7-day journey full of unforgettable experiences
5/5

I would like to share an amazing experience we had during our trip with Standard Safaris and our fantastic guides, Denis and George (a huge thank you, guys!).

Let me start with the communication, which was smooth and hassle-free from the very beginning. The manager, Coleb, adjusted our itinerary several times according to our wishes and always communicated quickly and helpfully.

Upon arrival in Entebbe, our guides were waiting for us exactly as agreed, and our beautiful 7-day journey full of unforgettable experiences began. Everything was perfectly organized, and each day brought something new — chimpanzee trekking, a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park with its incredible diversity of wildlife, boat cruises, the highlight of the trip — gorilla trekking — as well as a walking safari among herds of giraffes and countless zebras.

At first, we were amazed mainly by the stunning, almost indescribable nature. But as time went on, what truly captivated us was the incredible sense of peace that accompanied us throughout the entire journey.

George and Denis were outstanding travel companions who took exemplary care of us — for which we are truly grateful. Whatever we asked for, the answer was always “yes — it’s possible.”

Another big surprise was the accommodation and food, which were of genuine five-star quality.

If you are considering this trip and still hesitating — GO! It is an incredible experience. We have traveled quite a bit around the world, and this was one of the most emotional journeys we have ever had.

Thank you, BRO!!

Fantastic, amazing outstanding
5/5

If you are looking for a sign to book with this company, this is it. Stop yscrolling, close your other tabs, and just give them your money.
I’ll be honest: I usually have the navigational skills of a pigeon in a paper bag, so I was a little nervous about trekking through Uganda. But from the moment I was picked up, I realized I wasn’t just in a safari vehicle—I was in a rolling sanctuary of professionalism and vibes.
The Legend Behind the Wheel
Let’s talk about my driver. This man is not just a driver; he is a wizard with a steering wheel. Watching him navigate the local towns was like watching a masterclass in calm. While the rest of the world is a chaotic symphony of boda-bodas and bustling markets, he moved through it all with the grace of a gazelle. I’m pretty sure he could parallel park a Boeing 747 in a narrow alleyway without breaking a sweat.
Safety & Polite Vibes
As a traveler, "safety" is usually my middle name (well, actually it's "Anxious," but "Safety" sounds cooler). I have never felt more looked after. He was incredibly polite, professional, and had this uncanny ability to make me feel like I was traveling with a long-lost best friend who also happened to be a high-level bodyguard.
The "Above and Beyond" King
He didn't just drive; he accommodated every single one of my needs—and I’ll admit, I’m not always the "low-maintenance" traveler I think I am.
• Need a specific snack? He found it.
• Need to stop for the 14th photo of a tree? He’s already pulling over with a smile.
• Need to know the history of a random village? He’s basically a walking encyclopedia.
The Verdict
This company is the real deal. They are trustworthy, organized, and they clearly employ the best humans in the business. If you want a trip where you can actually relax while someone else handles the chaos of the road with a smile, book them.
Pro Tip: Ask for my driver. But don't keep him too long—I’m already planning my next trip and I’m going to need him back! Of course I’m talking about the best tour guide you’ll ever experience GEORGE

Incredible
5/5

We experienced a really well planned amazing time to explore the great nature in Uganda. The communication was from beginning and in between fast and reliable, the service with an own driver for the 12 days perfect and save. We visited our son and it was a mixture of seeing the great nature, but also discover the traditional living and social live with all problems of the country. All around a incredible experience for the whole family including joung adults.

Excellent, reliable and competent tour operator
5/5

I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Standard Safaris in Rwanda. From the very beginning, the booking process was smooth, professional, and extremely well organized, and the level of service throughout the trip exceeded all expectations.

The gorilla trekking experience was truly once-in-a-lifetime and perfectly arranged down to every detail. The Mount Bisoke hike was equally unforgettable—challenging, breathtaking, and incredibly rewarding. Everything ran seamlessly, allowing me to fully enjoy these incredible adventures without any stress.

A very special mention goes to my driver, Godwin, who was exceptional. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and highly competent, always ensuring my comfort and safety. His insights about Rwanda, the landscapes, and local culture added so much value to the journey, and his positive attitude made every day enjoyable.

I wholeheartedly recommend Standard Safaris to anyone looking for a top-quality, reliable, and memorable safari experience in Rwanda. Truly excellent service from start to finish!

Gorilla trekking and Rwanda genocide sites
5/5

-Planning: Coleb was very responsive in answering my questions and adjusting the itinerary as needed to visit the sites we hoped to see. This flexibility was part of my reason for choosing Std Safari.
-Actual tour: Brian, our guide and driver for the 7 days, was a delightful addition to our experience. He met us at the airport and graciously accommodated anything we requested.
-Tip: You will be offered a porter when gorilla trekking. I chose to use one primarily to help support the poor community (knowing that I could carry my own backpack). However, the porter was an essential help in navigating the slippery, muddy, more precarious parts of the hunt ...ie. keeping me on my feet!

INCREDIBLE 3 Day Gorilla Trekking tour from Kigali!
5/5

We booked a 3 day Gorilla Trekking tour from Kigali with Standard Safari’s and it was INCREDIBLE!
The whole process of booking this tour through Coleb was so easy and everything went smoothly! We booked budget lodge options but these lodges were amazing! Great views, yummy food and super comfortable for us.
The Gorilla Trekking was a once in a lifetime experience and we couldn’t thank our driver George enough for hooking us up with a wonderful guide & group. Our second night was at Lake Bunyonyi and it was such a peaceful experience after the hike.
We had a boat tour of the lake the next morning and it was wonderful!
Couldn’t recommend a better company to book this tour through than Standard Safaris ☺️

No your standard safari - an unforgettable adventure
5/5

Don’t be fooled by the name – there’s nothing “standard” about a safari with these guys. From the moment we were picked up in Kigali, every day felt smooth, exciting, and packed full of highlights.

The itinerary was spot on. Gorilla trekking in both Rushaga and Ruhija sectors of Bwindi was surreal, the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge were amazing, and we even squeezed in two unexpected game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park along with a river cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The lodges were all well chosen, staff were warm and welcoming, and the vehicle was spotless, comfortable, and reliable – exactly what you want when covering long distances (and yes, expect some bumpy roads along the way).

Coleb made the booking and logistics effortless with quick replies, clear communication, and everything lined up exactly as promised. For what was included, the whole experience was excellent value.

And then there was Brian, our guide. Friendly, professional, and always calm, he made the whole journey feel easy. He spotted wildlife we never would have noticed, shared great local knowledge, and somehow always seemed to know the right track to take. When we asked if there was any chance of seeing lions, he went out of his way to make it happen – and he did. That kind of effort turned a great trip into an extraordinary one.

In the end, the wildlife was incredible, but it was the care and thought from the people behind the scenes that made it truly memorable. Standard Safaris delivered a five-star experience – and if you can, ask for Brian.
