Nickson became family. If you are fortunate enough to get Nickson as your guide, you are in for a special treat.
In Serengeti, I would highly recommend staying at Tanzania Pure Tented Camp and not a hotel. It is set in a beautiful location and the tents are very comfortable and showers are more than adequate.
I would definitely recommend Gilmag Safaris, and thank you, Nickson, for sharing your amazing country with us!
