A must do safari experience add on when visiting Zanzibar
From booking the Safari tour directly with Uwanda Tours, the communication was good from the start. The price was a very good all inclusive package including round trip airport transfers.
We were picked up directly from the airport landing strip and straight into the safari jeep, great welcome and first impressions. The jeep seated 6 but we had it privately for a group of 2 which we loved. Our guide Mr Martin, was amazing, he asked our preferences and did the best job of finding all the animals for us, as well as being very knowledgable and giving lots of useful info about Tanzania, the animals and everything else. The game drive was above all my expectations, i really did have an amazing day, so much so that I will be rebooking for a full safari trip at a later date. The lunch on the game drive was also delicious and I am a fussy eater!
The accomadation provided was spacious and clean, with a lovely pool too. we had lots of visitors - monkeys! all around the resort. my only issue with the resort was that there was no restaurant menu, there was only 1 dish provided for lunch and dinner, so if you have any dietary requirements you will need to prepare in advance.
Day 2, we absolutely loved the Maasai village tour, however didnt love the river cruise, I found it quite boring, so given the choice I would choose a second game drive!
my only issue for the whole trip was the lack of communication at the airport leaving Zanzibar, there were multiple flights, no boarding passes and lots of confusion!
But overall we had an amazing trip and was a great expereince and also great value for money.

Fantastic safari.
We had a fantastic 3 day safari in Selous. Our driver and guide Mr Poli and Mr Martin were absolutely brilliant , they were both very knowledgeable and funny making us both laugh. We saw everything we wanted even waiting for nearly 3 hours for the Leopard to come out of some bushes , awesome.
We only gave 4 stars due to us paying extra to stay at Mufasa tented camp and them not passing the details to any staff. We arrived to an empty camp wih no staff there only a Massai who was guarding camp. We had to wait until staff arrived later before we could do anything. Not the staff's fault just bad management planning.The staff were fantastic and location brilliant on the lake edge.
Also alcohol was not provided ( you have to bring your own) and not mentioned on website , which would have been a nice end to a day's safari watching the sun go down.

Reliable operator in Tanzania!
We had a 12-day safari in the South of Tanzania (Mikumi NP, Ruaha NP, Udzungwa NP, Nyerere NP). It was a great feeling to spot a lot of animals with very few jeeps and tourists in the parks. You may spot less animals than at Serengeti NP, but once you spot a leopard or a lion, you have it all for yourself and that's truly an unforgettable experience. Our guide Kapande fulfilled all our requests and dedicated himself fully to offer a great experience. Since the area is less touristic, the infrastructure for tourists, especially hotels and restaurants is a little bit scarse, so be prepared to sleep in small resorts and eat lunch packs every daybut it makes the trip more adventurous and authentic.

Safari Nyerere well organized (via online) with Uwanta Tours and Safaris.
We were picked up from our hotel in Zanzibar for 2 days: transport, safaris, hotel, meal.. On the 1st day we had a safari from 8am to 5pm and saw many animals : hippos, impalas, elephants, hyenas, baboons, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wild dogs... and one lion. The fist day, we were lucky to have a guide Raphael who spoke French. Fascinating and very professional he shared with us his great knowledge of the fauna and flora. The 2nd day, safari on the river, much less rich in discoveries.

Flexible
We had a fantastic 9 day safari going to 3 game parks. Our safari guide was Kapande who was fantastic. He knew exactly where to go to see the animals, was good company, and stayed with us until our plane left despite being a number of hours later than scheduled. He ensured that we saw everything we wanted to see and constructed the tour around what we wanted to get out of it.
The down sides were that the company forgot to tell him we were arriving at a different time than originally planned and also on the last day the safari company initially tried to shorten our trip however Kapande sorted all this out in his usual friendly and calm manner
Even when our car broke down, he arranged ‘other transport’ and before we knew it we were back on the road

It was a good experience that we won’t forget.
the game was very pleasant and the people very nice. even if we could not enjoy the pool, everything else was very good! at the lodge and in all our trips. special mention for Omary. it's the best. doing this travel without my husband with 3 children was a bit worrying for me. he was more than perfect. for the game but also everything around it. we felt safe and very well guided at all times. It was great. He explains clearly all we want to know about animals and the country. Very kind, professional. calling the boat safari is disappointing.. you see very few hippos and crocodiles. it was just a very pleasant ride to discover the country. by car, nothing to complain about, it was very addictive! rather than doing the safari while walking, the rest was deserved! it will be for next time… and one time for sure it was thanks to Omary. He knows his job and do it well
