They organized a unforgettable adventure!
5/5

We had a wonderful Safari- and beachtrip in Tanzania, very well organized by Makasa Tanzanian Safaris. We were welcomed at every station of arrival on time, all the transfers took place safe and correct – just perfectly planned! Our agent Zara was very helpful and patient – as we postponed the journey for one year she had to be flexible with us, which she really was... Thanks again, Zara!
Our competent and sympathetic driver Steve, who almost became a family member during the trip, made our adventure in the Serengeti unforgettable, a big thank you to him and Makasa, who has chosen very well for us. The places in Zanzibar (Stonetown and Paje) were perfect – we really liked Maru Maru Hotel in Stonetown and appreciated the uncomplicated and colorful location at the east cost in Mahali Hotel.
Just one hint: Arriving in Zanzibar travellers need a local health insurance, which we did'nt have. It was no problem to pay it at the airport (around 22 Dollars p.p.), but you save time organizing this before.
All in all: We highly recommend this agency and would book again with them for sure!

Amazing experience
5/5

Our experience in Tanzania was awesome!
We spent 6 days inland and 6 days in Zanzibar. I would have loved to spend one or two more days to get to know Arusha or other city inland.
Stone town was the only city we visited and it was worth those 2 days. An amazing town.
Zara from Makasa helped us to design a fitted tour based on my limitations/suggestions.
Guides, transfers, accommodations were superb.
High five for a very professionally tailored Tour arranged by Makasa

Sorry, but I had no much contact to the operater.
5/5

The trip was incredibly beautiful. We were 14 days in the mainland Tanzania and 1 week of Sansibar. If I could decide again, I would prefer to stay longer in the mainland and shorter of Sansibar. We had only 1 day in Moshi, 2 or 3 nights would be better for us.

All the drivers were absolutely reiable, drove safely and werde very kind persons, especially Benjamin.

The accommodatins were very good with very friendly staff and wonderful food. We enjoy it very much.

We had a truly wonderful time; everything went so smoothly, and it was as beautiful as we'd hoped. We've traveled a lot, but this trip is definitely in our top 3! The email communication with Selma & Anne beforehand was also flawless.

Makasa made my dream come true!
5/5

Our experience with Makasa Safari was truly unforgettable. From the very first contact with Selma and Anne, we received extensive and personal advice for a completely tailor-made trip. Everything was perfectly aligned with our wishes, making the program a perfect fit.

What really made our safari special was our guide, Kelvin. The immense knowledge and expertise that Makasa invests in their guides is priceless. Not only did Kelvin share an incredible amount of information about nature and wildlife, but he also made sure we always felt safe. Thanks to his sharp eye, we witnessed unique animal interactions we would never have noticed ourselves. He made the journey personal, special, and unforgettable. And we had so many laughs with him, too!

From start to finish, we were completely taken care of and free of any worries. Everything went seamlessly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Makasa Safari far exceeded our expectations – an absolute must!

Enthousiast en vol kennis!
5/5

We heard about Makasa from family and were immediately impressed. From the start, they listened carefully to our wishes and tailored our trip to our needs. It was fantastic how we could see everything in the app (even without internet!). It's wonderful how the trip is organized from start to finish, with excellent accommodations, safe transportation, great tour guides, and truly excellent food! We would definitely recommend this to people in the area, thank you!

Dreams come true!
5/5

Makasa helps make your dreams come true. Zara, Anne, and Selma from Makasa provided so much information and showed great patience with our endless questions that we felt completely comfortable booking with them. They really know the country, the people who live there, and the right partners to work with. True professionals!
Amazing breathtaking adventurous holidays with my husband and 2 (adult) children. This all thanks to our guides during our trip. Our gentil guide Godwin in Moshi, who showed us for a couple of days the real life there, explained the culture of Tanzania, and showed the treasures of the region (waterfall, local market, coffee plantation…) before he brought us to the Amini Africa Masaai Lodge. The time spent at the Masaai Lodge is an experience we will never forget. The heart-warming welcome, their smiling and happy faces, their willingness to share their traditions, culture and answer all your questions are just a glance of how beautiful this experience really was. Myriam at the bar and shop was always there to help us. At said shop you can buy beautiful handmade jewelry, baskets, dreamcatchers, belts and all sorts of objects made from beads in all kinds of colors. We were incredibly lucky to have Sabore and Leyasek as guides during our days at the Masaai lodge. Bush breakfast, mini safari and a touching visit to the Africa Amini Life clinic, schools, sewing shop, Masaai garage…these two great warriors gave us fantastic days with their enthusiastic stories. We experienced such great and hilarious moments of laughing together. At those special moments you do not need anything more, this is pure happiness. We really thought that that was it, that the holidays could not get any better. But that was without counting on Augustino, our private Safari guide, who showed up at the Masaai Lodge to bring us to the different parcs for 9 days. He made us directly feel comfortable by starting to sing, “in the jungle the mighty jungle….”, setting us immediately in the mood to see some animals. Augustino made our already fantastic journey even more spectacular. He is a “google button” himself for all birds and animals’ names we saw during our Safari in Tarangire parc, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and more. We have been so incredibly lucky with what nature showed us and with his experience we were able to see so many animals that we even started a list to make sure this was not a dream. The days at Serengeti lodge Kimbilio lodge were an experience on its own. With Kotema as camp manager who made us feel so very welcome. All was very well organized. We had some great chats, and soccer games together. Jeremy, from the “entertainment, food and beverages department” (As he called it) made us laugh a lot. It was also very enjoyable that the guide was able to sit with us for all meals. We really felt like a family there. Our guide made sure that our breakfast or lunch was always served on a spectacular site with great view and we even danced all together in the middle of Serengeti! The lodges itself are very luxurious which I, to be honest, never expected, food was great (during our whole trip we loved the food). You could hear the zebra’s and wildebeest nearby our tent. We even heard a lion and hyena’s fighting for the kill during the evening and night, but we felt safe at Kimbilio. After visiting the spectacular and beautiful crater we asked Augustino on the way back to the airport if there was a possibility to eat local food instead of our lunchboxes (we did not pack them in the morning). He brought us to a very special place, not seeable from the outsight, within a banana plantation, where a local, delicious lunch was cooked for us. So very tasteful and a finishing touch on our trip. We are very grateful to have met such incredible, nice and amazing people and on top of that to be so lucky to see the Big 5 as well thanks to Augustino!
A sweater is very useful for the silly nights and a scarf is Andy when the roads are a bit dusty.

Exceptional service providing an experience for life
5/5

We first went with Makasa in 2011 (as a couple), and we have been telling people about them ever since. We finally managed to go with all 3 boys (born after our first trip), and it was even more amazing this time! An exceptional service, love into every detail, high quality and a trustworthy company.

Makasa put an effort into taking care of the land and people of Tanzania, and that shows. Everyone are positive, with trust and respect towards Makasa. If in doubt about who to travel with, we can not recommend Makasa high enough.

We have been home now for a couple of months, but the kids still miss our guide and driver Kelvin.

We will come back!

Amazing organization and Safari trip thanks to Makasa!
5/5

What an amazing trip we had! Makasa took care of everything down to the last detail. The communication beforehand was very pleasant. Anne created a tailor-made itinerary and incorporated all our wishes and changes in no time. For example, we wanted to start and end in Zanzibar because of the cheaper tickets from TUI Fly. This was no problem—Anne arranged it right away!

During the trip, the accommodations exceeded our expectations and everything was perfectly organized. The safari was especially unforgettable, thanks in large part to our fantastic guide.

We were a bit nervous about booking such a faraway (and also fairly expensive) trip over the internet, but Makasa made the whole process very smooth and immediately gave us confidence.

Still unsure about which travel company to choose? Don’t be—just go with Makasa. They won’t disappoint you!
