Awesome safari with very accommodating and nice guide and tour company
Last year me and four of my friends went on a safari trip with Shayona Safari & Tours. We started in Mwanza very early on Saturday morning and spend one night in the Serengeti National Park. The park is amazing and the amount of animals that you get to see is unbelievable!
I can highly recommend going with this tour company too! The day before our trip we were able to talk with our guide and the company and see the car that we were planning to go in. They made sure to listen to our wishes and we figured a super nice plan together. Our guide was super friendly and knew a lot to tell us about the animals and the surrounding.

Simply amazing.
We had the best safari experience imaginable, and it was all thanks to Dharminder and Ritesh. From start to finish, everything was exceptional.
Dharminder worked incredibly hard to ensure we saw everything we had hoped for and more. His knowledge of the wildlife, environment, and safari experience is second to none, and his driving skills were outstanding. He went above and beyond to look after us, always making sure we were comfortable and getting the most out of every moment. Thanks to his dedication and expertise, we saw so much more than we ever expected.
A special mention also goes to Ritesh, who planned the trip so well from the very beginning. His knowledge and expertise ensured every aspect of the safari was perfectly organised. He was incredibly accommodating when our requests changed and was always willing to adapt the itinerary to suit our needs, making sure everything ran smoothly and seamlessly.
The entire experience exceeded our expectations, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of both Dharminder and Ritesh. Not only are they exceptionally good at what they do, but they are also genuinely kind and wonderful people. I would absolutely recommend this safari to anyone, and if I were to do it again, I would specifically request Dharminder again without hesitation.

Wonderful Serengeti safari
We have just completed a wonderful fly-in, fly-out Serengeti safari with Shayona.
They were excellent from the very start. Helping to tailor-make the safari to meet our requirements (thanks, Ajay & Ritesh for all your great advice) including organising a great balloon trip for us. Thanks also to Karim, our driver in Arusha.
Our guide during the safari was Rievo and he made sure that we had an unforgettable experience, getting so close to the amazing animals and ensuring that everything ran smoothly.

Fantastic Safari
Here is a copy of my trip advisor review:
We had a wonderful 4-day safari in Serengeti and Ngorogoro where we saw alot of animals including all the big five. We also enjoyed the breathtaking views of the nature.
I have previously visited the parks but this trip was much better organized. The accommodation was super. Our guide. Ndaki was really nice and he got good information about the location of the animals.
Quiet and kind
We booked a two day safari with Shayona which ended up being the perfect amount of time as we were traveling with a 4 month old. Our guide Samuel was great at talking to other guides to get us to the best sightings which included several of the big five. Highly recommend Shayona for their communication, coordination and hospitality.

Fantastic experience
Service was impeccable - our tour guide Onesma was friendly, knowledgable and went above and beyond to make sure we got as close to the animals as possible. Felt completely safe and the car was clean and comfortable. We were able to cross everything off our list without feeling tired or bored and had the best experience. Would highly recommend!!

Amazing service, Customer Focused
This was our first safari in Tanzania, and Shayona Safari did an outstanding job organizing every aspect of our trip. From the accommodations to our dietary requirements, everything was arranged perfectly, and the communication throughout the process was excellent.
I would especially like to thank our guide, Onesmo, for making the experience so memorable. He kept us entertained throughout the journey, and his knowledge of the wildlife and their locations was truly impressive. Great experience from start to finish
Our safari trip was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. Ritesh did a fantastic job planning everything — he was always quick to respond, attentive to details, and ensured that all logistics ran smoothly.
A special highlight of our trip was our guide, Minda. He is truly outstanding. Thanks to his experience and deep knowledge, we were able to see all of the Big Five, which was incredible. What really stood out was his ability to go beyond the obvious — there were several moments where he took us to spots other drivers hadn’t reached, and it paid off in unforgettable ways. We got remarkably close to both a leopard and a rhino, which was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Minda is also incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife. He could recognize animals even from a long distance without using binoculars, which was very impressive. Beyond that, he shared a wealth of zoological facts about each animal we encountered. This made the experience much more meaningful — it wasn’t just about seeing the animals, but truly learning about them, and that knowledge came directly from Minda.
He was extremely punctual and professional throughout the trip. The vehicle was in excellent condition — very new and cleaned every single day, which made a big difference in comfort.
We were a group of 7 people — two families traveling with three children aged 6 to 9 — so having the right guide was especially important for us. Minda was a perfect match: patient, engaging, and made the experience enjoyable for both adults and kids.
I highly recommend Shayona Safaris to anyone looking for a well-organized, seamless safari experience. And if you can, ask for Minda — he will make sure every dollar you spend is absolutely worth it.

Very friendly accommodating and thorough
We were 9 in our group. On arrival we were met by our two drivers and they had welcome bags for us and goodies for the safari. Our drivers were very knowledgeable and tried their best to make us comfortable and make our safari experience a memorable one.
