Unforgetable
We have just returned from an unforgetable experience with Safari Soles, after a 8 day safari on Tanzania with my wife. From the beginning, the whole process was effortless and smooth, thanks to Ally Sanagora, which was the first to answer my mail requesting a quote. He answered all my requests on a profissional way and made all the arrangements necessary according to my preferences. He was very polite during the whole process and also during the safari, making sure that everything was going ok. We have been in contact for months and it was a pleasure dealing with Ally!
Regarding the Safari itself, we went to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Tarangire prepared us for Serengeti. In Manyara we fell in love with the jungle and all its birds and monkeys. In Serengeti we got emotional with the raw nature of the park and in Ngorongoro we witnessed the closest thing to the Garden of Eden, on Earth. Our guide was Raymond and we got the luck to have a second guide, Balthazar aka Papali, which was learning to become a Safari guide as well. While Raymond was polite, patient, discrete and very knowledgeable, Balthazar was funny, made incredible videos of us with my phone and gave us lots of precious information as well. Raymond offered us the big five (with 3 rhinos!), but so much more!! He knew the best spots for all the animals, taking into account the unpredictability of it. The animals kept coming toward us and Raymond knew just where and when to wait for some magical moments. And thanks to his efforts, there were so many of them! From a cave with a lion and his cubs, a cheetah standing with her two little ones, a leopard spotting a herd of Thompson gazelles from the top of a tree and actually chasing one for her two cubs, a moment in which we were looking to a lake with a crocodile and all of a sudden the lake was being invaded with 40 elephants that stood right in front of us for a spa moment of water and stinking mud and finally, a lion and his lioness standing tall in the savanah with the wind blowing through their heads, we had it all! We also enjoyed every stop (and there were many) for just looking at the acacia trees, spotting vultures, eagles and other birds of prey, but also the hornbills (even a black and white casqued hornbill), little birds like the blue starling and the most beautiful lilac breasted roller bird and many african green bee eaters. I’m a bird lover but we had lots of “f#%k birds” moments with the mammals! Thanks to Balthazar we had the most incredible videos and he was the perfect assistent guide, always learning but always trying to help us as well. It wouldn’t have been the same without him. The accomodations were top notch, very intimate and friendly and we were always received with a fresh white towell to clear the dust (believe me, you’ll need it), and a fresh drink. The food was fantastic, just like home, but the best meal was on the bushes in Serengeti with our guides. Raymond and Balthazar were the best and we can’t thank them enough. Believe me when I say you will be in very good hands with them, that’s for sure!!
We finished our journey with Materuni waterfalls and the hot springs. It was an adventure going into the cascade and knowing all about the whole process of making coffee out of beans. We even prepared our own coffee from the beginning. The people in the village were very friendly and Innocent was the perfect guide through it all. The hot springs were the best finish for our day, just before getting to the airport.
In sum, if you’re thinking about doing a safari, look no further and book with Safari Soles! You’ll never regret it, you’ll return with amazing memories, lots of stories to remember and you’ll be able keep your memory of Tanzania alive! Our, will never die…

A safari is not relaxing, it's exciting.
We had Dickson as our guide for 5 days during our trip to Serengeti, Central Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire.
The parks were full of wildlife and since it was shoulder season, we did not have to compete with other tourists for good watching spots.
Dickson is patient, respectful, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. He is a good balance of quiet and chatty. His years of experience came in handy as we were able to witness 3 lion hunts. Amazing!
Another favourite moment was seeing a famly of elephants having a mudbath.
I still can't believe we were able to get that close to the animals without them getting territorial.
We ended our safari with a beach holiday in Zanzibar. Highly recommended so you can wind down as the safari leg of the trip was tiring.
In all, this trip was amazing. Dickson was fantastic.
Many thanks to Prosper Mtey, our safari specialist, for coordinating this trip. The accomodation he arranged was fantastic.
Thank you Safari Soles.
