5 Day Serengeti Safari
We had an outstanding experience with Long Way Expeditions from start to finish. Ann made the booking process incredibly easy, communication was excellent, and every detail was well organized. She even came to our lodge the evening we arrived to personally ensure we were informed and prepared for the adventure ahead.
The next morning, we met Maila, and from that moment on, he made sure we were exceptionally well taken care of. During the five days we spent with him, we saw and learned so much. Maila was engaging, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure we had the best possible safari experience.
Thanks to his expertise and persistence, we witnessed incredible wildlife, including a cheetah immediately after a successful hunt, lion prides, elephants, leopards, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and so much more. His ability to spot animals and share insights about their behavior truly took our safari to the next level.
We highly recommend Long Way Expeditions to anyone planning a safari. And if you have the opportunity, be sure to ask for Maila as your guide. He is simply the best!

Amazing Experience
Wow, I don't know where to begin. Looking for a local tour company was overwhelming when I started researching this safari. I stumbled across Longway Expeditions during my search. After reading, I knew they were what I was looking for. A responsible, local company. From the start to the very end, Anne was there to guide me the whole way, making sure it included what I wanted. Was always quick to respond to my questions. She is amazing at her job, such a professional.
Our guide Maila I can't express my gratitude to him. Also so professional! He is so kind. His expertise helped us to see the big 5! There were times we saw other guides going places they should not have just so their clients could see animals. Not Maila. He indicated we would see what we wanted at other places, and we did. And we saw so much more! From a lioness hunting, a cheetah with a fresh kill (with no other trucks around), to Momma elephants nursing their babies, and so so much more! He is so good at what he does, and so knowledgeable.
I HIGHLY recommend going with Longway Expeditions and requesting Maila! All the lodges were exceptional! You will not be disappointed!!

Incredible experience, fab communication, brill value for money
My brother and I had the most incredible 3-day safari experience with Longway expeditions. The trip was perfectly bespoke to suit our needs and budget, and Anne was incredibly hands-on and responsive to any questions or concerns I had, from the stage of enquiring to even beyond the end of our trip! Anne was reassuring and incredibly patient. She responded to all my messages swiftly, even when they were more related to visiting Tanzania in general as well as specifically about the safari.
There were so many additional little details which really showed the care and thoughtfulness that had been put into the package.
We also booked a day trek to Kilimanjaro national park, which was easily arranged with Longways, and additional details of what to do were made very clear. Transport throughout the whole trip was efficient and felt safe and comfortable.
Our tour guide, Amir, was incredibly knowledgeable. He was passionate about giving us the best experience and that made such a difference to the atmosphere of trip, keeping us excited and engaged the whole time.
The value for money was very very good. All the accommodations we were booked into were very nice and the food provided was also delicious. Dietary requirements were catered to without an issue too.
I would recommend Longway expeditions to everyone.

A trip of a lifetime with Longway Expeditions!
Fantastic first trip to Tanzania with Longway Expeditions! I was quite nervous about going on safari as a solo female traveller, but Anne from Longway was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the entire process. She addressed all of my concerns, helped me customize the itinerary around my specific interests, and made sure I got the most out of my time in Tanzania.
I was absolutely blown away by the diversity of the landscapes, the incredible wildlife, and the warmth of the people. My driver-guide, Amir, was very experienced, extremely flexible, and gave me the best possible wildlife-viewing experience. I was amazed by his knowledge and his ability to spot interesting animals from a distance. I especially appreciated how mindful he was about giving the animals enough space and making sure we never got too close, as this was something I had been particularly concerned about.
Every worry I had before the trip completely disappeared once I was there. To any solo female travellers who are nervous about travelling alone, I can honestly say you won’t regret it. I can’t wait to return to Tanzania and plan more safaris with Longway Expeditions!

Amazing!
We chose Long Way Expeditions for our safari based on a friend’s recommendation, and I truly believe it was the best decision we could have made to discover Tanzania!
As a small local agency, they offered us a genuinely authentic experience and gave us the opportunity to explore Tanzania beyond the usual tourist routes. It was incredible. Ana and Abu’s kindness, professionalism, and dedication allowed us to enjoy an unforgettable human experience, far beyond what we expected from a trip to such a beautiful country.
The landscapes are breathtaking, seeing wild animals in their natural habitat was absolutely amazing, and the warmth and kindness of the Tanzanian people truly touched our hearts.
Ana and Abu made sure our journey was unforgettable, from carefully selecting each hotel luxurious, comfortable, and unique to creating a perfectly organized itinerary. My father was celebrating his 60th birthday in Tanzania, and Ana and Abu even arranged a surprise for him, which was such a thoughtful and touching gesture.
Everything was perfect.

A once in a lifetime experience
Anne was the best: She was very patient and worked with me to figure out the best safari format on a very short notice. The experience there was a once in a lifetime, i have never seen so many big cats and my guide was full of knowledge.
I cannot recommend enough to try Long Way Expeditions, it was such a find!
And Tanzania was fantastic!

Safari experts with local knowledge and attention to detail
I came across Long Way Expeditions from responsibletravel.com when looking for a travel provider that was local and eco-conscious. We promptly heard from Ann, one of the owners, and after providing our requested length of a private safari trip and the sights we hoped to see, she quickly generated a thorough itinerary. Unfortunately, our trip fell during some political unrest so we had to quickly change dates and Ann handled that like a pro.
Upon arriving to Tanzania, we were greeted at the airport by Amil, our tour guide for the duration of the safari. We really enjoyed Amil's enthusiasm, guidance, and knowledge sharing throughout the trip. We also met Ann on the first day to brief us on the itinerary and again at the end where we had lunch with her and her co-owner/husband Abu to debrief the trip. I thought this was a lovely way to end the trip and also ensure they take in feedback.
The actual safari was a once in a lifetime experience. Definitely be prepared for long days in the truck and we also highly recommend to bring a camera beyond your phone camera to capture amazing pictures. We saw the Big 5 and a multitude of other animals across three different parks. We also enjoyed seeing the local villages during our drive. We did decide to stop at a Masai village but would probably skip that as these roadside ones are known for high entrance fees and forced souvenir sales which we experienced. We'd also warn the large souvenir markets near the parks are extremely overpriced and it is worth waiting until you get to Arusha.
The standard of the accommodations we stayed in were great. From glamping in the Serengeti to lodges in Arusha, each place was beautiful, had great service, and delicious food. Overall we loved Tanzania and would travel with Long Way Expeditions again!

Incredible, knowledgeable, reliable and charming couple.
This was my best safari ever, and I have done many. From my very first contact with Ann, I found her to be very efficient and flexible.Her responses were always prompt and that was important given I only gave her 5 days to prepare my very specific itinerary! I did an 11 day Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar tour and experienced so much more than I was expecting. I loved the fact that this was a locally family owned company and also great to see that they support local initiatives. From my first meeting with Abu, I felt safe and comfortable. This was essential especially as I was travelling solo for the first time.
Abu was extremely knowledgeable, patient and caring. The drives are long but we filled them with lots of chatter with him only interrupting to point out things of interest on the road. He has convinced me to return and see more of their amazing country. Ann and Abu have exceeded my expectations.

Trip of a lifetime by Long Way Expeditions
If you are wanting to take a safari to Kenya & Tanzania, look no further than LongWay Expeditions.
We were so fortunate to connect with Ann and Abu through Responsible Travel as were looking for a local contact. Ann put a wonderful package together for us, but willing to make any changes I requested and always so prompt and helpful.
Abu could not have been a better driver/guide. He was patient, thoughtful and just a joy to spend time with. His knowledge of the wildlife, ability to find the perfect viewing spot - and comraderie with other guides - all led to an unforgettable experience.
The highlight was viewing a wildebeest crossing in Northern Serengeti, but so many wonderful sightings. Would love to return to experience Southern Serengeti - and would only use Longway Expeditions.

Super experience
This is a local business owned by Ann and Abu. Arranging our trip with Ann was perfect. We gave our budget, listed our interests and Ann suggested a bespoke itinerary for the two of us. Ann was happy to make changes as we changed our minds! And was very quick to respond. I felt very confident booking with them.
Abu was our guide. He was very friendly and fun to be with. Very knowledgeable and determined to find what we traveled so far to see! Also a safe driver who had great respect for the animals and environment. He looked after us well.
We also had a driver and guide so we could do a day walk at the foot of Kilimanjaro. They were equally friendly, experienced and helpful.
The highlight for us was the Serengeti. Unique and authentic. Staying in the wilderness in tents is truly amazing.
Together Ann and Abu make the best team!
