A memorable safari, but disappointing guide behaviour
Our safari in Tanzania was memorable for the wildlife we encountered, and our guide, Lucas, was knowledgeable and skilled at spotting animals. However, his behaviour and communication were disappointing.
The most upsetting incident occurred on the morning of 28 August at our camp. Due to a misunderstanding about the breakfast and departure times, Lucas raised his voice at me in front of several camp staff and said, “Why do you do this?” I found this behaviour unprofessional and disrespectful, particularly as the misunderstanding could have been resolved through calm and respectful communication.
There were also some communication issues during the trip, as well as a delay on the first day while the vehicle underwent brake adjustments. While we appreciated Lucas’s wildlife knowledge, respectful communication and professional conduct are equally important to the overall safari experience.

Following my review, Safari Soles contacted me personally and investigated the concerns I raised. The management team acknowledged the issues and informed me that Lucas had been suspended from guiding assignments pending further professional training and evaluation. They also outlined steps to address broader operational and communication issues.
I appreciate that the management team took my feedback seriously and followed through on its commitments. While this does not change what my family experienced during the safari, I believe it is fair to acknowledge the company's subsequent response and efforts to address the issues raised.

Overall extremely Professional, Safe and Fun Adventure
We were on a 7-day safari at the beginning of October. We went from Arusha to the central Serengeti, the Ngorongoro, and finally the northern part.
Even though I have done a lot of previous trips, it was my first time in central Africa and also going on safari. And it honestly really blew me away. From the first day, Elli (our guide, the best) amazed us with the whole experience. The jeep we travelled in and did the safaris in was very well equipped and comfortable. He was very good company as well as a guide, and was extremely well informed on, honestly, everything. The lodges we stayed at were mostly amazing, with some being “only” very good. The parks are amazing, but you can’t really describe that. We saw many, many animals, more than expected. Maybe that’s because we were lucky, but more likely it’s because Elli is ridiculously good at spotting animals.
I can really recommend this safari wholeheartedly and will most likely come back, hopefully with Elli.

Professional and Fun
Safari Soles provided us with seamless service from start to finish. They were the first operator to come back to us with an outline itinerary and cost (our initial plans were a little vague), followed by plenty of options as we honed in on our plans. Throughout the process, they were wonderfully responsive and professional (shout out to Faith, who was exceptional). This was a short trip, covering 4 days/3 nights at Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. Our flight arrived at Nairobi airport early in the morning (6am) but there was never any concern about having to wait to be picked up. Our guide, Sammy, was there with a cheery smile and warm welcome to take us straight off on our trip. Similarly, on the return, we were taken directly to the airport for our onward flight at 9pm, but with a thoughtful stop to allow us to have a bite to eat at a shopping mall prior to airport drop-off.
Sammy was exceptional. Nothing was too much effort, going out of his way to give us the best experience. His enthusiasm for the natural world and conservation shone through. He was keen to discuss all aspects of life in Kenya and never tired of answering our questions.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Safari Soles. Exceptional.

The best safari company ever!
We had an absolutely amazing time on our customized 3 day safari with Safari soles. We were able to fully customize a 9 day trip with a safari and trip to Zanzibar. Our safari guide Simon was amazing, very kind, respectful and knowledgeable about the area and all the animals. He made the safari even better for us, was so helpful and overall just really great company! He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. We saw every animal we wanted to see, Simon made sure we got to see everything we wanted to and more! I highly recommended safari soles and specifically Simon as our safari guide! Our tour operator Gladness who booked our trip for us and answered all of our crazy questions was also amazing. She was available for any and all questions, and communicated so well to ensure we booked our dream trip. Such a great experience with safari soles!

Wow what an amazing trip! We booked with SafariSoles for our Honeymoon Safari and everything was well organised and stress free for us. Amazing
We had an incredible safari experience with Safari Soul, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide and driver, Jackson Masong!
Jackson was fantastic from start to finish. He made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip, even while navigating some very challenging roads. He was an excellent driver, incredibly knowledgeable, and always had such a positive attitude. He went out of his way to get us as close to the animals as safely possible, giving us some unforgettable wildlife experiences.
What really stood out was how accommodating he was. He regularly asked what we wanted to see and do, listened to our preferences, and tailored the experience around us. He was patient, flexible, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had the best possible experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
A few things to know before going on safari:
The roads are extremely bumpy, and that’s something you should be prepared for. If you’re visiting multiple national parks, keep in mind that they can be several hours apart, so expect long days of driving. The highways and roads could definitely benefit from more government investment in paving and maintenance, as the travel between destinations can be quite rough.
Also, be prepared for what they call “African makeup” — the dust! You’ll get covered in it, especially during game drives, so pack extra clothes and don’t expect to stay clean for long.
Another important tip is to bring plenty of snacks. You’re travelling through very remote areas, and there aren’t restaurants or convenience stores inside the parks. Lunches are generally pre-packaged, so having your own snacks makes a big difference during the long days.
Overall, the safari was an unforgettable experience, and we would absolutely recommend Jackson to anyone booking with Safari Soul. His professionalism, positive energy, excellent driving, and willingness to cater to our interests made the trip special.
The wildlife is incredible, the scenery is breathtaking, and the experience is worth it. Just come prepared for the long drives, bumpy roads, and lots of dust!

An Unforgettable Safari Experience with an Amazing Guide!
We did a 4-day safari with Estomi, and everything was absolutely amazing! He is such a kind, friendly, and genuine person who went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. He was always happy to take his time to ensure we could fully enjoy the beauty of nature and observe the incredible wildlife.
The overall organization and arrangements were excellent from start to finish. Everything was very well planned, and they took care of every detail, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about anything.

Emmanuel was kind, helpful, informative and flexible
Our tour with Safari Soles was for 3 days 2 nights. We were picked up at our hotel in Arusha and taken straight to our first day of animal/bird/plant sighting. Our guide, Emmanuel, could not have been more informative, kind and helpful! He went out of his way to tell us about the country, the local people and whatever we were curious about. If he did not know, he would find answers. The hotel, Eileen’s Trees Inn was clean, well stocked and the food (included) was plentiful as well as delicious! I was able to stick to a vegetarian style of eating without going hungry and I never dipped into my emergency food stash. The itinerary allowed us the time to see the animals, spend all the time we needed in each park and still get back to our hotel with time to relax. I highly recommend Safari Soles and Emmanuel as your guide! You will not be dissatisfied!!!

Our two night, three day safari took us through three national parks, and while the wildlife and landscapes were breathtaking, Emmanuel was the person who truly made the experience exceptional.
