5/5

Venessa at SafariSoles was absolutely brilliant at arranging our tour. Efficient, friendly and going through every aspect to ensure we got exactly the experience we wanted. From liaising with me by email in UK, meeting us at my friend’s home in Nairobi to responding to messages whilst we were traveling, Venessa never failed to provide advice and support. Our accommodation was excellent at all 4 locations (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli), giving us the holiday of a lifetime and seeing the Big Five.
Biggest praise and appreciation must go to our driver/guide (new family member) Joe. Joe totally made our whole trip. An excellent driver, with immense knowledge of Kenya and its wildlife, funny and kind - it was like travelling with a son rather than having a guide. He knew everyone and had a sixth sense for getting us in front of the most amazing wildlife (mating lions, leopard with kill in tree, herds of elephants and more giraffes than you could imagine). By the time we had to leave Joe we were family and wishing he was continuing on to Watamu with us!
Cannot recommend SafariSoles enough - and if you can get Joe you will have the most incredible experience (just so long as doesn’t clash with our next visit as he’s our driver now!!!!)

An Extraordinary 11 day Safari — Thanks to Rogers and the Safari Soles!
5/5

We recently completed an extraordinary safari in Tanzania and what an incredible experience it was!
Our guide, driver, and wildlife spotter, Rogers, was absolutely exceptional. Every day, he worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best possible experience. Whether he was navigating challenging roads, taking care of our meals and refreshments, sharing his extensive knowledge of wildlife, or finding elusive animals for unforgettable encounters and photo opportunities, Rogers consistently went above and beyond.

The wildlife sightings were spectacular! During our safari, we spotted an astonishing amount of lions, many cheetahs and leopards, one incredibly rare black rhino, and numerous white rhinos, along with countless elephants, Cape buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and other amazing wildlife.

One of the highlights of our adventure was seeing all of Africa’s legendary Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, Cape buffalo, and rhinoceroses. Spotting the elusive black rhino was particularly exciting and something we will never forget. For anyone who loves wildlife and photography, this was truly a dream safari!
Having been on safaris before, I can honestly say that Rogers’ wildlife-spotting skills were among the best we’ve experienced. He seemed to have an uncanny ability to find animals that the rest of us would never have noticed.

Another thing that impressed us was his relationship with fellow safari guides. Rogers seemed to know everyone! He was constantly exchanging information about wildlife sightings, greeting other guides with a smile, and sharing tips about where animals had been spotted. This network of friendships, along with his willingness to share information, made a tremendous difference in our experience.
It’s also important to recognize just how demanding a safari guide’s job can be. Rogers spent long days behind the wheel, sometimes 10–12 hours, while simultaneously watching the roads, spotting wildlife, educating us, and making sure we were comfortable and safe. He handled it all with professionalism, patience, enthusiasm, and a wonderful sense of humor. His personality made the long days especially enjoyable.

The accommodations arranged by Safari Soles were equally impressive. The safari camps were fantastic, the food was excellent, and the staff at every location were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our stay memorable. Everything was well organized, and the entire trip ran remarkably smoothly.
A special thank-you to Thomas and Fravia, who helped put together such a wonderful itinerary. And a shout-out to @ellajanemckendrick Ella Kendrick, whose YouTube videos and extensive knowledge of Africa helped lead us to Safari Soles in the first place.
Bryson, you have assembled an amazing team! You should be extremely proud of the people representing your company. They made an already incredible destination even more special.

We’ve traveled extensively and experienced safaris before, but what truly distinguished Safari Soles was the personal attention, flexibility, and genuine enthusiasm of the people who made our trip possible. We never felt like just another group of tourists.
We will absolutely recommend Safari Soles to our friends and family, and we hope to return to Tanzania for another safari in the not-too-distant future.

Asante sana, Rogers, and the entire Safari Soles team! You gave us memories that will last a lifetime.

It was such an incredible experience – thanks to our guide Dikson!
5/5

We booked a 6-day safari, and—especially when doing something like this for the first time and arranging everything with people from another country—it feels a bit strange at first. Safari Soles always responded very quickly and addressed all our questions.
Our guide, Dikson, was truly wonderful. We felt so comfortable with him that, the day after the safari ended, we really missed having him around. We felt completely safe the whole time, and he always kept a close eye on us. We laughed a lot with him during our game drives and had a truly wonderful time! Thank you for that!

Reliable, very responsive, well organized tour operator, would highly recommend.

Everything was very well organised, we had a perfect honeymoon safari with Safari Soles! We were lucky to have Japhet as our safari guide - he was able to spot every animal we were interested in and he also had immense knowledge about the wildlife we were observing. There were also a list of birds I really wanted to see and it turned out Japhet was a fellow bird lover, so he was able to spot all of my favourite birds and many more that I haven't heard of! I would highly recommend him to anybody who is a bird enthusiast.

Perfect safari experience!
5/5

We had a customized 7 days mid-range private safari to Tarangere NP, Ngorongoro protected area, Central Serengeti and Northern Serengeti with great migration.
All perfectly organized. Lodges were all excellent, to the upper quality level, with a special mention to the Serengeti Safari Heaven and the Safari Heaven Migration camp. The food was always very good.
But it was our guide Eli who made our experience so unique and memorable. Incredibly experienced and knowledgeable, he drove us through the parks, giving us a lot of insights and information. Always good humoured, kind and respectful of the animals, the environment and the other guests, he managed to let us meet all
of the big fives: more than 70 lions (yes, we counted them!), 3 leopards, 8 rynos, 5 cheetahs, over 50 elephants, giraffes, hippos, hundreds of buffalos, zebras, gazelles, etc and thousands of gnus… crossing the Mara river. We can only recommend him!

An exceptional safari that we recommend for 100%!
5/5

We had an absolutely incredible week on safari, a dream experience that will stay with us forever!

A huge congratulations to Douglas for the flawless organization of this trip. Everything was perfect from beginning to end: the daily adventures, the delicious meals, and the truly amazing campsites. Everything came together to create an unforgettable experience.

We were lucky enough to see an incredible variety of wildlife: giraffes, elephants, lions, gazelles, cheetahs, leopards, hippos, rhinos, the great wildebeest migration crossing… and even a serval!

A special mention goes to Sheema, our guide, who was absolutely amazing! Thanks to his experience, knowledge, kindness, and great sense of humor, we enjoyed truly unique moments. We are so glad we got to share this adventure with him.

We return home with wonderful memories and incredible images that will stay with us forever.

Thank you, Douglas and Sheema, for making this adventure so special!

Very satisfied with Safari Soles. the sales and guide are really wonderful.
5/5

I’m very happy with Safari Soles’ service.

Jackson was my first point of contact, and he was a big reason I chose Safari Soles. He replied to emails very quickly—it felt like he never had time off. He also understood what I needed efficiently, and we communicated very smoothly. And his plan was really cost-effective and totally fits our budget.

Another thing I really appreciated was that once my safari started, all the hotel and sight photos Jackson sent me matched exactly what I saw, and the itinerary was followed 100%.

Of course, one other key person made this happen: our guide, Abu. He was very professional and had deep knowledge of animals, plants, and culture. I really enjoyed his briefing before each day’s drive. It was like a full lecture—I was totally into it and learned so much.

The only time I cried on this trip was because of Abu. He didn’t just put his knowledge into practice; he was also very responsible. When we were staying at a camp in northern Serengeti, an angry elephant charged toward our dining area. Abu was the only one who ran out and used professional hand signals to defuse the situation. Afterward, he even took the initiative to teach the camp staff how to drive elephants away.

He also had a good sense of boundaries. He gave us space to chat with each other, and joked with us at the right moments to keep things lively. Finally, I’m very grateful that after each day’s drive, after making sure we all went to rest, he carefully cleaned the vehicle. He was actually the most tired person every day, because he had to drive for long hours and take care of us. This really mattered—it meant we could take photos through the cleanest windows every day!

All in all, the whole 9-day trip, from the first communication to getting home safely, was very smooth. Thanks to Safari Soles for giving me a reason to return to Africa!

Of course, it would be even better if information like airport pickup and drop-off were shared before I asked, even though Safari Soles had already arranged everything.

A smooth, well-planned safari with a flexible trip designer and a driver who knew his animals.
5/5

We had an outstanding safari experience with Safari Soles. From the very beginning, communication was smooth and easy. Venessa, who designed our trip, was flexible and happily accommodated all our requests, including a 3-day camping stay in the middle of the itinerary.

Our driver, James, was a great safari guide. He had a keen eye for spotting animals, drove with real respect for them, and planned our routes well ahead of time. He was always on time and kept us informed, and we felt well taken care of throughout the trip, though we sometimes found it difficult to get our questions across in English.

A small tip for future travelers: if you'd like to eat at local places rather than the more tourist-oriented ones, let your driver know in advance, as the default stops tend to lean toward western-style restaurants and prices.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a safari that's well organized and personal.

Eli was perfect! Outdid all my expectations!
5/5

So, we had a 7-day safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro and 4 days in Serengeti.
We went private and for us this was perfect, we did everything at our own pace. I think that was a big plus. Our guide Eli was exceptional, professional and funny. He knew a lot about the animals of course, but also a lot about vegetation, how everything fits together and coexists. The mechanisms between different animals, plants, the soils, landscape, and history.
The Jeep was very comfortable, even after 7 days of non-stop driving.
We got everything from herds of Gnus and zebras, to rhinos, hippos, elephants, leopards, even a cheetah. All the different gazelles, giraffes, baboons and other small apes, vultures, ostriches, wild bore. I’m sure I forgot many others. Of course mostly thanks to Eli that has superhuman vision. Also the gnu crossing was something else.

What I underestimated is the importance of a good pair of binoculars. Best 150€ we invested in this trip. Everything else is kinda irrelevant.

The lodges were way better then expected and so was the food both at lunch and dinner.

Also a praise to patience, often waiting just a bit longer around animals paid off as it allowed a glimpse into their behaviours and not just static “shots”.

With that we saw a lot of different behaviours and situations from different animals. Lions on trees, mating, sleeping, curling, etc. this was possible also by visiting similar places day after day. So while I thought maybe 4 days in Serengeti would get repetitive, I have to report the opposite.

A truly special place that has to be taken with respect and patience, as our guide did.

Serengeti shall never die!
5/5

(I forgot to attach photos last time, so..
We were extremely happy with the entire safari experience. Everything was well organized, from the daily schedule to the game drives, and the whole trip felt smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable. A big part of that was having Abu as our guide.

Abu is a professional, detail-oriented, and wonderfully polished safari guide — basically the kind of person you want to have with you on the safari.

He was always incredibly punctual and managed our daily schedule really well. The safari vehicle was spotless every single day, which made a surprisingly big difference, especially when you’re spending so much time in the car. And yes, the windows were clean enough that taking photos through the glass was absolutely no problem.

What impressed me most was how much he genuinely cares about the animals. He was always respectful of wildlife, and he had a great sense of where an animal might move next and which angle would give us a clearer view. He’s exactly the kind of guide you want to trust — observant, experienced, calm, and always thinking one step ahead.

And if you’re not a very talkative traveler, Abu is still an excellent companion. He has an impressive collection of extremely dry and wonderfully terrible jokes, so he can keep the silence from getting too awkward. 😂

He’s also apparently quite good at sports… see attached photo for evidence. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone planning a safari.
